The pair, who are fully vaccinated, left shortly before Vice President Kamala Harris was set to be interviewed in-studio
Transcript
00:00Two of you to step off for a second.
00:01Okay.
00:02Anna and Sonny have to leave.
00:06The View co-hosts Anna Navarro and Sonny Hostin left the ABC program mid-show on Friday after
00:11testing positive for COVID-19. Navarro and Hostin, who were both fully vaccinated, left the set
00:16minutes before Vice President Kamala Harris was scheduled to appear in studio for an interview.
00:21As co-host Joy Behar was about to introduce Harris, an off-camera voice interrupted and
00:25asked Navarro and Hostin to step off set, causing confusion in the studio.
00:29More information later. It's a tease.
00:31We'll tell you why in a couple of minutes.
00:33So shall I introduce the Vice President?
00:35Yes.
00:36Harris later appeared on the show remotely from another studio at ABC's New York headquarters.
00:40After the show returned from a commercial break, Behar and Sarah Haynes told the audience what
00:44happened.
00:45Since this is going to be a major news story any minute now, what happened is that Sonny and
00:50Anna both apparently tested positive for COVID, no matter how hard we try, these things happen.
00:55Behar went on to say this.
00:57They probably have a breakthrough case and they'll be okay, I'm sure, because they're both vaccinated
01:01up the wazoo, you know, a lot of vaccines.
