00:31 And just thinking about the potential awkwardness of a royal family Christmas that has Meghan,

00:37 Harry, William, Kate and King Charles all in one room, yeah, that gives me anxiety.

00:49 But getting into the details though, insiders have shared that Kate is kind of on edge thinking

00:55 that Meghan and her family might show up uninvited for a royal face-off during Christmas 2023.

01:03 Recent news suggests that Meghan really wants Prince Harry to mend things with his dad and

01:08 brother, and Kate's concerned that this family drama might spark up again like crazy

01:14 throughout the holiday season.

01:20 The insider also specifically had this to say.

01:22 She's made no secret of the fact that she's also concerned they may effectively try to

01:29 gatecrash the family festivities.

01:32 If that happened, she'd be furious.

01:35 The plans are all so up in the air, they're not sure what's happening, which is naturally

01:41 creating a lot of unsettled feelings, and Kate is feeling stressed and on edge about

01:46 it all.

01:47 Kate just wants a peaceful family Christmas without drama, and she knows that if Harry

01:52 and Meghan show up, it will ruin it, and they'll be forced to endure yet more conflict and

01:59 upset.

02:00 The source spilled some more details too, saying that Prince William is also feeling

02:05 just as on edge as Kate is.

02:07 Apparently he's not too thrilled about the idea of catching up with his brother Harry

02:12 or Harry's wife Meghan, but he's all in to see his niece and nephew though.

02:21 In response to this, one journalist named Lynn Carrot reports that apparently Meghan

02:26 and Harry are open to spending some time with the family during the holidays.

02:32 And here's what she had to say, and I quote,

02:35 According to friends of Meghan and Harry, they are keen to return to the family fold

02:40 to see more of Charles, allow their children Archie and Lilibet to spend the festive season

02:45 with their grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins, which they have never done before.

02:51 One thing to mention is that Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle's rocky relationship goes

02:54 back a few years, and according to a writer, Omid Scobie, in his new book Endgame, Inside

03:01 the Royal Family and the Monarchy's Fight for Survival, he says that Kate wasn't really

03:07 in favour of Meghan from the start.

03:10 He says that her doubts began when Meghan first joined the royal family and things got

03:15 even more strange since Prince Harry and Meghan took a step back from their senior royal roles

03:20 and moved to California in 2020.

03:23 And of course, Prince William and Harry's relationship was a bit strained too, especially

03:28 after Harry claimed in his book Spare that William got physical with him during an altercation

03:35 one time.

03:36 Insiders are saying that Meghan Markle felt she was more qualified than Kate Middleton

03:40 to speak on charitable matters.

03:42 Yep, that is quite the claim.

03:47 Reuters tells The Telegraph that Meghan believed her background in philanthropy granted her

03:51 a greater authority to address certain issues compared to Princess Kate.

04:00 The insider added that upon joining the royal family, the Duchess of Sussex felt she could

04:04 share her wisdom and teach the royal family a thing or two about charity.

04:08 Meghan was also allegedly uncomfortable with the Prince and Princess of Wales holding a

04:12 higher status in the palace hierarchy.

04:21 So now this is where the claims get even nastier.

04:23 As we know, Meghan was an actress prior to joining the royal family, so sources say that

04:28 Meghan felt like she was a self-made woman, having built a career for herself before Prince

04:33 Harry.

04:34 Whereas she felt Kate hadn't really had her own career, so the source said, "She seemed

04:37 to feel like she had more of a right to speak than her sister-in-law, who had married into

04:42 the family as an unknown, whereas Meghan regarded herself as a philanthropist."

04:53 I hope these comments are true.

04:55 First of all, it shouldn't be a contest for who's more charitable, and that's kinda what

04:58 it feels like.

04:59 And second, I think it's unfair to discredit someone's success like that, especially considering

05:03 Prince William and Princess Kate met in college, so majority of her adulthood has been spent

05:08 with him.

05:09 Not to mention, success means different things to different people.

05:12 However, these allegations are simply from a royal insider, and not the royal family.

05:16 Who knows what was really said, if anything at all.

05:19 Now we know there's been rumblings about a feud between Meghan and Kate over the years.

05:23 Omid Scobie previously wrote in his book, Finding Freedom, that Kate did not establish

05:28 a meaningful relationship with Meghan.

05:30 Reports also suggested that Meghan received a lukewarm reception from a more formal William

05:35 and Kate, as the relationship with Prince Harry became serious.

05:39 So in Harry's book, Spare, he mentioned that when he first introduced Meghan to his brother,

05:44 Kate remained in the garden.

05:45 So that wasn't exactly the warm welcome that they had anticipated.

05:48 Of course, Omid's latest book, Endgame, Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy's Fight

05:53 for Survival, makes even more comments about the apparent royal rift.

05:57 Harry and Meghan are currently facing a lot of backlash, as they stay silent on some of

06:02 the more explosive accusations published, specifically regarding the comments two royals

06:06 allegedly made about their son, Archie.

