00:38Bright Sunshine greets us once again as we get ready for Round 1 action in Group A.
00:44Featuring Namibia and the Netherlands here at the Zaïd Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
00:50They've only met once, these two teams.
00:54In T20 Internationals, Netherlands won that fixture a couple of seasons ago.
01:00But the importance of this contest today as the standings on Group A show Sri Lanka at the top by virtue of a wonderful net run rate.
01:09Ireland with their win a couple of days ago in second place.
01:13Nothing yet for these two teams playing in this first game.
01:18But someone will have some points later on.
01:22Max Ogaard was brilliant in his knock in Game 1.
01:26And Mayberg is back.
01:28And a lot of us remember him and the action that he brought in 2014, the T20 World Cup.
01:34Ackerman, Tenduskarte, enough experience now.
01:37Vandekuten in there as well.
01:39Very well travelled, very experienced scene bowling option.
01:46So those two changes for the Netherlands.
01:50One change for Namibia.
01:52Van Lingen into the as a left handed batting option for Namibia.
01:59But they need more from Bard, from Green, from Erasmus, from Williams with their capabilities.
02:07JJ Smith as well will be hoping if he gets in, he can make a fist of it.
02:13The opening partnership hasn't gone that well in recent times for the Netherlands.
02:2317 the highest in the last 10 to 20 internationals.
02:28Shift in the field.
02:30Shift in the field.
02:32Midwicket has gone to square leg.
02:35Starts very straight.
02:45Not looking for a lot of spin.
02:47Just peeks through here, looking to dart it in of the stumps.
02:50Yeah, I think with the grass on the surface, I don't imagine a lot of turn early on.
02:56Look for that ball to skid onto the bat a little bit more, I think, Bish, don't you, in these sorts of conditions.
03:04So from a left arm spin bowling opportunity, it's around the wicket, zoning in on that middle, middle and off, middle and leg stump.
03:12No room offside.
03:17He's off the mark.
03:19Should be a couple.
03:20Big side of the ground.
03:22So if you can, in this heat, run hard.
03:28Fitness to the fore.
03:31That's what it'll be.
03:33Good burn.
03:34Good burn.
03:43Oh, one.
03:46Not a bad over from Namibia.
03:48Four runs off it.
03:49Four without loss after one.
03:52David Visa.
03:53Well-traveled, very experienced, former South African international, gets thumbed away for four first ball by Stefan Mayberg.
04:07The most tight leg stump line.
04:10But he got the length that he was looking for here Mayberg.
04:13Doesn't mind the short ball.
04:15Short side of the ground as well.
04:18Visa will be disappointed.
04:20Even though it was a bottom edge, it's short as raced across the turf.
04:24Four runs, badly lined, and sometimes you sort of wonder if the left-right combination induces these missed lines.
04:37Getting opportunities and putting them away.
04:41That's what it's all about inside this power play.
04:43Seen one from Mayberg, and now one from Max O'Dowd.
04:47Leg side delivery, nice and fine, and a way to the boundary for four.
04:52It's a poor line from Visa, just searching for a little bit too much.
04:56Biting off too much, as we say in the business.
04:59When it starts to swing, you almost want to bowl that miracle ball.
05:02Not there.
05:07All the way for six.
05:08Short side of the ground.
05:10Stamp of authority on it from Max O'Dowd.
05:15Really well played.
05:17Got that length.
05:19Doesn't mind the pull shot and the cut shot.
05:21This is a very good example of it.
05:24Goes short.
05:25Look how deep he is in the crease.
05:28Plenty of that.
05:31It's a risk-reward bowling the short ball from that end, isn't it?
05:35The other end of the ground, big side.
05:38It certainly should be used more.
05:42That's pleasant.
05:46The use of the feet and the presentation of the bat face through the hitting it.
05:50He's through the hitting area was a thing of beauty.
05:54And also, just the common sense around Max O'Dowd's batting there.
05:59Simply thinking, Trumpleman's gone short.
06:01He can't afford to go short again.
06:03So I'm going to go at him here.
06:05He's got to go back to that standard length.
06:07I'll go at him and look to go straight.
06:09Presented the full face of the bat.
06:11High elbow.
06:12Good quality cricket.
06:17Miss hit it.
06:18Just over.
06:23Thought he had backpedaled well enough to wrap it in.
06:26At mid-wicket, David Visa.
