00:00Villa with a pool, or hotels rule?
00:03Darling, hold my hand!
00:06The Great Escapers, brought to you by Jet 2 Holidays.
00:10Ahoy there, ladies!
00:13Stars from Britain's best-loved shows are jetting off for a holiday showdown.
00:18Is anyone else nervous? Yeah.
00:20Legends of Corrie, I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here,
00:23Loose Women and The Chase are competing against their fellow castmates.
00:27Hey, no road rage, please.
00:31To prove they can deliver the best holiday adventure.
00:35You like that break a bit too much. I'm not even pressing the break.
00:38Each famous face...
00:39Can we get back to coronation, please?
00:41O-M-G.
00:42DJ, destroy us!
00:44...will plan their dream day in the sun.
00:46We are Loose Women. Together we can do anything.
00:48And at the end of the week...
00:50They'll vote to decide who will be crowned the Greatest Escaper.
00:55Are we all thinking, I want to win?
00:57Yeah.
00:58Only one of us can be the Greatest Escaper.
01:01Who is it gonna be?
01:03Along the southern coast of Portugal lies the Algarve.
01:14Famous for its golden beaches, picturesque villages and endless sunshine.
01:19The perfect battleground for this week's celebrities.
01:22Three ex-campmates from I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.
01:26They survive the jungle together, but can they survive an actual holiday?
01:30The first of those three celebs is queen of the ballroom, Oti Mabusi.
01:35I love travelling. The freedom, the drink, the nap.
01:40I need a cocktail and the sun. I think my day will win.
01:45I just want to always be the best and do my best every single time.
01:50Hot on her heels is ex-campmate number two.
01:54Radio One breakfast DJ, Dean McCulloch.
01:57I take my holidays very seriously.
02:00I'm definitely the one to plan everything because I love it.
02:03I even love getting up really early in the morning and going to the airport.
02:07Everyone rolls their eyes, but I like it.
02:09What's your favourite piece you put on holiday?
02:11Turkey.
02:12Oh my God, I love Turkey.
02:13I am from Antalya.
02:14Oh, I went to Antalya to get my teeth done.
02:16No.
02:17These are Antalya's finest.
02:18I may not be good at a bush-tooker trial, but what I'm really good at is putting together an award-winning five-star holiday.
02:27Just don't stress everyone. I've got this.
02:32And last to arrive is the legend of the boxing ring.
02:35The one and only Barry McGuigan.
02:38I'm hoping to win.
02:39I want to put on a really fabulous day that they really enjoy.
02:43And I'm also looking forward to revealing my competitive edge as well.
02:4813.9 kilos.
02:50Yes.
02:51Is that good?
02:52Very on the way.
02:53Great.
02:55My man.
02:56Hello.
02:57Hi.
02:58Good morning.
02:59Hello.
03:00What the hell are you doing?
03:03A three-hour flight from the UK, the Algarve stretches across Portugal's southern Atlantic coastline.
03:10Look at this.
03:11Barre.
03:12It's Barre.
03:13Oh.
03:14Who's got the biggest food?
03:16I bet you it's Barre.
03:17Not me.
03:18With your size, everything is bigger than that.
03:22I have absolutely no idea what OT and Dana are planning.
03:25None, whatsoever.
03:26To be honest, I'm ready for anything.
03:28I love to throw myself in all the most weirdest situations ever.
03:35So whatever you want to throw my way, I'm totally up for it.
03:39I have a funny feeling that we're going to wake up in the morning and Barre's going to be stood at the end of my bed with some boxing gloves.
03:44Right shoe. Up.
03:45And the fact that he has control of a whole day of this trip, I do worry that it will involve endurance.
03:52Three stars, three dream days, but only one winner.
03:57Cheers.
03:58Cheers.
03:59To get in here in one piece.
04:00Yes.
04:01In one piece is right, yeah.
04:02So now the crack begins.
04:04I'm really looking forward to this whole experience with you guys.
04:07I hope so.
04:08It's going to be better.
04:09Because I'm with you two, I kind of think at any moment that like either Ant and Dec are going to walk in and be like, Dean, it might be.
04:15Yeah.
04:16Yeah.
04:17We're going to have a good time.
04:18Well, no, we are.
04:19I know all this seems quite nice and lovely, but this is a competition.
04:22Yes. We only in business.
04:23And there can only be one winner.
04:25I'm looking at a world champion boxer here and a two times strictly champion.
04:28I'm just going to hold my hands up and say, I would love to win.
04:31And you two, you two could go home. Losers.
04:34That's a genuine possibility.
04:36I am prepared to accept that.
04:39No, you're not.
04:40Are you?
04:41Well, not really.
04:42That was a lie.
04:43Yeah.
04:44No.
04:49Oti's the first to show off her perfect day out and she's getting help from customer helper Gio to turn her ambitious wish list into a reality.
04:58Everything has been planned. Adventure, fun, laughter and a good time.
05:03I think my day will win because I'm giving them variety.
05:07Good morning.