06:09 Though Meghan and Harry previously made these claims to Oprah during their 2021 Tell All

06:13 interview, Meghan said there were conversations in the palace about Archie's skin color.

06:23 However they did not mention by name who made these comments.

06:26 But the Dutch version of Scobie's book revealed that the two royals were King Charles and

06:30 Kate Middleton, allegedly.

06:32 This allegation was only in the Dutch version, and since it was released, Omid has apparently

06:36 insisted that he did not include the names, so I'm not exactly sure what happened there,

06:40 but these are some serious accusations.

06:43 The royal family has yet to publicly comment on any of the stories in Endgame, which is

06:47 a business as usual approach for the firm, but apparently legal action is not off the

06:52 table.

06:53 According to sources, the final decision to take legal action lies with King Charles,

06:57 and he apparently will not act hastily.

07:00 Sources close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex tell the Daily Mail that Meghan never intended

07:04 for King Charles and Princess Kate to be identified in the book.

07:07 Meghan Markle and Princess Kate have had their fair share of difficulties in their relationship,

07:13 and there have been some clear signs that these two women just can't get along at all.

07:22 Author Omid Scobie pointed fingers at Kate Middleton, accusing her of not building a

07:27 meaningful friendship with Meghan in his book, Finding Freedom, written with the collaboration

07:33 of the Sussexes.

07:35 The Duchess, Meghan, never progressed beyond a courteous relationship with Kate, and it

07:42 seems like Kate didn't go out of her way either to make Meghan feel included.

07:52 The Sussexes reportedly believed Kate didn't play a role in bridging the divide between

07:58 the brothers, Harry and William, as she remained fiercely loyal to her husband and the royal

08:04 family.

08:05 Outside of that, though, Meghan is said to have felt that she had a greater right to

08:11 speak compared to her sister-in-law, Kate.

08:19 According to a source from the Telegraph, the Duchess of Sussex saw herself as a self-made

08:23 woman with more life experience than Kate, who has, per Meghan's perspective, hadn't

08:29 really built her own career.

08:39 And here's what the source also added, "She seemed to feel like she had more of a right

08:44 to speak than her sister-in-law, who had married into the family as an unknown, whereas Meghan

08:50 regarded herself as a philanthropist who could teach the royals a thing or two about charity.

08:56 I think she found it difficult that the Royal Foundation was already a well-oiled machine

09:08 Another sign is that in Prince Harry's book, Spare, Prince Harry shares an instance where

09:14 his wife and his sister-in-law, Kate, didn't quite see eye to eye during the early days

09:19 of their relationship.

09:21 There was a disagreement about bridesmaid dresses before their wedding that left Meghan

09:27 in tears, and Kate apparently made a face when Meghan borrowed her lip gloss.

09:33 Also according to Omid Scobie's new book, Endgame, Kate Middleton also reacts with a

09:39 combination of shuddering as well as giggling every time she hears Meghan Markle's name

09:45 mentioned.

09:46 Meghan Markle has also criticized Kate herself in her and Harry's docuseries on Netflix,

09:51 and reflecting on their initial meeting, Meghan expressed her surprise at the formalities

09:56 behind the scene among members of the royal family.

10:00 And she talked about the perceived lack of warmth from Kate, mentioning no-hugging policy

10:06 that seemed to characterize their interactions.

10:09 And speaking about this whole thing in an episode of the docuseries, here's what Meghan

10:15 had to say in her own words.

10:17 When Will and Kate came over and I met her for the first time, they came over for dinner,

10:22 I remember I was in ripped jeans and I was barefoot.

10:25 I was a hugger.

10:26 I've always been a hugger.

10:28 I didn't realize that that is really jarring for a lot of Brits.

10:33 I guess I started to understand very quickly that the formality on the outside carried

10:38 through on the inside.

10:40 There is a forward facing way of being and then you close the door and go, oh, you can

10:46 relax now.

10:47 But the formality carries over on both sides.

10:50 And that was surprising to me.

10:52 And also, another sign was that before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's royal wedding

10:56 in May of 2018, Harry claims that Meghan Markle made a bold remark about Kate, suggesting

11:03 that she must have baby brain due to her hormones.

11:07 The comment didn't sit well at all with Kate, as you can imagine.

11:10 And according to the book, Harry claims that she was very upset and Meghan apologized,

11:17 explaining it was just how she talks to her friends.

11:21 However, William stepped in and reportedly pointed a finger at Meghan and he said, well,

11:27 it's rude, Meghan.

11:29 These things are not done here.

11:31 And that's when Meghan responded by saying, if you don't mind, keep your finger out of

11:35 my face.

11:36 This remark reportedly left Meghan very upset, especially as she was reportedly warned that

11:43 she wasn't close enough to Kate to make remarks about her hormones or just say things like

11:49 that at all to Kate.

11:50 They just weren't there yet on that level.

11:53 So these are just some of the signs from both's perspective.