06:33He made good ground.
06:35He's bumped his head quite badly here as well.
06:38Certainly toe into the bat.
06:40Back enough and just got the right hand to it.
06:43But the left hand was a little bit lower.
06:45Couldn't quite get there.
06:46Fingertip stuff.
06:51Great effort.
06:52I mean, most of the guys on the field are shorter than David Visa
06:55and probably wouldn't have made the ground and got there.
07:03Made room for himself.
07:05I would assume that when we see it again,
07:07he perhaps, Mayberg, contacted that ball on a bottle leg stump
07:12or middle and leg.
07:14I'd go so far as to say it's missing leg.
07:17This is such a good shot.
07:21One of us is going to be right here.
07:23Won't tell on that angle.
07:24But that is wonderful timing.
07:30Such a good shot.
07:32Gave himself so much room.
07:38It was so slow.
07:40But it's an opportunity here for Namibia.
07:42And no mistake this time around.
07:44How big will this wicket be?
07:47No doubt.
07:49Freilink is enjoying that.
07:52Mayberg into the game.
07:54Makes 17.
07:56He's faced 15 deliveries in the end.
07:58And now the Netherlands are 42 for one.
08:07He's played his options well until then.
08:08Giving himself room.
08:09No one in the deep on the off side.
08:10On this occasion.
08:12He got it right.
08:13He followed the batsman and pulled it into the pitch.
08:15There was not much pace.
08:16Mayberg's gone for 17.
08:17It's 42 for one.
08:19Change in order for the Netherlands.
08:20Rula van der Maver comes in at three.
08:21Reverse sweep.
08:22Reverse sweep.
08:23He will play those types of shots.
08:24He's not scared to take the risks.
08:25And it's worth it in the end.
08:26Seven overs gone.
08:2754 for one.
08:28Nine off that over.
08:29Five singles.
08:30Then you get an opportunity.
08:31Exactly what he was doing.
08:32He was doing the last one.
08:33It's 42 for one.
08:34It's 42 for one.
08:35It's 42 for one.
08:36Change in order for the Netherlands.
08:37Rula van der Maver comes in at three.
08:39Reverse sweep.
08:40He will play those types of shots.
08:41He's not scared to take the risks.
08:43And it's worth it in the end.
08:44Seven overs gone.
08:4654 for one.
08:48Nine off that over.
08:49Five singles.
08:50Then you get an opportunity.
08:51You exactly what he was doing.
08:52Because decent bit of bat gets it over the field.
08:53Strong finish to that over from the Netherlands point of view.
08:55Crise of catch it again and it's gone down to third.
08:59Arula van der Maver coming up the order hasn't worked for the Netherlands.

09:51massive wicket for Namibia you can keep chipping away to get yourself back into the game this is
09:59a massive blow though and I'm over for six Netherlands are 55 for two vice captain walks
10:08to the crease Colin Ackerman it's a years of age she played away way to get off the mark
10:19finding a gap get a couple of runs for the team maybe settle you'd imagine a few nerves fluttering
10:26about I think what they need to do here and I think this field is wrong particularly for the
10:36left arm are going across the right hander you want to protect the big side of the ground take
10:40away the boundary options on the really big side he's got three fielders patrolling the boundary
10:44leg side chance hits he's out he's out was a long way gone had to run around the bowler there
10:53just just wonder if Max a doubt is thinking there that an earlier match is just coming back to
11:01hunt him he's got absolutely no chance I actually think the fielder there had time to aim
11:08let's play that fine enough it's a bit of a chase he won't get there it's four the man on the boundary
11:19was very very square now remember if it's such a large boundary there the gaps get accentuated man
11:25inside the circle sort of 30 35 degrees so if you've got a man on the boundary at square leg there's a
11:29huge space to find well the field also dictates that he has to bowl around about middle middle and
11:36leg stuff he just lost this one a little bit too leg side but his field indicates he's got to bowl that
11:44long now you don't want a second on that one you've been lucky once already just remind you said it's
11:55such a big game for these people the Netherlands of course won the qualifiers to come there was a
12:01pretty strong qualifying tournament that and they here by right hoping to get into the super 12s two
12:10teams from here we'll get into the super 12s well bold oh well hit rather sorry this is open huge open
12:20spaces out there all yet to do with the two fielders inside the circles hit the gap yeah just cannot bowl