05:08Good morning.
05:09How are you this morning?
05:10Oh, I'm feeling amazing.
05:11Look at the sun, blue sky.
05:13Isn't it beautiful?
05:14I'm so excited about today.
05:15So my first idea is off-road baggies.
05:18Oh, okay.
05:19That's wild, unexpected.
05:20It's just that element of just pushing yourself.
05:23Yeah.
05:24And getting on something that you've never got on before.
05:26Yeah, yeah.
05:27And then just going as fast as possible.
05:28Yeah.
05:29Do you have an idea where we can get? Can you sort them out for me?
05:32Absolutely. 100%.
05:33Do they go fast? That's what I need to know.
05:35Well, that depends on the driver.
05:38She's told us to bring a change of clothes.
05:41Yes.
05:42That worries me, Barry.
05:43That means we're either getting sweaty or dirty.
05:45Or both.
05:46And I don't want to do any of that.
05:47Or both.
05:48It would be really lovely for us to have lunch somewhere, which is really nice and authentic.
05:53So there's this beautiful little hidden gem where the locals would kind of go, that sort of thing.
05:57Off the beaten track, if you will.
05:58Yeah.
05:59And I think you're going to really enjoy it.
06:01Do you think she's going to get us dancing?
06:02Of course she is, yeah.
06:03She's got to be.
06:04The boys know that I love to dance.
06:06So I would love to get the boys moving.
06:09So we have this lovely little traditional folk group to kind of give you guys that little taster.
06:15You'll have a great time.
06:16You grew up in some musical theatre, so that's your thing.
06:20Yeah, listen.
06:21This is very much in my wheelhouse.
06:22Yes.
06:23I love busting a move.
06:24Yeah, yeah.
06:25I'm not sure if I want to do it on holiday.
06:28Do you know what I mean?
06:30I'm being very competitive, but also good about today.
06:32I don't think they'll expect the first activity.
06:35I think both things that we're doing with the adventure, that will cater very much to Barry.
06:40But the dancing, that also cater very much to Dean.
06:43So I'm feeling like if I can get just two ticks from the boys, I have to have this in the bag, right?
06:51Hello.
06:52Hey, hey, hey.
06:53Morning.
06:55Whilst Gio puts the finishing touches to Oti's day, the escapers are heading 12 miles north to the Moorish 12th century castle at Padern.
07:03The perfect place for her first surprise, a bit of sightseeing.
07:08This is one of the castles that is actually on the flag of Portugal.
07:13So I thought that we just come here and we just admire some of the history and the culture that comes with being in Portugal.
07:20Are you being serious?
07:21Yeah.
07:22No, no, she is, she is.
07:23I think it's great.
07:24So we're going to stand here and look at this castle all day.
07:26Sure.
07:27William.
07:29I'm just joking.
07:30I hate you.
07:31We're riding, and oh my God.
07:33Oh my God.
07:34Yes.
07:35Now you're joking.
07:36Oh my God.
07:37Now you're joking.
07:38Well done.
07:39You saved that.
07:40You saved that.
07:41That was great.
07:42Because up until now, this was getting boring.
07:47I love adventure, and I love adrenaline.
07:51I love getting myself to a place where I'm like, this scares the life out of me, but I'm going to do it because it does.
07:58Come on.
07:59Barry, how's your driving?
08:01Get ready to eat dust, guys.
08:03Maybe I should have told you before, now I've been disqualified seven times for speeding.
08:07Wow.
08:08No, you haven't.
08:09Yeah.
08:10Oi!
08:11Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
08:13Tee, tee, tee, tee, tee, tee, tee, tee, tee, tee, tee, tee.
08:16Loser.
08:17Oh, speed ahead!
08:18Come on, Barry.
08:19Ah!
08:20Ah!
08:21Ah!
08:22Ah!
08:23This is...
08:25Oh!
08:26Move on, Patty.
08:33Huh?
08:37Game on!
08:38Game on, the boot end.
08:40We're coming for you, Otay.
08:43Ah!
08:44Ah!
08:45Geet, geet, geet, geet, geet, geet, geet.
08:47Move on the way!
08:48I love speed. I just love excitement. Love the risk and the danger.
08:57There was one point where I did fear for my life. I thought to myself, has Barry McGrigan
09:01ever passed his driving test? Because we were going on a single lane and Barry tried to
09:06overtake Voday.
09:11Portugal is the same side of the road as Oslo.
09:15I have no reason. I don't know.
09:17I don't know if I can't help us, Barry.
09:20We're on the right, don't worry.
09:26He's leaving us for a duck, Barry.
09:29Oh no, not the fuck.
09:38Oh my god, new place.
09:41This morning was so much fun. I mean, look at me.
09:44I'm grey and brown and dirty, but you've got the biggest smile on my face. Woo!
09:51I really think that this morning I gave them a little bit of a taste of me. I loved it.
09:55I thought you were going to let me pass.
09:58Barry, this is not the Formula One.
