A new shrimp processing plant has opened in Talavera, Toledo City, Cebu to help address the country’s growing demand for shrimp and expand the supply of locally farmed products for both domestic use and export.
The facility is expected to support efforts to reduce dependence on imported shrimp, which the Philippines continues to bring in by the thousands of metric tons each year.
The plant is operated by Gideon De Oro Seafood Corporation, the processing division of the Aquatic Phoenix Aquaculture Group.