12:26width cannot afford any width at all for our link with this field tried to take pace off again down at
12:34118 and Ackerman finds the gap we've talked about the short side the quick nature of this boundary
12:41this outfield looks magnificent that's too easy very global for the batting side 12 runs coming off it
12:53it's 86 for two oh another very late call another he'd given up once again well if they had to complete
13:06that run they had to move really quickly because the ball went to the field on the edge of the circle
13:10quickly and they made up their mind so late couple of opportunities to hit the stomach this one more
13:17difficult because it's dead side on isn't it one stump to aim at but he was a mile short again
13:22let's pick the gap will speak the gap really well now that's something that max about needs to do as
13:39he gets to his 50 it might be tiring a little bit but he's seeing the ball so well just pick the spots in
13:44the field and i think this is an excellent shot the first netherlands better to get back-to-back 50s at
13:53a t20 world cup maxo down he'll feel good about that instant instant O'Dowd says don't worry about
14:03the twos i'm the set man in i'll clear the boundary that's a fine shot second boundary in the over for
14:07again the option's not bad because it's angled in at leg stump maybe even missing leg look at this angle
14:16maybe around about leg stump but it's he's finding the gap on the leg side not hitting it too close to
14:24any of those fielders out there so good option good idea to keep the strike as well he's the one
14:30who's getting that rate moving 14 of the over 107 for two he was setting himself up for the shot
14:41wasn't he and the ball just drifted into that slot nine of the over one one six for two
14:46very very good
15:07fell for the trap
15:11just eluding the keeper change of length change of line
15:21change his pace up brilliantly
15:25well colin ackerman caught down leg side with a short ball two days ago and again troubled by the
15:33short ball it's another cutter grips in the surface ackerman just trying to improvise
15:40clever bowling must be said just out of reach
15:43straight yep gotta be straight
15:49as well stop because the long off had come up to mid off
15:54so doubt has carried the innings manfully once again from the very start
16:01power play was efficient enough middle over 71 for one so that would have been quite handy now it's about the finishing touch
16:13and visa doing well negating the boundaries just five off the over 121 for two
16:20fine leg is going back though so if smith goes up a sump there is some protection leg side
16:29should be out
16:33oh goodness that had to be a late picking up of the trajectory of the ball it was in the air forever
16:43stephen bard well that's a bad miss it really is it's gone straight up in the air almost a leading edge
16:54maxo dad trying to shovel a leg side again gonna make your ground earlier that's a real let off from maxo dad
17:02is that good enough very very well struck by ackerman that's a big hit on that side
17:15finally ackerman just breaks the shackles
17:21it's down leg side gets down nice and a good flick of the wrist
17:26finally finds the middle of that blade as you quite rightly mention a bishop that is a good hit
17:32just shy of 80 meters
17:35goes full so he's bluffed him that it's good as well
17:41come back for two that must be some effort for a dog to get to well let's keep an eye on her dad I
17:50don't think he wanted to truth but all I think he wanted one there very hot
17:55I think a better throw he would have been struggling as well
17:58ackerman just wanted to keep strike good partners of this 82
18:06there he goes into the pitch and that's the success that's the plan we were
18:13talking about hard into the surface into the big side of the ground
18:20good safe catch taken
18:25yeah heading to the longer side clever bowling you know frolic back into the pitch 114 case is a fairly
18:37fairly simple catch by the captain himself out of the out in the deep ackerman well it was enterprising at the back end but he's got to go
18:46he made 35 netherlands 137 for three Scott Edwards comes to the crease
18:56looking at the field as well
19:07Erasmus who took that catch where is he is some way mid wicket is now some way off the ropes it's a good strike rate which he'll be hoping can be better at the end here
19:18that's the other option there now LeBron if max the dog has any gas left because
19:25they're sitting back on the leg side looking for the big hits the boundaries
