00:00They love the World Wrestling Federation in London, as the honky-tonk man makes his way to the world.
00:30The honky-tonk man, really a great wrestler, look at this gentleman here.
00:38This contest is scheduled for a one fall, about to enter the ring with his manager, Colonel Jimmy Hart, from Memphis, Tennessee, weighing 248 pounds, the honky-tonk man.
00:54The honky-tonk man, that lady loves the way he shakes.
01:03Thank you very much. You're a beautiful audience. Thank you. Thank you very much.
01:14I'm not going to let you down the honky-tonk man, I'd be glad to sing for you.
01:17Oh, I bet you he will.
01:19And the music of life.
01:20Oh yeah, why not?
01:22Oh yeah, you like this.
01:25Because I think it's a very good voice.
01:26Why don't you sing along with me then?
01:30Go ahead.
01:33Matt, wait till you hear this crowd.
01:37They are going to erupt, obviously.
01:42They cut his music.
01:43Why did they do that?
01:44Well, I rather like his singing.
01:47Well, he can always sing a cappella, can't he?
01:49I mean, the great singers of the world sing a cappella.
01:53They do, do they?
01:56Oh, the fans really erupt him!
01:58And his opponent, from Glens Falls, New York, weighing 280 pounds, King Duggan!
02:11King Duggan!
02:12Hacksaw, Jim Duggan, making his way to the arena floor!
02:19He's the best, say the British.
02:22And he's the most exciting, too!
02:27A lot of Hacksaw, Jim Duggan, two-by-fours in the crowd, also.
02:32They certainly are the symbol of this man's trade.
02:36The symbol of the working classes, who he represents.
02:39He certainly is a most charismatic man.
02:45I guess, Lord Alfred, he would fit right into the House of Commons.
02:50Yes, I think he would.
02:51Okay.
02:52Although he has a little noble gear there.
02:54Maybe he'd fit into the House of Lords as well.
02:56Okay.
03:06One thing is obviously clear there.
03:09Honky Tonk doesn't want to be in the ring while he's doing that.
03:14Oh, I love this.
03:19The fans right with King Duggan.
03:22Oh, what a tremendous crowd we have in the London Arena.
03:25We are right in the Docklands, Lime Harbor.
03:33And would you listen to this?
03:37Only Hacksaw, Jim Duggan, to get the British to chant USA!
03:41Yes!
03:42A little swing of the two-by-four, a little loosening up there.
03:47And a very disconsolate honky-tonk man on the outside.
03:50I was getting ready to say, where in the world is the honky-tonk man?
03:53He has to be very irate.
03:58He lost now.
04:02Oh, this is a great moment in WWF history right here.
04:07And there is that symbol there, the two-by-four on the outside of the ring.
04:11So the referee has managed to get Hacksaw to put it down.
04:15At least for a moment or two.
04:17Knock at him!
04:18The charismatic Hacksaw, Jim Duggan, sending a honky-tonk man.
04:21I was going to say that this has not been a good start for the honky-tonk man.
04:25They cut his singing short, thank goodness.
04:30And they brought in King Duggan.
04:33We really got a good shot of Duggan there.
04:36He is so brimful of confidence.
04:39And as far as the honky-tonk man is concerned,
04:42discretion was definitely the better part of valor, just then.
04:46Man's right with, inside Jim Duggan.
04:49And the honky-tonk man takes a low road once again.
04:52Look at that lady there.
04:54She just loves him.
04:56Referee is having some difficulty here controlling,
05:00one, Hacksaw, Jim Duggan,
05:01and two, getting honky-tonk into the ring.
05:09If you people...
05:10Well, they're not going to let him talk.
05:13If you people don't shut up,
05:15the honky-tonk man's not going to sing for you tonight.
05:22Sue Pollard at ringside.
05:24I really don't think the people care whether he sings or not.
05:28Maybe they don't want him to sing.
05:33Look at the crowd, Alfred.
05:34What a tremendous crowd.
05:35Thumbs up.
05:39Thumbs up.
05:43As Hacksaw is on the outside, chasing the honky-tonk man.
05:47That's the best way to get him in the ring.
05:48Right hand to the head.
05:50The honky-tonk man rolls in.
05:53Thanks to Hacksaw Jim Duggan.