10:00That was ten out of ten. I would give that a solid ten out of ten.
10:05I'd give it twelve out of ten.
10:06Yeah.
10:07That's fantastic.
10:08And I think that the fact that this is only her first activity out of three, God knows
10:12what the rest of the day has. I mean, we were exhausted. We're ready for an afternoon nap.
10:16Fresh from her victory, Oti's taking the boys for lunch in the sleepy village of Alta, famous for its natural springs.
10:26I tell you what, we will not be able to beat that.
10:29Excitement and enthusiasm and fun.
10:31It was fun.
10:32I was great.
10:33But you get very competitive as well. What do you think you get it from?
10:37When I was a kid I was always into sport. Then I got into boxing. Bingo.
10:41I knew right away this was going to be something I could be really good at. You know, wanting to be successful, wanting to be the best at something, like I suppose you did in your dancing.
10:53You have the sort of drive that would have made you the very best.
10:57It feels good when you work hard and you achieve something. I believe that part of me comes from my parents, really, because my dad, of course we grew up in South Africa and it was really tough.
11:08And being a lawyer, seeing him wake up every morning, really work hard and also defend people, but then come back home and then continue working.
11:17And that became the culture of the family. My dad is like, if I'm working hard, you guys have to work hard as well because I'm not always going to be around.
11:25And my mom was always about the sports. I started doing national competitions when I was seven, eight years old. So I was really young.
11:33And every single sport that we did, my mom was like, if you're going to use your time, you've got to be the best and you've got to work.
11:40Isn't that interesting?
11:41And you really have to push. When you're a dancer, like your body is your job and it's really difficult because we have to retire so young.
11:52Yeah.
11:53How are you doing?
11:54Oh my God.
11:55For you, this one is salad of octopus.
11:57Great.
11:58And this one is fresh and cold salad. This one is from Algarve.
12:01Oh, now. Enjoy your meal.
12:02Thank you very, very much. Thank you. Thank you.
12:04I want to have a dig in. I've never had an octopus salad. This looks good.
12:07Barry, do you remember how we were in the jungle? You would finish all my meals.
12:11Thank you very much.
12:41Three stars from I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here
12:49are in the Algarve competing to deliver the best holiday adventure
12:53and be crowned the champion Great Escaper.
12:56Today, Oti Mabusi is in charge
12:58and she's planned an activity for Dean McCulloch and Barry McGuigan
13:01she hopes will give her the edge in the competition.
13:05My activities describe exactly who I am, very adventurous,
13:09but then the dance.
13:10The dance is quite important.
13:12I think they'll ease it to it and they'll definitely enjoy it.
13:15And they'll be like, yeah, this is more of what we thought you'd do on holiday.
13:20Oh!
13:21Here we go!
13:32This is a folk group who actually do traditional dancing that is
13:38like known from the area.
13:40OK.
13:41And we are going to get involved!
13:43Yes, Barry!
13:44Yes!
13:45We're going to do some dancing!
13:46Come on!
13:47Come on!
13:48I really believe that when you go out and see other people's styles of dance, that's them
13:56sharing their history with you.
13:59Dating back to the 19th century, Corradinho is a lively couple's dance, born, legend has
14:04it, when a Spanish man tried to win the heart of a local woman with his nifty footwork.
14:09I've never ever in my life done this style of dance.
14:11I've never ever in my life done this style of dance.
14:13OK.
14:14I don't care.
14:15You can pick it up like that.
14:16Yes, I've already picked it up.
14:17But that's what I'm talking about.
14:18And he's just a dancer.
14:19Yes.
14:20It's just this idiot that's going to look like a clown.
14:22Hey!
14:23Woo!
14:24Well done.
14:25Congratulations.
14:26Are you ready to learn?
14:27Oh, yes!
14:28I'm completely out of my comfort zone and you know that.
14:35It is not me.
14:37It is not me.
14:38I think he thought we were just coming to observe the dance.
14:41But when the dance teacher turned around and said, no, it's your turn, I could feel
14:44Barry quivering.
14:45You're going to put this arm.
14:48Yeah.
14:49Like this.
14:50OK.
14:51Here.
14:52Yeah, OK.
14:53Now we're going to go middle steps like this.
14:55Now you're going to run.
14:57Faster?
14:58Yeah.
14:59Let's go faster.
15:00Faster.
15:01Faster.
15:02Oh, my God.
15:03I'm getting dizzy.
15:04Oh, my God.
15:05That's good.
15:06We went so fast.
15:07That's it.
15:08That's it.
15:09OK.
15:10Let's do it again.
15:11You are exactly my demographic to teach.
15:14So we could win Strictly Berry.
15:17I'm feeling very excited.
15:18I love trying something new when I come on holiday and I would never get the chance to
15:22do this otherwise.
15:23But it is very, very fast.
15:24And the kids are like five and they're doing it really well.
15:26Is anyone else nervous?
15:27Yeah.
15:28Yes.
15:29Can we start?
15:30Yes.
15:31Let's go.
