Around 1.5 million people in the UK are now using weight loss medication. We asked people in Birmingham whether they think these drugs are a helpful tool for those struggling — or if they have concerns about long-term health effects.

00:00I've been on it for the last three years. I have lost an incredible amount of weight because I was type 2 diabetes. It runs in my family. And so far I've had no negatives at all from the actual drug itself.
00:25Yeah it's quite concerning. We just went to watch Wicked the other day. There's a lot of discourse about that. There's a lot of discourse around it there. And I think it's just not setting a good precedent for younger people. I am concerned.
00:39I think they must have done the research on the drugs. And let's be realistic. Covid came in and there was very little time to do research on that one.
00:46If it's good for people's confidence. If it helps them have a fitter and healthier lifestyle. Changes the way they live. And brings a positive attitude. Good luck. Go for it. Weight loss drugs are all the way.
