01:37Dad's on the phone and he's lecturing me about a girl that he met back when he was 19.
01:44It's never gonna work cause the puzzle won't be.
01:47Hey!
01:49Head out the window.
01:51Sweat on the pillow.
01:54It's been keeping me up at night.
01:56Cause this is what love feels like, all right.
02:00Seems like it's your day.
02:02Keeps getting colder.
02:05But, babe, I was raised in a cold.
02:09Just wish I could do what I'm told.
02:12Oh, now.
02:14Dad's on the phone and he's lecturing me about a girl that he met back when he was 19.
02:20It's never gonna work cause the puzzle won't be.
02:24Hey!
02:25Son of a gun, but I know it is right.
02:28Cause the girl that I love never treated me nice.
02:32Writings on the wall, I pretend I can't read.
02:36Oh, you're forgetting me.
02:42Losing my patience.
02:45Confusing the waitress.
02:48And asking way too much.
02:51Why am I still in love?
02:53Somebody who leaves me.
02:56Hey!
02:57Way too easy.
02:59She said, honey, you'll be all right.
03:03Cause she gets paid to be nice.
03:06Oh, hell.
03:07Dad's on the phone and he's lecturing me about a girl that he met back when he was 19.
03:13It's never gonna work cause the puzzle won't be.
03:17Son of a gun, but I know that he is right.
03:22Cause the girl that I love never treated me nice.
03:25Writings on the wall, I pretend I can't read.

03:40You are forgetting me.
03:42Oh, you're forgetting me, Dad's on the phone and he's lecturing me
03:56But a girl that he met back when he was 19
03:59It's never gonna work, cause the puzzle won't piece
04:03Hey, nah, nah, nah, son of a gun, but I know that he's right
04:08Cause a girl that I love never treated me nice
04:11Riders on the wall, I pretend I can't read
04:15Oh, you're forgetting me
04:17Oh, hello, Austin, you beautiful people
04:29I'm very grateful to be on the stage
04:37This is a very legendary stage
04:38And I am lucky to be here
04:41In a beautiful city
04:43We was bragging about investments
04:51She was talking about Ozempic
04:53Every dinner had a guest list
04:55Guess it's hell on earth
04:57Who told us she seemed unstable
04:59She got up and left the table
05:01Guess it's hard to find an angel
05:03When it's hell on earth
05:05Hell on earth
05:07Yeah!
05:12Sometimes it gets so hard to listen
05:16They sent foot back to the kitchen
05:18Said they wanted something different
05:20Could you get it much worse?
05:22Can't get dinner as a favor
05:24But it's feeling more like labor
05:26Cause I told them see you later
05:28Gave them hell on earth
05:30Well, I tried my best tonight
05:35Don't know what for
05:38I click my heels three times
05:43We're not in Kansas anymore

06:14Unapplauded and unashamed
06:16I'm the child and my mother
06:18New England born and raised
06:21Where the common sense is coming
06:23As an old job in L.A.
06:25Well
06:25I tried my best tonight
06:29Don't know what for
06:32I passed the welcome sign
06:37As I'm walking out the door
06:40Take me home
06:42Take me home
06:44Hey
06:48Take me home
06:52Take me home
06:59I know it's time to go
07:01When there's cocaine on the nose
07:03And they start asking who you know
07:05At the table
07:06Grab my coat
07:07Let's get the goodbyes in the road
07:09I swear they wouldn't even notice
07:11If I never even show
07:13So
07:14Take me home
07:20Take me home
07:29Take me home
07:33Take me home

12:16Oh, I just want to dance a little bit
12:28I remember when the days were on
12:56All recliners in the yard
13:00Kicking hands up to her favorite song
13:04All the boys were playing cards
13:08Always felt like something's missing
13:12Ever since she hung the lights
13:18Now it's one night stands
13:20And overthinking

