00:00Former House Speaker and later Representative Martin Romualdez stand his ground, saying his conscience remains clear.
00:07This as his response to the recommendation the Independent Commission for Infrastructure and the Department of Public Works and Highways submitted to the Ombudsman to file charges against him regarding flood control anomalies.
00:19According to attorney Ade Fajardo, Romualdez's lawyer, his client remains confident the Ombudsman will remain impartial during the investigation.
00:28The lawyer also assured that Romualdez is just in Metro Manila, continuously working.
00:34In front of the media, attorney Fajardo read the former speaker's statement.
00:41Throughout all these proceedings, no sworn or credible evidence has ever linked me to any irregularity.
00:49And again, my conscience remains clear.
00:53It is now with the Ombudsman.
00:54I trust in the Ombudsman's impartial and thorough review and evaluation.
01:01I do so with confidence that a fair and complete assessment of the record will reflect the truth.
01:10I do so with the Ombudsman here in the form of an Ombudsman.
01:11I pray for improvement in my opinion, thanks to the English and poetry.