19:29you can dink it for two to a ball is 12 and over this is the end of Colin he just
19:37started getting going actually just hit one over the ropes for a lovely six and
19:40then tries to take on the long boundary again only holds out nice snaffle in the deep
19:52single to finish 13 off the over and the wicket 18 done 140 for three
19:58it's high but that's a short side does it have enough just enough for six
20:11that's the benefit of hitting to that short side that would easily have been caught on the other
20:15side of the ground yeah that's a good shot from Scott Edwards he gets down nice and low
20:21never tries to keep this down he only has one attention here hit that ball up let it sail
20:29really good stroke by Scott Edwards just putting a nice bit of momentum into the closing stages
20:36change of field now deep square a taller player a deep square leg now the horse is bolted he's through
20:43the field just a 63 meter hits not far
20:51right up there leading run score in the tournament and another couple of runs if he can get it
21:15will be the highest scoring t20 world cups for the netherlands if he can get to
21:21that 72 by tom cooper in 2014
21:35Scott Edwards is is an interest another interesting story born in tanga grew up in australia of course has
21:42that dutch heritage played for the monash tigers in the victoria premier league in australia melbourne
21:49australia and he was doing electrical apprenticeship and electrical apprenticeship a couple of years
21:54ago when he got the call to come and apply his trade for the netherlands and he's been living the dream
22:03he says and the guys back at monash are supporting him as well good change up yeah the monash tigers
22:11formerly known as richmond of course used to play a punt road right beside the mcg
22:18shannon young was one of scott edwards key coaches at that club very fine coach shannon young
22:24this guy's a good cricket a good wiki keeper moves well and there's a live wire behind the sticks
22:31maxa dad has he got enough energy here to try and muscle a few over the ropes mid-off inside the ring
22:36wrong and had they gone for maxo doubts and he'd have been run out by half the length of the pitch perhaps
22:53one hundred and a fifty for three
23:04end of the 19th over netherlands 150 for three
23:11well this is absolute confusion look at maxa dad he's out on his legs he's got to go keepers end
23:17he's got to go keepers end he would be miles out oh no same green
23:33david visa has bowled well so far
23:43finds the gap beautifully played he had to take that off the stumps to find that offside gap
23:52yeah what he does well here he tries to hit the ball straight although it's a slightly short ball he's
23:58still trying to hit the ball well in front of square you'll see a lot of batters maybe weight
24:02fits and hit it square and there's no pace to hit square so you really try and force it as straight
24:06as possible this is excellent body that is a very difficult stroke
24:13wonder here now for visa if he'll go maybe more into the pitch piece on or piece off
24:23so that he has to play the horizontal bat shot into the big leg side or whether he has another option
24:29one goes full should be two
24:37well they've been a bit sloppy maybe in the field today they normally pride themselves on the field
24:42but coach pierre de breyn will be disappointed a few missed fields and a few wrong decisions which
24:49which end to throw and it's all pressure environment,
24:52pressure situation.
25:04Gone by a long way, by some distance, ran out of gas.
25:08It's been a wonderful innings from Max O'Dowd.
25:13Just too much for him though in the heat as he limps off.
25:17Very, very well played.
25:19Congratulations, I think, from Erasmus.
25:31Scott Edwards wanted to, and Max O'Dowd, deep down,
25:34probably didn't want to, but knew he had to go.
25:37He's out on his feet.
25:38He's played brilliantly well, but he's been run out.
25:41Good work by Erasmus.
25:43Execution, and David Visek tidies up nicely.
25:46Brilliant knock.
25:49Max O'Dowd run out for 70, 157 for four.
25:56Yeah, boy.
25:57Well, I love listening to a stump mic.
26:00Did you get the reactions of both batter, bowler's, wicket-keeper, and just as he lost this one over the keeper,
26:02you can just see it here, his batting partner, yeah, boy, as if to say, brilliant, great execution.
26:08Love to see it.
26:09I love the stump mic.
26:10I love listening in to what's happening in the middle.
26:15Yeah, that's the length.
26:16So good David Visek.
26:17So much experience in this stage of his career.
