Bills sign Shaq Lawson (again)

00:00I think it is a little ridiculous how often they bring back old pieces.

00:07There are reasons for it that make sense,

00:10which I think are probably this stage in the year,

00:13how many guys that are available know the system

00:17that you would feel comfortable putting on the field immediately if you needed to.

00:22That's generally the defense that you see from it.

00:25But could you criticize them for never finding their way to anybody else that could fit?

00:33I think this might be one of those where that's possible

00:36because there are other pieces, other guys that come back

00:40and they really haven't been out of football that long.

00:44Trey White played last year in the league.

00:47Poyer started for a team last year in the league, the whole year.

00:52Phillips played for you last year.

00:53Davis was a big money contract.

00:56Shaq Lawson didn't play football last year.

01:01He played 14 snaps all last season.

01:07He played one game for Carolina.

01:09He got 14 snaps, and that was it.

01:13Wasn't in the league all year this year.

01:17For him, this might be the one where you'd go,

01:20Really? Your pro scouting department couldn't find anybody?

01:27Somebody's released fifth-round pick from the last two years

01:32or someone that just got cut loose a couple of weeks ago somewhere.

01:38You had to go to a guy that is definitely not in the league?

01:44and actually Evan just tweeted this in.

01:48I think the worst thing that it says about your team

01:51when you are always bringing back guys like this,

01:54it says more about your drafting.

01:57It says more about you don't have young talent

02:02that's been learning the system

02:03that is at the bottom, bottom end of the roster.

02:08Six-round picks, seven-round picks,

02:10undrafted guys that maybe found a way to stick through training camp.

02:14You don't have these young pieces.