21:00Oh yeah
21:14Hey
21:22I'm in Sally at a late night dog bar
21:26She don't dance but she downs her drinks
21:30I do a friend, she's a born again wild card
21:34She was telling me wild things
21:37She was telling me wild things
21:41I was down the street past the 7-Eleven
21:46Just close enough that I spent the night
21:50She grabbed my hand at the intersection
21:54I spilled my guts at the red light
21:57Sally, that feeling's coming around
22:03Please don't go falling in love
22:07And disappear when the wine comes out
22:12Sally, I buy a couple of rounds
22:19Don't let me think I'm not
22:23And disappear when the wine comes out
22:29Sally!
22:37Well, I open up while she's flipping through pages
22:42Getting lonely as the days get dark
22:46If you're bored and your mind starts changing
22:50Maybe just give me a little stop
22:53And I, I see the glass in their eyes
22:59Just trying to keep it alive
23:03Crying out loud
23:05Sally, that feeling's coming around
23:11Please don't go falling in love
23:15And disappear when the wine comes out
23:21And disappear when the wine comes out
23:23Sally, I buy a couple of rounds
23:27Don't let me think I'm not
23:31And disappear when the wine comes out
23:37Oh, here we go again
23:41Falling head first
23:43Angles hit the two-step
23:45Sally makes my head hurt
23:47But through the grapevine
23:49She can be a diva
23:51Go like Minnesota
23:52Hotter than a fever
23:53I'll say
23:55Can we go again
23:56I'm falling head first
23:57Angles hit the two-step
23:59Sally makes my head hurt
24:01But through the grapevine
24:03She can be a diva
24:05Go like Minnesota
24:07Hotter than a fever
24:09Sally!
24:11That feeling's coming around
24:13Please don't go falling in love
24:16Please don't go falling in love
24:19And disappear when the wine runs out
24:24Yeah, Sally!
24:26Sally, I buy a couple around
24:30Don't let me think I'm not
24:32And disappear when the wine runs out
24:36And disappear when the wine runs out
24:41You said, my journal probably looks like the same way as me writing a song.
25:03It's just a product of how I think and process things and how I try to look back in a loving way.
25:11That's a pretty profound statement.
25:14I find it fascinating because it's such a positive, optimistic spin on what I feel like most of humanity wouldn't necessarily put a positive spin on.
25:30It would be more, let's just wallow in the feelings.
25:33I feel like I'm always on the edge of just slipping down that rabbit hole of just like one negative thought could just send me into this like spiral.
25:46I feel like I ride this fence and I put in so much effort every day to like not do that and to have a positive outlook.
25:59Like because it's easy for me to just spin like that out of control and just think everything is going wrong or whatever.
26:10Um, and so I do, I do like put in effort and like I do journal and when I journal, I'm like, I hit the positive things usually to, I just, I don't, I think wallowing in something or like looking back in anger in any way is just would, it just shoots me down a spiral that I don't need to go down any.
26:34I understand, I get that, I get that for sure.
26:37Next, a newcomer with an old soul and ragged rock sensibility, MJ Lenderman.
26:43Birds against a heavy wind
26:46That winds in the end
26:49One of these days
26:52With shorts full of sand
26:55One of these days
26:59You'll kill a man
27:01For asking a question
27:06You don't understand
27:09Some have passion
27:19While some have purpose
27:21You have sneaking backstage
27:25To hound the girls in the circus
27:30You've opened the Bible
27:47In a public place
27:50You've opened the Bible
27:55To the very first page
27:58And one of these days
28:01And one of these days
28:02It will all end
28:05Your tired approach
28:09To original sin
28:12You've been betting on horses
28:24Name Johnny come lately
28:26You've been high on the hog
28:45And your dog seems to hate you
28:48He once was a baby
28:52And now a jerk
28:54Standing close to the fire
28:59And the fire works
29:02Once a perfect little baby
29:06Who's now a jerk
29:09Standing close to the fire
29:13When we find the fireworks
29:20When we find the fireworks
29:55You're clothed back on, she's leaving you.
30:02No time to apologize for the things you do.
30:12Go rent a Ferrari and sing the blues.
30:19We then left and was the second coming.
30:30It falls apart, we all got work to do.
30:36It gets dark, we all got work to do.
30:46She's leaving.
30:55She's leaving.
31:01She's leaving.
31:02She's leaving.
31:03She's leaving.
31:04She's leaving.
31:05She's leaving.
31:07She's leaving.
31:09She's leaving.
31:10She's leaving.
31:11She's leaving.
31:12She's leaving.
31:13She's leaving.
31:14She's leaving.
31:16She's leaving.
31:17She's leaving.
31:18She's leaving.
31:19She's leaving.
31:20She's leaving.
31:21She's leaving.
31:22She's leaving.
31:23She's leaving.
31:24She's leaving.
31:25She's leaving.
31:26She's leaving.
31:27She's leaving.
31:28She's leaving.
31:29She's leaving.
31:30She's leaving.
31:31She's leaving.
31:32She's leaving.
31:33She's leaving.
31:34She's leaving.
31:35She's leaving.
31:36She's leaving.
31:37I'm now here.
31:38It falls apart
31:47We all got work to do
31:50It gets dark
31:56We all got work to do
31:59And she's leaving
32:05She's leaving
32:15She's leaving
32:35It falls apart
33:01We all got work to do
33:03It gets dark
33:10We all got work to do
33:13It falls apart
33:19We all got work to do
33:22It gets dark
33:28We all got work to do
33:31She's leaving
33:37She's leaving
33:46She's leaving
33:50She's leaving
33:56She's leaving
34:05She's leaving
34:07She's leaving
34:09She's leaving
34:11She's leaving
34:13She's leaving
34:15She's leaving
34:17She's leaving
34:19She's leaving
34:21She's leaving
34:23So you say I've got a funny face
34:53Well, it makes me money
35:00So you say I've wasted my life away
35:12Well, I've got a picture of a monkey buffalo
35:20And a wristwatch that's encompassing a cell phone
35:28And a wristwatch that tells me I'm all alone
35:38So you say I've got a picture of a monkey
35:40And a wristwatch that tells me I'm all alone
35:45And a wristwatch that tells me I'm all alone
35:48So you say I'm all alone
35:50And a wristwatch that tells me I'm all alone
35:53I'd still take your amazing grace
36:15I'd give all my money
36:23And I'd still take your pretty face
36:35Cause I've got my houseboat docked at the hemboat dock
36:43And a wristwatch that's a pocket knife
36:48And a megaphone
36:51And a wristwatch that tells me I'm all alone
37:01And a wristwatch that tells me I'm all alone
37:11And a wristwatch that tells me I'm all alone