26:20great execution love to see it I love the stop might love listening in to
26:25what's happening in the middle yeah that's the length so good David these
26:37are so much experience the stage of his career this is the end of poor Al
26:47max no doubt brilliant knock just ran out of steam you know there since the
26:53outset back-to-back half centuries marvelous marvelous body set aside up
26:59really really well they're well played maxo dad two is a call easily taken that
27:13two because of the big legs I feel Logan van Beek gets home and so at the end of
27:21the innings a good effort from the Netherlands 164 for four of their 20
27:30overs just to revise how things have gone so far with 164 for four the highest
27:39score of this edition of the men's ICCT 20 World Cup O'Dowd brilliant with 70 it was
27:45hard on him out there and a 835 to Ackerman important 21 for Edwards at the back end
27:51David visa a thought was quite good with his changes of base one for 32 a couple of wickets
28:00for Freilink as well and just using the biggest side of the ground to try to slow things at the
28:09back end where 48 runs came but just the loss of two wickets the middle overs was a good phase for
28:15the middle of the Netherlands they take a short break and back with more
28:23live the game love the game
28:26with their eyes on the targets of 165
28:30superb setting superb sporting facility here in Abu Dhabi every year you come back just gets better and better
28:38a couple of openers for Namibia both missed out in the first game Peter Steyler he'll be absolutely
28:47chuffed good score on the board applies the pressure early in the power play temperature just a little
28:55cooler than it was at the start of the day's play the start of the afternoon's play felt like it was
29:03about 40 degrees out in the middle when we were there Niall O'Brien I'm sure it's probably only
29:07about 32 33 now felt like it was about 60 degrees duly for an Irishman I'll tell you that much Zane
29:14Green nice left hand right hand combo is a strong breeze slip in play Netherlands on the attack with the new
29:26ball starts with a wide one it's away with it it's inside that guideline
29:37deep point deep backward square the two boundary riders for class and early on
29:44that manner slip back and run he'll probably be there for a couple of balls they normally stay in
29:50for a few and then they're dispensed with fairly quickly should pick up one they will good running
30:00in front of maybe I think just need a solid power play they need to try and set it up for the likes of
30:06JJ Smith who's a natural six hitter David visa we know that's Erasmus is a quality bat and I'm top quality
30:15Craig Williams has been decent Nick of late but they can't find themselves two or three down
30:22earlier because they'll be just too much work to do third on the fence well just as I say that third
30:30comes inside the ring Ryan Tenderscarter who's he's been on a bit of a holiday first baller and DMB
30:37wide from Clarsen yeah it's interesting isn't it with Tenderscarter I you look at it and you think
30:47he's being shuffled down the batting order his form has been dare I say it fairly average he doesn't
30:54bowl anymore nowadays so he's basically taking up a spot on the side that could go to a younger player
31:00I don't mind him being in the squad for experience
31:03that's missing leg by quite some way they'll pinch a leg by yeah I don't mind him being here for
31:13experience and that experience of being in and around so much cricket but if he's not going to bat
31:18and if he gets pushed down the order time and time again doesn't bowl what's he offering
31:22Clarsen goes full again sliding down well they made a couple of interesting calls the Netherlands
31:29Glover is out to bowl I thought bowl quite nicely a couple of days ago has got pace they brought
31:35van der Guchten in but still no Paul van Meekeren haven't seen him yet
31:39Ben Cooper gets run out second ball you're dropped
31:45some tough calls there from Ryan Campbell Steph Myberg back in the side I think that was a good
31:52decision good cricketer Steph Myberg and he can get on with it up top
31:56sometimes when you're shuffling around after a loss it's you're searching for answers
32:02so far they've been pretty good today Netherlands slip out
32:06oh good a little bit of pace and a little bit of bounce across the right-hander from
32:15Fred Clarsen three without loss
32:19sweep straight away and with power to the boundary for four
32:26well that's really clever really good shot because he never tries to keep this down he knows exactly
32:35where the field is look how his bat comes almost hitting the ball up have a look at this yeah just
32:43gets it up and over that man a square leg no intention to keep the ball down really clever
32:47reverse this time through the gap four more good start to the over for green back-to-back boundaries
32:58here we go the Eagles are on the charge
33:04this is a nice shot
33:08I love this that's as normal a stroke as a cover drive nowadays that's excellent batting
33:17yeah that's what you're talking about Nile O'Brien just a shimmy across to the offside
33:25flicks it away leg side good improvisation
33:28yeah happy bench at the moment Namibia this is excellent buddy he knows Logan van Beek is going
33:35to be back of a length as many bowlers have been on this surface it's been a profitable area back of