05:55He's going right at him with high-impact maneuvers.
05:57Sending the honky-tonk man with a big clothesline.
06:05And the honky-tonk man, very fit there.
06:07He didn't succumb to that first clothesline.
06:09So what did Hacksaw do?
06:10He just pushed him down with sheer brute strength.
06:14And once again, honky-tonk takes to the high ground.
06:16Well advised, maybe.
06:17Two, three, two, one.
06:22Both heads go together.
06:26And the referee suddenly did like that.
06:29Our referee, Dave Hebner in there.
06:31A very courageous man.
06:32Despite a bad injury to his wrist when a wrestler collided with him.
06:38Scrubbing the head.
06:39Messing up the hair of the honky-tonk man.
06:42Missing the telegraph right arm.
06:44And picking the honky-tonk man up.
06:47He's got to hurt.
06:50Right hand to the jaw that time.
06:53Look at him going up top.
06:56Hacksaw, Jim Duggan.
07:00And London County right along with Hacksaw.
07:03The honky-tonk man face first.
07:06Gets stomped on the outside.
07:08So far, no offensive moves at all by the honky-tonk man.
07:13And his manager, Mouth of the South, appealing to him.
07:16Do something, do something.
07:17Look from behind now.
07:19The Mouth of the South, trying to take matters to his own hands.
07:22And it really worked.
07:23The fans with the boos to Jimmy Hart.
07:26As he pulled on the leg now.
07:29Enabling the honky-tonk man to get somewhat of an advantage in.
07:34Now, once again, the referee turned the other way.
07:37Jimmy Hart.
07:38Choking Hacksaw, Jim Duggan.
07:42Well, that was definitely a combination move there by the honky-tonk man who distracted the referee.
07:48Allowing Mouth of the South to wreak a little damage on the outside there.
07:52But don't think for one moment that Hacksaw, Jim Duggan, has forgotten that.
07:58Again, pulling now on the upper body, down on top of the ropes.
08:04The fist planted firmly on the forehead.
08:07And now pulling the head of Hacksaw, Jim Duggan.
08:11And this is more like the honky-tonk man.
08:16The man who claims to have been the greatest intercontinental champion of all time.
08:20And really had a valid point there.
08:23No fans.
08:25Screaming out the Hacksaw.
08:26Who's up?
08:27Right, no fans standing as Hacksaw stands.
08:31Down he goes again.
08:32The honky-tonk man.
08:34You know, Alfred, you talk so much.
08:36And let's see the cover here.
08:37On two count, Hacksaw's out.
08:39You talk so much about great execution.
08:42You can definitely say it.
08:43I know you would agree that the honky-tonk man's blows, his elbows are perfectly executed.
08:49Yes, he measures everyone.
08:51He gets the utmost effect from each blow.
08:53He's a very, very shrewd wrestler inside the ring.
08:56And quite honestly, he has that catalyst for success on the outside of the ring.
09:01Jimmy Hart.
09:02Together, they are a deadly combination.
09:04But here comes the King of the World Wrestling Federation.
09:07Back once again.
09:08King Duggan up.
09:09King Duggan with an elbow to the midsection.
09:11And again.
09:13Right hand to the head.
09:14Honky-tonk wobbly.
09:15King Duggan to the ropes.
09:16Oh, honky-tonk manny.
09:18Nicely done with a knee right to the midsection.
09:22Really well executed by the honky-tonk man.
09:25He allowed Duggan to think that he had him reeling.
09:28And he wasn't.
09:29He just led him right into that.
09:31Baited the trap.
09:32And Hacksaw, well, I can't say how he is.
09:35Equipped upstairs, but he was a little slow there.
09:37He allowed honky-tonk man to take full advantage.
09:40Now on the outside.
09:43As we see the honky-tonk man, Hacksaw nailed once again by Jimmy Hart.
09:48And there you see the result of that.
09:50Hacksaw, King Duggan on the outside.
09:52And now the honky-tonk man down with him.
09:56And, oh!
09:58He went head first.
09:59Did King Duggan to the ring post.
10:01And that certainly is going to change the complexion of this throughout the remainder of this match.
10:06Obviously.
10:07Oh, look at the honky-tonk man.
10:10He believes he's got everything going for him.