15:32One, two, three, one, two, three, one, two, three.
15:35One, two, three.
15:36It's better.
15:37It's better.
15:38Up.
15:39Pitch.
15:40Up.
15:41One, two, three, one, two, three.
15:44Up the knee.
15:45No, it's just good.
15:46Arm in there.
15:47Yes.
15:48Yes.
15:49Yes.
15:50Fast.
15:51Fast.
15:52Go fast.
15:53Oh, my God.
15:54Change.
15:55One, two, three, four.
15:56To seven.
15:57One, two, three, one, two, three.
15:58One, two, three.
15:59One, two, three.
16:00One, two, three.
16:01One, two, three.
16:02One, two, three.
16:03One, two, three.
16:04One, two, three.
16:05One, two, three.
16:06What a way to end the day.
16:07I don't know how she's managed this.
16:09Barry and I don't stand a chance for the rest of the week.
16:12Yay.
16:13Good.
16:14Yay.
16:15Very good.
16:16Thank you very much.
16:17Thank you so much.
16:18Thank you so much.
16:19What would you give us out of ten?
16:20Eight.
16:21Oh, I can't handle an eight.
16:24Even for me?
16:25No, you're a ten.
16:26Thank you, darling.
16:27You're a full ten.
16:28That's my girl.
16:30I loved the dancing, and they were all just beautiful people, the whole lot of them.
16:35But it was great fun, and they were very patient teachers.
16:39So, yeah, an eventful day, and I genuinely really enjoyed it.
16:42The dancing was amazing.
16:44When you see the little kids, and they love it so much, and then you see how they're guided
16:48by the older generation, and you can see how community is supposed to work.
16:52It took me back home to South Africa.
16:55I love the fact that they still do this, and it feels really like a community.
17:00And the reason why I started dancing in South Africa, we had that apartheid era.
17:06There were no places where little black kids could dance.
17:09And so my mom formed her own dance school.
17:12We were safe.
17:13We had ambition in that room.
17:15We were focused, and we were doing something useful for our future.
17:19And that, tonight, reminded me of why, you know, I love dancing.
17:24I stayed in it.
17:25It's just that community.
17:26Yeah.
17:27Well, I found out more about Oti today.
17:29Stuff we didn't find out in the jungle.
17:31So she grew up in a very difficult time.
17:34Great mom.
17:35Very competitive.
17:36Great teacher.
17:37Patient.
17:38Getting to hear her talk about her family and what led her to where she is today was really, really special.
17:46She has determination and ambition, but she has such a big heart.
17:51I really hope my day was successful.
17:53I definitely think Barry and Dean enjoyed it.
17:56And then, at the end, big smiles all around.
17:59Barry.
18:00Yeah?
18:01Good luck tomorrow.
18:03You've got a tough act to follow.
18:04Okay.
18:05Today, it's Barry's chance to shine, and he's confident that his day has all the winning ingredients.
18:21I think I've got a wonderful day planned.
18:24I don't think it.
18:25I know it.
18:26For me, I want to give Oti and Dean some escapism.
18:30The thing I like doing most of all is relaxing and enjoying just quiet time.
18:35And it'll be interesting to see what they're like when they chill out.
18:39There's a slight air of trepidation because I don't know what's happening.
18:44And there's something telling me that Barry doesn't know what's happening either.
18:47He's a bit unorganized, I would say.
18:51But...
18:52All day yesterday, he thought we were in Spain.
18:56We had to remind Barry last night at the Portuguese folk dance that we were in Portugal.
19:01It's not looking good.
19:03I got a bit of sick from Oti about burning the rice and beans when I was in the jungle.
19:12Okay.
19:13So, I would love to cook them something nice, somewhere beautiful.
19:19I'd like to be out on the sea.
19:20We can work a lot with that.
19:21Okay.
19:22So, what about a luxury boat?
19:24You can go on, you can cook them a meal.
19:26There's a little market near where the boat's going to be.
19:28You can shop around.
19:29Barry, each morning, tries to coax me to go to the gym with him.
19:33He does.
19:34He thinks it's a lovely time, but it's just not my idea of a very nice day out.
19:38I'd love to do something physically demanding.
19:41Yeah, okay.
19:42So, I like all that sort of stuff.
19:44So, what do you recommend?
19:46Cool.
19:47I think kayaking would tick the box.
19:49What do you think?
19:50Perfect.
19:51And if you're having fun, you don't feel like you're working out.
19:52Exactly.
19:53Yeah.
19:54I think we've got something very special planned.
19:55It's both exciting and beautiful.
19:58I'm very much looking forward to seeing what Oti and Dean think about it.
20:03Barry's first activity is just east of the popular resort town of Alba Fira.
20:09It's meant to be a chilled out treat, but like everything Barry does,
20:12it involves a bit of a workout.
20:15Look at this.
20:17We're here at this spectacular looking beach and I'm going to bring them kayaking
20:22and we're going to go around the cove and it's going to be tough,
20:25but it's going to be beautiful.
