00:00African artists, we look at them, Sonia, they, MWASI.
00:05Let me divert.
00:07When I, because I perform a wedding,
00:10even prayer, maybe ceremony,
00:13you can book me,
00:15I will be there with my back.
00:19So, when I see them, Ebenezer hoping,
00:22these guys are performing on the stage for four hours.
00:27Us, who will come,
00:30they will say,
00:32they will not be eyeing us, like,
00:34I will not kick a game.
00:36How come I perform 45 minutes?
00:39You cannot even perform the live sets very well.
00:42They are on the stage,
00:45and those are the people that open the doors for us.
00:48So, it gets me thinking,
00:50if they were sealed,
00:52if this is the bad thing we are collecting from them,
00:55what are we also handing to the people coming behind us?
00:58Sure. Sure.
00:59It's like, we need more life values.
01:01That's one.
01:02Two,
01:04when they started calling me,
01:06Godimodo Pink.
01:07Wow.
01:09I have never heard that one.
01:10Oji is my guy.
01:12So, no, no honor on that.
01:14But, I was like,
01:16how do you say yourselves?
01:18How do you say yourself?
01:19How do you say yourself?
01:20I can't speak.
01:21How do you say yourself?
01:22You say yourself?
01:23Yes.
01:24Yes.
01:25How do you reduce me?
01:26Extraordinary applause please,
01:27those are hits now.
01:28Recognize.
01:29Please, thank you.
01:30How can you reduce me
01:31to Olumunu Pink?
01:34The last one was Rookies. I remember I won the Rookies. And I was the only female on that tab. And someone on Twitter said, this one over, go find us back. Making it, making it celebrate, saying we are Rookie of the year.
01:51And said another guy on the nominee list was supposed to bring us over me because I'm a woman. But I'm an independent artist. And it's very expensive. Once it's an hour.
02:09Now, as an independent artist, or even as an artist, they don't like artists. It's like everybody just hates artists. Influencers have power. Our bloggers have power.
02:28Via Radio Radio Radio Radio Radio Drive, Offer Power and their logo. Increase our booking fee. Don Jazi, Don. Bank훈.
02:43The Don Jazi fund. Oh wow. Okay. The rich men are here.
02:49So speak your mind.
02:51Please speak your mind.
02:52We need money like Tua said.
02:57I saw Yemea that didn't perform in Kotonou, and I was like, oh wow, that's crazy, that's crazy, yes, and it's like, just to wrap this up, we are African, I know we want the number one song in America,
03:24but we have the advantage because I know Beyonce songs, I know Elvis Presley, I know Michael Jackson, Michael Jackson doesn't know Aaron Oshawa, Rihanna doesn't know what's your idea, so guess what, I'm the perfect blend of a global citizen,
03:45because I have all the sounds inviting me, right, so the moment we can open and create opportunities for us to easily work together, for us to easily collaborate,
04:02and also, I'm not saying this as, I'm not part of the problem, because I haven't collaborated with anybody here, which is also a work on my part,
04:12so moving forward, let's not just say it, let's actually do it, come together, collaborate together, I don't want to see somebody on a bill with me and be like, uh-uh, what's that,
04:25let's be happy when we see more females on the bills, and let's support one another, thank you.
04:33I came to Nigeria to perform, and, you know, obviously, the only way to perform here is to be lucky boy, you have to be hyped, you have to sing, one, two, three, everybody, everybody has to follow you,
04:43because they don't care, they don't care about your one-week rehearsal, they don't care about you planning the work and the, we need you to, we need the song we know,
04:51if an artist that we don't know, most especially a girl, comes in, sings beautifully, we don't care, we want you to come and sing the Korobada, we know, and come and,
05:01and then we'll join you, because that's all we care about, we don't care about the art of performance, we just want to glaze the artist and join in the music,
05:08so I feel like performance is dying, and performance are really women's, they're our thing, you know, because I've seen Tia's live performance, and when they're with the band,
05:17and how she's just like, there's no audience, it's just the camera, and it's just us, and you can tell that we enjoy it a lot more,
05:22I don't know, I do, I don't know if they do, I've seen the Queen Yemiya so perform, you can tell, like, when there's no cameras around,
05:28if you watch a woman perform, she's just like, whoa, but then when there are people involved, it's like, I have to care if you're also in tune,
05:36you don't want to hear my riffs, because that's too much, you just want me to do the same song, carry you along, one more time, everybody sing,
05:43and it's like, if that's what we have to keep doing, then the art of performance will keep dying, and that's how I know that, you know,
05:49the masculine energy is always more appreciated than us as performance, as people, as women, but yeah, that's all I wanted to say.
