00:00Meghan goes scorched earth on Kate.
00:03Meghan Markle is gearing up to steal the spotlight on Kate Middleton's big day.
00:08Meghan Markle's Netflix holiday special was originally slated to debut in November,
00:12but it will now launch on December 3rd,
00:15just two days before Kate Middleton hosts her annual Royal Carols
00:18together at Christmas event at Westminster Abbey.
00:22During an appearance on Talk TV,
00:24royal expert Kinsey Schofield claimed the move was intentional.
00:26Meghan Markle told the Fortune Most Powerful Women's Summit in Washington, D.C.
00:31that her holiday special was going to be released in November.
00:35And pushing it to December 3rd, I thought,
00:37was intentional because Kate Middleton has her annual Christmas event on December 5th, she said.
00:43Host Mark Donnell replied,
00:44So, she moved her event to the same week.
00:46That is a scorched earth policy.
00:49It's far from the first time royals have been accused of upstaging each other.
00:52Prince Harry, for example, made headlines when he recently traveled to Canada
00:57in honor of Remembrance Day,
00:59while Prince William was in the midst of an official visit to Brazil
01:02for the 2025 Earthshot Prize Awards.
01:05To many inside and outside the Royal Machine,
01:08Harry will appear motivated by resentment and a desire for revenge
01:11rather than respect for the Remembrance calendar.
01:14If so, it is a miscalculation.
01:17And a reminder that the brothers' ceasefire remains anything but secure.
01:21Royal expert Tom Sykes wrote for the Daily Beast.
01:24Kate Middleton might have more than one problem with her yearly holiday gathering.
01:28According to reporter Jasmine Carey,
01:31the ceremony could get awkward if Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie attend,
01:35given their parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson,
01:39recently lost their titles over their ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
01:42While they are not involved in their father's scandals
01:45and have not lost their royal titles like their parents have,
01:48Beatrice and Eugenie's attendants could actually overshadow the event.
01:53She wrote for Daily Express.