20:27Where are we going?
20:28We are going to poodle along the coast and look at the spectacular views.
20:32The thing about professional boxing is it's a game of dropping weight
20:35and watching what you have to eat.
20:37After years and years of that, I've always kept myself in shape
20:40and I love kayaking.
20:42It's a really good workout, so I hope they enjoy it.
20:45I know I will.
20:46I hope they will too.
20:47We don't try and race or anything.
20:49It's just a bit of fun.
20:50Why don't I believe that?
20:52He didn't get to overtake you yesterday, so this might be Ding Ding Run 2.
20:55No, no, it's not Ding Ding Run 2.
20:57We just want you to be safe and enjoy it.
20:59That'll be fine.
21:00As long as we overtake you, that'll be absolutely fine.
21:02That's it.
21:03If you overtake me, you've had it.
21:04This too, the orange one and the yellow one are your kayaks.
21:08Wait, like the Portugal flag.
21:10It needs the green.
21:12Oh, is the green on the flag?
21:14It's green, yellow, red.
21:15I think this is Romania.
21:16Oh, is that not the Portugal flag?
21:17No.
21:18What's that?
21:19Safety.
21:20It's safety, yeah.
21:21Oh, that's...
21:22Flags are not my strong point.
21:24This is Romania.
21:25This activity is 100% Barry's type on paper.
21:30It's active, you're breaking a sweat, you're working your upper body.
21:34All of the things that we don't want to do on a holiday.
21:36All right, guys.
21:37OK, bye.
21:38Oh, look at that.
21:39Oti, look.
21:40Oh, stunning.
21:41Oh, I love this.
21:42Follow you.
21:43OK, left.
21:44Right.
21:45Cha-cha-cha.
21:46Right.
21:47Left.
21:48Cha-cha-cha.
21:49Wait, I feel like we're going in the wrong direction.
21:50Oh, no.
21:51I feel like every time you go opposite to me...
21:53Yeah, we're going the wrong way.
21:54Oh, no.
21:55We've been blown off course.
21:56Yeah.
21:57Are you sitting at home wishing you could be a holiday?
21:58Oh, no.
21:59Oh, no.
22:00Oh, no.
22:01Oh, no.
22:02Oh, no.
22:03Oh, no.
22:04Oh, no.
22:05Oh, no.
22:06Oh, no.
22:07Oh, no.
22:08Oh, no.
22:09Oh, no.
22:10Oh, no.
22:11Oh, no.

23:02The Great Escapers, brought to you by Jet 2 Holidays.
23:06Market stalls or cannonballs?
23:09Darling, hold my hand.
23:10The Great Escapers, brought to you by Jet 2 Holidays.
23:18In the deep blue Atlantic waters of the Algarve, former boxer Barry McGuigan is taking ex-Jungle
23:27mates Oti Mabusi and Dean McCulloch kayaking in an attempt to win the title of Greatest Escaper.
23:32It's Barry's idea of the perfect day out.
23:35His friends?
23:36Hmm.
23:37Not so much.
23:38How do you go in a straight line, Barry?
23:40I just do this.
23:41Oti, can you do what I do?
23:43Yeah.
23:44So we can get a wee better movement?
23:46I'm doing it.
23:47Hey, why are you not ruined?
23:49I mean, I've done my years on straight line.
23:51I don't need this hard work.
23:52My arms are burning.
23:53I was hot in the sand.
23:55And then I thought, you've got this?
23:58I just hate it so much.
24:00Barry, what's the plan here?
24:02Because I fear I've lost my co-pilot.
24:04She's half asleep.
24:05I mean, I know by the looks of things, you want to make your way round to Alicante.
24:08I want to go out to the Atlantic Ocean.
24:10I know I can tell.
24:11You're not ready for that?
24:12Yeah.
24:13Let's get back to the base then.
24:14Let's get back, thank you guys.
24:15Okey do.
24:16Are we going to race?
24:17Yeah.
24:18You ready?
24:19Yeah, let's do it.
24:20Ready?
24:21Three, two, one, go.
24:22Remember, left, right, left.
24:23Go!
24:25Let's go!
24:26Right!
24:27Come on!
24:28Come on!
24:29Come on!
24:30Go!
24:31Go!
24:32We're actually beating him!
24:33Oh my God, we're beating Larry!
24:34I know you're beating us, you're beating me!
24:36Come on!
24:37We're beating him!
24:38Go!
24:39Go!
24:40We're beating him!
24:41Come on!
24:42No, you're not beating me yet!
24:43Come on!
24:44We're beating him!
24:45We're beating him!
24:46Ah!
24:47It's going to be delicious!
24:48No!
24:49Ah!
24:50Oh!
24:51We beat you there!
24:52Yes, you did.
24:53I have to say.
24:54I had a lovely time, and what I loved even more was beating Barry.
24:59Oh, yes!
25:00Woo-hoo!
25:01Ah!
25:02Ah!
25:03Ah!