33:41the length so sometimes you got to make the make the charge make the initiative give yourself a
33:46little momentum to get into the stroke it's excellent batting oh no run there direct hit has to
33:56hit another one you'll get a chance as well where's the keeper where was the keeper needed to get there
34:03quicker well you gotta ping it to the keeper on the run what there was enough time for the keeper to
34:09get this thumbs that's where you need to feel that to throw the ball to the keeper while he's on the
34:13run have a look yes no it should be sorry gotta get there Scott Edwards make a bit more of an effort
34:19and ping it to him on the run another missed runner we've seen lots of missed run outs in this group
34:26that's easy in hindsight isn't it but he could have almost lobbed it to the stumps and the keeper
34:30might have got there by that time as well but a big opportunity missed and what happens straight
34:35afterwards you pick up a boundary rub a bit of salt into the wound into the third 23 without loss
34:41nice partnership 23 already this is a good stroke shuffle and then just flicks leg sides a shorter
34:58side that side it's a good effort it's a really good start here from Namibia
35:02neck and neck here Namibia and Netherlands it's going to be a tight contest this is not much between
35:22these two sides no one's whipped away leg side again this is good from Bard walking across the
35:33stumps just a touch yeah walking across the stones but Tim van der Goekten delivers this ball from so
35:40wide of the crease let's just but look how wide he's angling in it's easy pickings for the batter the
35:51angle the previous ball did the same but it's good intent again down the pitch across your stumps use
35:57the angle nicely played just the one this time follow up a boundary with a single coaches in the
36:14old days used to love that get a boundary get a one but nowadays let's get a baron to get another
36:18boundary and then get another boundary if you listen to the West Indies they don't worry about singles
36:25all about hitting sixes down the wicket over the top of the offside couple of bounces into the boundary
36:42three for four another very good over ten runs coming from it 33 without loss
36:48well this is good batting we haven't seen one slog we've seen a bit of improvisation we've just seen
36:59good intent on pitches that may be a little bit slow it's often a good ploy to get down the pitch
37:05get energy and momentum through the ball and just lift it over the infield that's excellent excellent
37:11batting from Namibia five partnership early days of course 33 and four overs Bard and Zane Green plenty of power in
37:31that middle order got to set it up as the openers oh god I'm a little under edge this time looking to go
37:39leg side got a little bit of an under edge back onto that leg stump and the Dutch have struck the first
37:48blow one that they desperately needed as Zane Green goes for 15 yeah look at the hooking leg side it's
38:05another change up thick inside edge back onto the six is a horrible dismissal you hate dragging it back
38:12on but good reward for Fred class and stuck to his guns Zane Green's gonna go for 15 34 for one Craig
38:22Williams a good player retired three years ago back out of retirement that's four yes just a little back
38:31of a length and allowed Williams to play the shot just needed to hit the gap and that was good enough 41
38:36why we'll have the off spin of Colin Ackerman he gets a wicket straightaway it's a bit of a hike I did
38:46say Williams needed to get a move on I'm afraid he looked back at that and say was that the right
38:51ball was it the right shot to play Namibia have lost another and Ackerman has got a bit of a reputation
39:00is enough of spin up yes we get of Williams for 11. The other thing about this attempted shot is that
39:10he was trying to hit into the big side of the ground it's not impossible to hit a boundary over there but
39:17it takes so much more effort success though for the Netherlands
39:29Williams goes for 11.
39:32Oh the new man Karad Erasmus
39:34well I've seen a few go over the keeper none like that they're actually going to run two for it as
39:46well oh dear just slipped out of his hand it will be called no ball of course have you ever seen such
39:53a high ball bull bish I mean I can understand sometimes it goes straight to the keeper this
40:00was like a just watch there is it I think that you would have added another pitch
40:08yeah oh the bad verbal Peter sailor I think it's a set batsman one that's gone that's Stephen Bard
40:21they lose another wicket Namibia they can ill afford losing wickets in these middle overs and I'm afraid
40:27I'm afraid that's the end of Stephen Bard out for twenty-one
40:30but doing our build-up today we talked about the spinners bowling straight up bowling at the stumps
40:42Peter sailor has done that Colin Ackerman did that before him
40:46and bowling from the correct ends as well 21 to Stephen Bard new man in is David Weezer
40:57it's got a reputation around the world of being a big hitter but he's in at the moment with two
41:00spinners bowling pretty well
41:05roll off roll off will clear the boundary
41:09it's got a reputation of being a very good player with spin bowling Erasmus you can see why
41:16it's got a reputation of being a very good player with the wind hitting with the wind down the ground
