00:11The Agricultural Department steps in with a maximum suggested retail price,

00:15ensuring shoppers aren't left holding the bag this holiday season, as Arvel Custodio reports.

00:23Consumers like Donna and Angie are finding ways to save as the prices of onions and carrots continues to rise.

00:30Yung maliliit na lang, kaya kung malaki, hatiin na lang.

00:34Nagtatanim na lang ako ng ibang gulay, yung kaya kong itanim, tinatanim ko.

00:38Tapos yung iba, pagka mura, ano ba, o mustasa, i-preserve mo na lang.

00:44Pag malaki-laki naman yung sibuyas, dalawang lotuan na po yun, nahatiin lang po sa gitna, para tipit.

00:50Red onions are being sold from 250 to 330 pesos per kilo,

00:55while carrots cost 120 to 200 pesos, based on the DA's Bantay Precio Monitoring.

01:02Kasi meron nga red onion, naririnig ako, may 300, may 160, may 180, that's too much.

01:07Tapos meron nga nagbebenta ng red onion na ganyang kaliit, pinalalabas nila na local yun.

01:12Hindi ho totoo yun.

01:13Binobola kayo ng mga retailer kasi wala ng red onion.

01:16Imported din yun.

01:17Kaya binibenta nila na mas mataas, dinideklar na nila as imported.

01:22So para sa onion, ang magiging MSRP na local at imported should be 120 until end of January.

01:30With the implementation of the maximum suggested retail price beginning of December 1,

01:35the highest retail price for onion and carrot should only be 120 pesos per kilo.

01:39The MSRP for pork will also be reinstated at 340 pesos per kilo for pork shoulder or casim and pork leg or pigue,

01:48and 370 pesos per liempo or pork belly.

01:51Freshly slaughtered carcass or sabit ulo will also be priced at 210 pesos.

01:57The Agriculture Department is also looking into the possibility of increasing tariff on imported pork.

02:02Furthermore, regarding the detected African swine fever cases in several stock farms in the Loma Quezon City,

02:08Agriculture Secretary Francisco Chulaurel Jr. said that it is only an isolated case.

03:37The DA and Department of Trade and Industry continue to inspect markets to ensure proper pricing.

03:42The agencies will issue show-cause order to retailers questionable pricing

03:46to trace those manipulating the prices for basic goods.