25:04I hope they enjoyed it, because after all, this is a competition.
25:08And it's whoever puts on the best say, I want to win!
25:17Thank you very much, Barry.
25:18I appreciate it.
25:19You're welcome.
25:20Yeah, it was great.
25:21Thank you, Barry.
25:22It was good fun, thanks.
25:23It was really inspiring to see you literally still going, giving it.
25:25Yeah, thank you.
25:26All the guests you had, and I can't believe you still have it.
25:28That's amazing.
25:29When you're a fighter, it's with you to the day you die.
25:32The day when I stopped boxing, it was a hard thing to come to terms with, but...
25:36Was it like a loss?
25:37Yeah, fierce loss.
25:38The effort that I put in, and the pain that I suffered to get into shape, was, like, incredible.
25:44For you, when you had those low moments, those tough moments, what were they, and how did you get over them?
25:50Losing my title in Vegas, just over a year after I'd won the title, and I fought 15 rounds.
25:55What?
25:56Yeah, I fought 15 rounds, yeah.
25:57And I was knocked down in the 15th round from sheer exhaustion.
26:02It wasn't, I wasn't hurt.
26:03I was simply unable to hold my hands up.
26:05Wow.
26:06And get out of the way, so...
26:08I said, right, that part of my life is finished now, so...
26:11I was only champion for a year, and I never regained the title, which was disappointing.
26:16But you have to change and refocus.
26:19That's the way I've lived my life.
26:20I've always been competitive.
26:22I've always wanted to do well at whatever I've done.
26:26Barry really opened up about how hard he pushed himself physically and mentally
26:31throughout his career to get to the success that he has.
26:35It was also really nice to hear Barry talking about grieving the loss of his career,
26:41and something I hadn't really thought of before, so the fact that he shared that with us
26:44and was honest and said that it was really difficult was brave of him.
26:48Yeah, and letting go.
26:54The kayaks were challenging, whereas now we have a very relaxed evening.
26:59We're going to be taking him out on a lovely boat.
27:02They're going to have delicious food with a spectacular panoramic view of the coastline.
27:08I'm here today to buy some fish, and I'm going to do the cooking this evening.
27:12Didn't you make us eat burnt rice and burnt beans?
27:15I did that many times.
27:17Oh, boy.
27:20At home, I'm lazy, so my wife cooks for me, so it's the first time.
27:24I've got a question for you.
27:25Yeah?
27:26Have you ever cooked fish before?
27:27Yes, I have.
27:28It's going to be fabulous.
27:29That's some good fish.
27:30Red fish here.
27:31Oh.
27:32Can I hold it?
27:33See?
27:34See.
27:35Those are some eyes.
27:36Oh, wow.
27:40It slipped out of my hand.
27:41I'm sorry.
27:42Oh, give him a clean.
27:44Yeah, okay.
27:45Give him a wash.
27:46I'm so sorry.
27:47What is this?
27:48Saulo.
27:49Gal negro.
27:50It's like a chicken.
27:51Gal is like a rooster.
27:52Galo negro would be the one, yeah.
27:53Okay.
27:54Absolutely.
27:55Can you fill a dish first?
27:56Yeah.
27:57Of course.
27:58That would be great.
27:59I think they'll be apprehensive about my cooking.
28:01No doubt about it, but...
28:02And I'd be a bit nervous about it because I know that they were given out about the burnt beans and rice,
28:08so I want to do a better job today.
28:10I'm scared because he said, Sandra does everything for me.
28:14His wife.
28:15So now I'm like, oh, she's not here.
28:18Mmm.
28:19Maybe in the jungle he just thought, I'm not going to tell everyone that I'm a really good cook,
28:22otherwise they're going to make me the camp chef.
28:24Yeah.
28:25It's all going to come out today.
28:26Wow.
28:27We don't want to eat the fisheye because that's quite triggering for us.
28:29Yeah, you want me to take him out?
28:30No, no, no.
28:31Leave him.
28:32Leave him in.
28:33I had to eat them.
28:34I had to eat them.
28:35I had like 14 of them.
28:36Yes.
28:38I remember now.
28:39Oh, the penny's dropped, has it?
28:41Barry's hoping his last surprise will distract Oti and Dean from his terrible cooking skills by serving them dinner on a luxury catamaran.
28:53Oh, Barry.
28:54Look at this.
28:55No way.
28:56You cannot say I haven't treated you.
28:58Are we going on this boat?
28:59Yes, sir.
29:00No.
29:01We are going out to sea.
29:03No, let's get out of here.
29:05Yeah.
29:06Let's go.
29:07It's good.
29:09All I imagine myself is just being like.
29:14Oti, you're like a Bond girl.
29:16I love it.
29:20This is so beautiful.
29:22I didn't expect this from Barry.
29:24No.
29:25Go on.
29:27Oh, that was so underwhelming.
29:29I mean, he's slaving away in the kitchen right now.
29:32Yes, he is.
29:33So, we are hopeful that this isn't going to turn out like a bush trigger tile.
