With that many people taking weight loss medication, what’s your view? Are they helpful for those struggling or do you have concerns about long term effects?
00:00I think if they're prescribed by the doctor, that's fine, but if you're buying them a bit dodgy, you know, online, no, I wouldn't. I wouldn't tell my daughter to do that at all.
00:11It's dangerous because of the counterfeit ones that are going around and people are ordering on the internet. They don't know where it's come from, so it needs to go through doctors.
00:20I have diabetes type 2 and I would like to lose weight. I am very suspicious, though, about having to take drugs and whether the long-term effects of them will be worse than not taking them in the first place.
00:36Are you worried about their, like, long-term health?
00:39Yes, because when they come off them, they're just going to go back to the old ways, aren't they? It's either a lifetime thing or you're talking gastric band, another way.
00:47If they're prescribed, well, that's fine, but, as I say, I wouldn't. They do work, but then you put your weight back on. I've got no idea when you stop, so it's a bit of a vicious circle, isn't it?
