How do you feel about having over 80s on the roads? Should they be allowed to drive or banned altogether? From May, over-70s will be expected to take an eye-test, but should the law go further in your opinion?

00:01I think over 80s on the road can be a little bit dangerous if they maybe haven't had an eye
00:05test in a while.
00:07Speaking from experience with a family member, it didn't end very well.
00:10Well, provided past tests and eye tests, I agree with her.
00:15There's such a lot of dementia now, isn't there?
00:18As I'm 70 now, and I've only just finished work and my job was a driver, you know what I
00:23mean?
00:24So, I've worked all the time, drove, it was my job, and now if they take it away from me,
00:32it's time for me to enjoy driving.
00:35So, I do agree you should have tests, eye tests, I agree with all that.
00:38So, I think maybe if they had an eye test and regular health checks, not so much.
00:43I wouldn't be too bothered, but in the mean, yeah.
00:45Definitely if you're not able to, because I know at the moment there's people who are losing their memory.
00:51Yeah, things like that, yeah.
00:53Yeah, definitely no, no, because it is dangerous, isn't it?
00:56Yeah.
00:57It depends on the specific person, really.