29:37Oh, yeah.
29:38So, when was the last time you cooked a meal?
29:42Oh, not long back.
29:44A couple of weeks.
29:45And what was it?
29:46Baked potatoes.
29:47And beans and grated cheese.
29:54Oh, for the love of God.
29:55And did you put it in the microwave?
29:57Of course I did.
30:02Barry's meal of boiled potatoes and fried fish is finally ready to be served.
30:08A big step up from burnt rice and beans.
30:11Right, guys.
30:12Here we are.
30:13This is giving me flashbacks.
30:15Do you know what I mean?
30:16Yes, yes.
30:19Sandra, your wife would be very proud of this dish.
30:22Well, thank you, Dean.
30:23And in fact, I think when she watches this, she's going to make you do more cooking.
30:26Exactly.
30:27That's the problem.
30:28So, how did you and Sandra meet?
30:30Well, we couldn't not meet because we lived across the road from one another.
30:33So, we grew up with each other, basically.
30:35And how long have you been married?
30:37This is our 44th year.
30:39Wow.
30:40Long time.
30:41I gave Sandy a ring when I was five years old.
30:44When you were five?
30:45Five years old.
30:46I gave her a wedding ring.
30:47She kept it.
30:48Oh, my word.
30:49So, there you are.
30:50Wow.
30:51I'm still madly in love with her.
30:52And I hope she's still madly in love with me.
30:54It's amazing.
30:55Barry has done well.
30:56The beginning of the day was hell.
30:58I hated it.
31:00But this, the food, everything else, I absolutely loved.
31:05Barry, this has been such a great meal.
31:07Such a great day, actually.
31:09I didn't expect Barry to want to do stuff like this on holiday and to share a sunset
31:15with us.
31:16It seems almost sentimental.
31:18What a perfect way to end an amazing day from Barry.
31:21The food was great.
31:22The crack was great.
31:23The chats were great.
31:24It was brilliant.
31:25This has been one hell of a day.
31:28To finish off out on our catamaran, I think it's going to be a tough task to measure up to.
31:41Dean is the last to plan his day.
31:43And if he wants to win, he's got a hard act to follow after all the quad bikes and kayaks.
31:48My dream holiday soaks up culture, fun, and I love going out and having a good time.
31:54But I think this morning it might be quite nice to kick back and relax a wee bit.
31:58What is the spa culture like in the Algarve?
32:02So I've got the perfect spa in mind for you.
32:04Very natural.
32:05Keep you in touch with your jungle side as well as a trio.
32:08I don't think Barry's ever been to a spa.
32:10In the jungle he was constantly brushing his hair and then his mum gifted him skin care for his skin.
32:15So he's quite a luxurious person.
32:18That might have something to do with it.
32:20Maybe we'll go shopping.
32:21Maybe we'll go shopping.
32:23No, my worst nightmare.
32:25So I love when I go away to be in amongst the trees or on the beach.
32:30So have you heard of razor clam fishing?
32:32No, tell me about it.
32:33Okay.
32:34I used to do this actually back when I was a little boy.
32:36It's actually really therapeutic as well.
32:38Is it?
32:39Yeah.
32:40Do you think what he does on holiday is something that you would typically do on holiday?
32:43No.
32:44So he's got his work cut out for him.
32:46He's got his work cut out.
32:47I think I'm going to have to lump it.
32:49We've not been able to let our hair down together much since we left the jungle.
32:53Yeah.
32:54So I think to end the trip on a high, I need to take Barry and Odie down the strip.
32:59Love it.
33:00Odie's strength is dancing.
33:02Barry's strength is boxing.
33:04My strength is taking holidays from work.
33:08So I think I've got this.
33:13Where does it look like we are, Odie?
33:14It looks like we are in literally the middle of nowhere.
33:17Yeah.
33:18They're actually heading towards the Spanish border and the Castro Marim Nature Reserve,
33:23where Dean's planning to win over Odie and Barry with a relaxing spa day.
33:27We're here at a salt spa and there is wellness in the air.
33:32Because we've had quite a busy few days and it's time to just kick back, relax and float in the salty water.
33:40Look at this.
33:41Wow.
33:42Today we're going to be pampered.
33:44We're going to be preened.
33:45That's great.
33:46Barry, you're about to get a glow up and you're going to come out of here like a shiny two-pence piece.
33:50I don't need to be any more shiny.
33:52Look at my head.
33:53We need to cover ourselves in the salt, really exfoliate your body.
33:58And then we just float in the water.
34:00Yeah.
34:01This is the part where I wish I had have gone to the gym, Barry.
34:05They used to have rock hard abdominals.
34:07Now, unfortunately, I've got a duvet over the top of them.
34:10You look wonderful.
34:11Oh.
34:12How do we even reach the mud yet?
34:14Yeah.
34:15Oh, babes.
34:16Oh, yeah.
34:17I'm going on holiday with you forever.