41:22the wind does help it to carry to and over the boundary and the asking rate before of a shot
41:28had gone up to near ten and a half
41:32and he's gone straight again that's a beautiful shot really good shot now from David Weezer
41:37they're going for it there's no other way of course but they're going for it 15 of this over so far
41:50it's good use of the feet so and it's straight though so as much as we talk about line length
41:54is also important you don't want to give them that chance to be hitting down the ground with the wind
41:59pull the length back a little bit and he does pull the length back
42:03and concedes a single it's an excellent over that for namibia 16 from it it's 67 for three
42:14jumping wide again and it's just gone down leg that's easy for namibia
42:20well it's not the first time today that tim van de gochten has jumped wide of the crease and just
42:24angles the ball in so he can't get his wrist behind the seam all he's doing is angling this ball
42:30wide of the crease and it's easy pickings yeah just out the side of the hand almost
42:35too easy for any batter especially one with the class of david visa all you gotta do is get across
42:40your stumps help at leg side
42:50jumping wide again this time around it's through the offside
42:54it's really nicely played beautiful hands from erasmus
43:01it's a class act the captain erasmus he's got plenty of power but here he just shows his touch
43:07again it's wider the crease it's not threatening stumps it's poor bowling truth be told but it's
43:13excellent body really really good knows exactly where the field is third is inside the ring
43:18beautiful death touch you got a ball straight at tim van de gochten
43:32better line they might get two that's really good running between the wickets
43:36good awareness from the two namibian batters 11 overs gone 78 for three
43:40this is exactly why david visa is in this side to give it the long handle no boundary is big enough
43:59when david visa gets going look at the extension look at the follow-through nowhere near the middle
44:05it's a really good hit colin akerman serves it up on a length visa says thank you very much
44:14oh it's short really short as he made enough of it not quite the fielding is good though
44:20they take a risk with the second and make it in the end
44:24he loves it straight he hits it so sweet and that's the second one in that area today
44:36well that's right in the slot hit me ball colin akerman goes up above the eye line have a look
44:44yeah a little bit of flight it's right in the arc thank you very much too easy
44:50akerman needs to maybe change his line potentially go around the wicker that's a good hit 96
44:57that's a good strike
45:02two shorts oh he's lost it he's lost it backward square leg fielder completely lost it
45:08and uh the scoreboard continues to tick over
45:14let's go pear-shaped here for the netherlands last 10 minutes have been brilliant for david visa in
45:19particular have a look at this drag down leg side help yourself visa but the man of the deep logan van
45:25bake could not pick it up
45:36another good over for namibia absolutely brilliant 97 for three
45:41very interesting numbers david visa on 32 from 17 his partner erasmus on 14 from 10.
45:50there we go that's it hitting straight through the gap it's a big gap out there
45:55that's more like it david visa stand tall and smash it straight logan van bake well he puts it right
46:07in the slot where do you want it when you've got your eye in right here please powerfully struck
46:14netherlands have no answer one-way traffic at the moment
46:22plate away just out of the reach oh this is absolutely special from david visa what an innings this is
46:31like an absolute rocket right off the middle of that blade
46:35tall man david visa but look how it gets low here to reach and extend to the ball and just slice it
46:41no it's exactly where the field is third is inside the ring opens the blade at the last minute have a
46:46look at the open blade yeah just slices it over point brilliant
46:55that'll do for the namibians that is for sure
46:59bounties keep coming they're flowing only 50 required now
47:03well bazda later slightly surprising we saw him into the attack
47:12failed with the bat in the first game didn't bat today wasn't required he's
47:17into the action with the ball and he's under pressure straight away
47:21this game is just getting away from the netherlands they need a wicket desperate for a wicket
47:25so well thread through finding the gap that is absolutely superb 119 for three it is
47:47well this is one of the shots of the day it's a knuckleball it's too much with an offer again
47:53brilliant hands strong man heard out to rasmus top class placement
48:08it's a good ball it's a good ball is it enough the umpire says no netherlands are desperate for a
48:14wicket yeah he sent it upstairs worth the risk i reckon for the netherlands third umpire to director
48:21we have a player review for lbw original decision is not out it's a fair delivery front on spin vision
48:28piece here it is yeah yeah freeze it here please one frame back okay we can see a clear spike when the
48:39ball is next to the bat thank you i'll go back to michael on field michael you can stay with your
48:46decision you're on screen now you can signal no doubt thank you may have even heard the umpire say
48:52that yeah there was two noises there
48:58now the boundary and another one from jumping wide