10:12Now look at that confident smile.
10:15He really is sure that he is going to get a victory here.
10:19His first appearance at the London Arena in England.
10:22And now, after King Duggan gets back at it, Duggan wants to fight.
10:29But those blows missed.
10:31Those wild blows from King Duggan missed.
10:33And the honky-tonk man once again, one blow was right on target.
10:37Now we have seen some great headbutts from King Duggan.
10:40He uses that head quite nicely.
10:42However, right now he's winded.
10:44Certainly he's taken a lot out of him.
10:46Has the honky-tonk man.
10:48And Duggan feeling the effects of each and every blow.
10:51Tony the King.
10:53Got out.
10:54The King of the World Wrestling Federation.
10:56King Duggan.
10:57Certainly looks like losing.
10:59He's thrown here today.
11:01And that would be a tragedy for him in the capital city of the British Empire.
11:07Such as it is today, Tony.
11:08And all of the fans here in London jammed into the London Arena enjoying this.
11:20And, of course, all of our fans all over Europe watching on Sky 1.
11:25Hefner testing that arm for reaction.
11:28But Huxo holds it up.
11:30The King holds his arm up there.
11:32Just two counts, that's all.
11:33And he's back up to his feet, Alfred.
11:35King Duggan.
11:36Back to his feet.
11:37The honky-tonk man keeps the grip on.
11:40Here comes Duggan.
11:40Combination blows.
11:42But one rake to the ice.
11:43End of that.
11:44Stunned the big man.
11:45The honky-tonk man once again.
11:47He is really wrestling a smart match here.
11:50He is, but there's just tremendous determination on the part of King Duggan.
11:56The old hacksaw, he doesn't take anything lying down.
11:59He tries his best of all times.
12:01So don't write him out just yet.
12:04He missed.
12:05The honky-tonk man missed.
12:07The honky-tonk man's in trouble.
12:11Maybe.
12:11But now he's back to his feet.
12:13First.
12:14He's over.
12:16Duggan met him.
12:17Left.
12:18Right.
12:20Left.
12:24Those massive arms of King Duggan make him every blow.
12:28Tremendous.
12:30And he looks like he's switching his barrel around.
12:35Here he comes.
12:36Three-point stance.
12:39The close line.
12:41Yes.
12:44Tremendous win for King Duggan.
12:46We're going to get the official win.
12:49We're going to get the official win.
12:49Now a power picker.
12:50And just a few.
12:51The official winner, King Duggan.
13:01King Duggan now.
13:02He wants Jimmy Hart.
13:03And that may have been a mistake.
13:05That may have been.
13:06It was a mistake.
13:08As both men pound away on King Duggan.
13:14Stomping.
13:15Kicking.
13:16Duggan on the outside.
13:18Onto the floor.
13:22Duggan is so innocent in many, many ways.
13:24Well, you know exactly what he's going to do.
13:26Yes.
13:27Oh.
13:27The two-by-four.
13:28Up he goes.
13:29Down he comes.
13:30But he's in the ring.
13:31Goodbye, Jimmy Hart.
13:33The Hockey Talk Man.
13:35King Duggan.
13:36With a solid win.
13:38Here.
13:39Great weapon.
13:45A lot of courage.
13:46On the part of that man.
13:48King Duggan.
13:48He's a big man.
13:49A huge man.
13:506'5".
13:51280 pounds.
13:53And he used every ounce of that massive weight and strength.
13:57And in the beginning, it was the Honky Tonk Man.
13:59In the middle, it was the Honky Tonk Man.
14:01But in the end, courage, strength and power ruled for the day.
14:05The King.
14:06King Duggan.
14:07All right.
14:08Alfred, let's take a look once again.
14:11How it happened.
14:12How King Duggan picked up the win.
14:13And here we see King Duggan going into that famous three-point stance.
14:21Watch this.
14:22And just one clothesline.
14:24The tremendous power was enough to finish up the Honky Tonk Man.
14:28He didn't even have to snag a leg there.
14:31Honky Tonk Man was down and out.
14:33And that was a great victory for the King of the World Wrestling Federation.
14:37A superstar indeed.
14:38And the King of the World Wrestling Federation.
14:40And the King of the World Wrestling Federation.
