00:04Michael B. Jordan, like many others, is saying he believed the late Chadwick Boseman would win the Best Actor Oscar for his celebrated performance in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom.
00:13The two actors worked closely together on Black Panther, and while on Sirius XM's The Just Kegel Show, Jordan opened up about the Oscar moment, saying while he was disappointed Boseman did not win, it did not take away from his legacy.
00:24There's no win that can take anything away from the lives around the world that he impacted, his family, myself included.
00:36He continued saying,
00:37So you've got to look at the things that we can control, and the gifts and the blessings that he left us, and that's this incredible body of work.
00:43Jordan also admitted that he did not immediately watch Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, Boseman's final performance before his untimely death, because he could not bear that there would be no future work from his friend.
00:54In hindsight, that would be, you know, his last performance that people had an opportunity to actually see, you know, to be able to watch.
01:04So you want to kind of savor that moment.
01:06The actor added,
01:07It was an incredible performance, him giving everything he had.
01:11At the 93rd Academy Awards, Anthony Hopkins won the Best Actor Oscar for his work in The Father and honored Boseman in a message after winning.