49:01this is what happens when things start going your way and from the netherlands point of view you're
49:06looking at ryan tender shot looking around hands on hips nobody's looking to make something happen
49:11here and the rubber the green starts going with the opposition it's a thick outside edge of course it is
49:16but you've got your third inside the ring so it's a fairly lucrative area we've seen two or three
49:22recently netherlands need to get up in the back they need to do something they can't wait for the
49:26batters to make a mistake that's going the distance as well what an innings from david weiza
49:37plays around the world it comes up qualifies from namibia it's a 53 in 29 balls and at the moment it
49:44looks like it could well be a match winning innings they've got the chase under control that's for sure
49:50the game over four sixes four fours in the ninth oh it was 51 for three look what this partnership has
50:02done for namibia 83 of 46 when the partnership came together look that blue um had dipped significantly
50:09below the orange worm i think it started with a six from uh herad erasmus and then weza took over with
50:17four more himself but these two have just taken the game away
50:24oh it spreads what did you talk about the boundary just push it back another 10 meters
50:29he'll still hit six his weza
50:35it's not in the slot it's back of a length but
50:38gets himself into such a good position little shimmy
50:48wonderful swing look 85 meters that's a six anywhere
50:56why the finger goes up batsman just looking down looking a little perplexed
51:01they do have both um reviews up their sleeve if he's not sure he might as well take it now he's
51:10walking oh takes it yeah freeze it here please clear spike when the ball is next to the bat i'll go
51:21back to michael on field michael you can see with your decision you're on screen now you can signal out
51:30so finally finally there's a wicket but is it too late it's well played by the captain erasmus
51:37he's out gone for 32
51:38and smith will be off the mark as well with a single 11 of the over it's 146 for four
51:50yeah what does smith do here 10 from 9 does he still say i think weza's winning this for me i'll
51:54take a single but does he now need to go himself too he's good at hitting sixes just hit the ball
51:59well if you bowl that line you don't need to hit it
52:10nine of nine
52:13ah it's those tram lines he's got to he's just got to flirt with the time
52:17with the tram line not try and get too far inside it because then there's a shot on
52:24needs one more inside the circle all right third man's coming inside the circle complete change now
52:29rust yeah he's got to bowl the legal deliveries isn't it with that line predictable he's struggling
52:36and the runs are piling on but the balls it's gonna have to re-bowl them three wide so far
52:47down the ground but there is a man at long gone they should come back for two
52:53it's going exactly as namibia wanted except i think they would have wanted to win it
52:57by now for net run rate but i think at this recent stage now where just a win will be good enough
53:01net yeah absolutely get the points on the board will be their first ever in any world cup and
53:08certainly their first of course at a t20 world cup they've they've really done a lot of preparation
53:13for this as well played a series against the titans from south africa the knights as well won those
53:19played against the zimbabwe emerging side as well as the south african emerging side won those two
53:27oh the man had come in beats him into the boundary for four that surely has to beat now
53:33for namibia they got a big over there 12 from it just three needed now
53:38beautifully played this is under pressure as well jj smith is such a good hitter of the ball
53:51he hits it very very clean a little pump of the fist shouldn't be premature
53:56and he's setting this up
54:03here sailor will be worried that is for sure it's had a loss already three needed from seven
54:12looking to finish it off and there it is
54:15namibia would have dreamt of this they would have imagined it and now they get a chance to live it
54:22what a special moment for namibia winning a world cup match for the first time
54:30terasmus has been brilliant for namibia for a long time he's led them to this and today he was superb
54:36as a leader in the field and also with the bat but david visa of course stands out with a fantastic
54:41undefeated 66 that's a scorecard they will probably take a picture of and keep and it probably have it
54:48framed
54:52i thought fred class it was brilliant 15 dot balls out of 24 1 for 14 but just look down the economy
54:59rates the other the idea at the other in the extreme column peter sailor bolder made an over
55:03and a wicked then a seven run over only bold two overs but all the other economy rates when the
55:09original lasting rate was 8.25 so namibia win by six wickets i thought the netherlands had done well
55:15to get to 164 uh max of doubt 70 of 56 is second half century uh other edwards right towards the
55:22end the wicked key with 21 of 11 and uh good to see stephen myberg back up at the top of the order
55:27with namibia 166 for four at 51 for three in the ninth over you just thought it might be getting a
55:34little difficult for them but that partnership between visa and erasmus has just taken them home so
55:54live the game love the game