39:05Some say
39:06The distance grows the heart
39:13But I know
39:15Sometimes we just drift apart
39:22Everybody's walking in twos
39:27Even Noah's are
39:31It's a Sunday at the water park
39:40We sat under a half-assed McDonald's flat
39:58We sat under a half-assed McDonald's flat

40:13Past my window
40:15And you don't know

41:12To me
41:17Clear enough
41:28Singing its lonesome duck walk

41:45Singing its lonesome duck walk
41:52What else can you say
41:56To help a friend of a broken heart
42:01When you don't know

44:00Was it a pizza that poisoned him in Utah?
44:08With a hotel bill of food, $3,000 on just five days.
44:17I bought fake Jordans.
44:36They weren't even shoes.
44:42Oh, he looked so sick.
44:46It was all over the news.
44:49It wasn't a pizza and it wasn't the fruit.
44:58And I love drinking, too.
45:01I love drinking, too.
45:06I love drinking, too.

50:19thank you
50:22I actually think I'm pretty optimistic
50:47I mean I think I'm cynical in some ways
50:50but you know on a day-to-day basis
50:54I feel like I'm the more optimistic person in the group
51:02like maybe even a stupid way
51:05but yeah I don't know
51:08I think it's hard not to be cynical in the world view goes and living in America
51:18and yeah the way that society has progressed over the years and the world that I've grown up in is
51:29it's easy I mean it's hard to be optimistic about you know where the world is headed I guess
51:38I think the guitar entered my life when I was like seven
51:42and it's been something I've been doing well the lessons started when I think I was seven or eight
51:53and I took them with my best friend growing up we took them together so I always had somebody to play with
52:01and we were on this kind of journey together and we had a drum set too so one of us would play drums and the other would play guitar and we'd switch back and forth and so we learned you know how to make music together at a super young age and we're really lucky for that
52:21We'll see you next time