34:21Don't think we've forgotten about you at home because you could also be in with a chance to win a seven-night holiday to the Algarve courtesy of Jet 2 Holidays.

34:44being with a chance to win a seven-night holiday to the Algarve courtesy of Jet 2 Holidays we're
34:50also throwing in three thousand pounds spending money too enter now for free go to the website

35:09the great escapers brought to you by Jet 2 holidays beach funday or ice cream sunday
35:18the great escapers brought to you by Jet 2 holidays
35:25after two hectic days in the Algarve Dean's hoping to find the winning formula by giving his old
35:37jungle mates Oti and Barry a very different day out he's brought them to a salt spa for his
35:42favourite activity relaxing can i let you both into a secret go on so i've kept my jungle outfit
35:51in a bag in my bedroom and i've still not washed it yeah same
35:59i can't bring myself to put it in the machine every time i'm missing you's i just go and sniff
36:03the clothes and that pungent smell of cockroaches and fish guts reminds me of you too you're welcome
36:11just the two of us only us two
36:17and now we bake
36:21do you remember those feelings that you felt when you left the jungle
36:26yeah i got out and i was on such a high and i really wish that that's where it ended because
36:37i'd been sent quite a few death threats i didn't know you had uh death threats i've never ever had
36:44but it was something like 35 35 yeah there was 35 i think it's classified now as aggravated malicious
36:52contact is the official term for it my agent said like there are threats to come to your work in the
36:59morning i was like for what for like saying i'm a celebrity get me out of here because i didn't want
37:06to be trapped in a box like what have i said what have i done and they said i don't think it's what
37:10you've done i think it's who you are yeah and then i realized oh yeah homophobia is still right and
37:19there's no getting away from that then i start going over the things in my head that i could
37:23have done differently but now you're dimming your own lights for other people to satisfy them and
37:29you know you can never make anyone happy i had the time of my life i don't regret a single thing
37:36even the screaming yeah i was a bit shocked to hear that dean had um death stress whoever threatened
37:43them it sounds ridiculous to actually go out and threaten someone is just unacceptable i have to
37:49remember that as long as my mum is proud of me and my boyfriend is proud of me that's all that matters
37:56because i won't be able to keep everyone happy because if i was everyone's cup of tea i'd be a mug
38:00yeah and with this clay on us i think that could be happening pretty soon as we speak
38:06dean's love of mindfulness and nature is also the inspiration for his next activity
38:18when i'm on holiday i like to do things that you wouldn't normally get to do i had a little look
38:22and a chat with geo and he's recommended this spot which is very famous for clam fishing it's going to be
38:29very relaxing okay how many times can you say you went on holiday and you fished for clams barry no never

42:18because i came to the alba fair strip but i can't remember leaving oh god and look i'm five years
42:24sober this year and i thought that i would show you guys how you can still have fun in a night out
42:31in sobriety exactly barry what made you stop drinking alcoholism is
42:39in my family and there was one monday i was going to work on the way out i was stepping over bottles that
42:44were due to go down to the bin and there was a two liter bottle of vodka four bottles of wine and
42:50all these tins of gin and tonics never in my life did i ever think i would drink that much
42:56and i knew i had a problem and i said to my best mate i think i'm just going to stop drinking for
43:01a month and just see what happens and the one month turned into six months turned into a year
43:07having the courage to do that takes an awful lot of effort so congratulations
43:11thank you mate i know you get it i know you get it mate and i thought tonight is the night for us
43:15to let our hair down get our dancing shoes on and party cheers baby this is something new the
43:24casper slide part two and this time we're gonna get funky we met in the jungle but we never had a night

44:19with oti and barry and coming back here to show them the chaos that i used to be it really has felt special
44:31it was great to see dean doing this thing he's really good at what he does and you could see
44:34how he gets the audience all worked up
44:40seeing dean in his natural habitat was i think just unforgettable he loves djing he loves clubbing
44:49and he's done this all so good shall we have a nightcap we have to have a nightcap what are we
44:55thinking whiskey and chamomile tea

45:15yeah so i think we've got to come to the stage now where we've got to make our mind up on who's
45:19one out of your day was pretty amazing when you surprised us with these incredible buggies it was
45:28phenomenal it's almost like you picked it especially for me barry i did not know what to expect with your
45:33day but i loved learning about you barry i love it when you talk about how much you love your wife and
45:38we went on the catamaran and then you cooked and we didn't die of food poisoning
45:46and then dean the spa was fantastic the way you opened up about the jungle we hadn't realized what

46:45dean and barry definitely have surprised me i mean there were bits about dean that i didn't know that
46:51then just getting to know who barry was and how he lights up when he talks about his wife we have
46:56experienced a once in a lifetime opportunity together living in the jungle so the fact that we've came here
47:02we've almost debriefed i'm actually a bit sad to be leaving this has been the best holiday that i
47:07have ever been on group hack to the greatest game oh yeah i'm absolutely thrilled to win this and of
47:15course the bottom line is i've learned so much more about dean and ot and they'll be my friends for
