00:00It's going to be very exciting to see John at the end of the election year as well.
00:04Right.
00:05That is watchable.
00:07John Oliver, Trevor Noah, and more Daily Show veterans are reacting to John Stewart's return to the desk of the Comedy Central series.
00:15On Wednesday, it was announced that Stewart, who led the Daily Show from 1999 to 2015,
00:20has agreed to return as host on Monday nights through the 2024 election.
00:24Former Daily Show correspondent turned last week to night host Oliver
00:27happened to be taping an interview with NBC's Willie Geist when the news broke, and he was caught off guard.
00:32What do you think?
00:33I mean, that is a surprise.
00:36Yeah, that is a show that needs a host.
00:38He certainly is a very, very good one.
00:41So, yeah, it'll be exciting to see what he does.
00:43He went on to compare Stewart's Daily Show Homecoming to NBA legend Michael Jordan's return to the Chicago Bulls in 1995 after retiring from the game.
00:51Back in for another bite at the apple.
00:53That's right.
00:53Wow.
00:54Yeah, Jordan's back.
00:55However, Oliver added that the show should appoint a permanent host after Stewart's run, naming Amber Ruffin and Roy Wood Jr. as strong contenders.
01:03Noah, who succeeded Stewart in the host chair, also weighed in on the news.
01:07He reposted Stewart on social media and wrote, yes, he's back.
01:11And Daily Show contributor and former correspondent Jordan Klepper said, this dude's been juicing.
01:16He also wrote on Instagram, welcome home, JS, under this picture of Stewart back at the Daily Show desk.