05:56Can I, can I, don't be deceived, right now, all of us have deceived, everything has scattered, everything has, nobody knows anything again,
06:05so, all we need to do now, is focus on our core fans, which means, the people that love us, everyone, who are your core fans,
06:17I don't, I'm not worried about everybody, right, if you don't, if you don't like me, you will not pay to come and see me,
06:23but if you like me, you will come and see me, so let's be okay with the 20 people that like us, until we get the 80 people,
06:32and then we'll get the 100 people, and then we'll keep building social media.
06:37It's very often for you to see them help the ones coming up, they like to affiliate with whatever's new,
06:42and they like to connect with them, and bring them to newer audience, but I feel like with, with women,
06:47obviously, Tiwa's done the most collaboration with any woman here, that's untouched, like, she, she literally will collaborate with every female,
06:54but I don't think that's very common for women, um, for me, because I'm building, and I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, like, very unsure,
07:01I'm very afraid, like, am I gonna DM a Tiwa Savers, like, is she gonna respond to my message, and then you have women who are, like,
07:07they tend more to collaborate with men, because, like I said, the streams will be better, and also, it's like, maybe they just don't, like,
07:14I don't know the reason for it, but I really do think women supporting the newer generation,
07:20especially with how different we're making music now, would definitely support them, the female industry will show togetherness,
07:25it'll fix the stereotype of women hating other women, it'll fix the, um, the whole thing of, oh, women don't like themselves,
07:32because there's a, there's a statement like that, and some parts of me feels like, that might be true, that might not be,
07:36this really did fix my ideology of how the female industry is, because when you don't meet with them face-to-face,
07:42it really does feel like, I thought she hated me, I'm sorry, I did, when I walked, when I came to her house,
07:47the person was like, I don't know if you like me, like, that wasn't even what I told her, she was like, what?
07:52So it's different, because I had never met her, but, like, she's Tiwa Savage, you know, she's huge, she's watching,
07:58I just, I just jumped on her body, I didn't even, like, ask any question, I was just all over her,
08:03because these people, they've done so much work to make us, like I said, believe it's possible,
08:07know that these things can happen, Teni just set a whole different stage,
08:12and she's like, this is what everybody's used to, I'm going to do me unapologetically,
08:15and now we were forced to accept it, so now nobody can say nothing about it,
08:18we're forced to be like, all right, fine, but we're not taking any more of you,
08:22and then there's me coming in, and I'm struggling around, like, the criticism,
08:25but I'm still just going to be unapologetically me, inspired by the Queen Tiwa,
08:31inspired by Waje, inspired by the amazing performer, singer Yemi Alladay,
08:34inspired by the diverse Teni, inspired by you, inspired by all the amazing women,
08:39I'm not talking to men right now, so, inspired by the elite women,
08:44we love y'all, but today's for us, all right,
08:48inspired by all the amazing, inspired by this Queen right here,
08:51I can't even start talking about you, you guys, please, a round of applause for this Queen,
08:55y'all don't know, this is me, I'm touched,
08:58but yeah, thank you so much to everybody that came today,
09:01thank you so much for everyone, thank you to Tiwa Savage for calling me,
09:05it was an honor, when I knew who I was sitting with, I was like, whoa,
09:09I feel like my generation would really be pleased by this type of movement,
09:12and the women will really feel a certain eradication of female hate,
09:16and they'll know that there's a community, they'll know that there are people,
09:19there are women that stand for them, and want to see them shine,
09:22and not want to be envious of what woman is at the top,
09:25and why they're not putting us on, so I'm grateful for this, I'm really grateful,
09:29thank you so much, thank you,
