Transcript
00:00The numbers in front of me, the electricity unit rates for someone on standard direct debit
00:04are going up from 26.3p to 27.7p. That's a rise of 5.1%, not 0.2%, 5.1%. The electricity standing
00:15charge, the daily charge, is going up about a penny, which is up 2%. The gas unit rate,
00:21so the cost for each unit of gas you use, that's going down by 5.7%. And the gas standing charge
00:29for the charge you pay for each day you have gas is going up 3%. So what you have is electricity
00:36costs going up and gas prices coming down. So someone who's a heavy electricity user and doesn't
00:42use gas is likely to see on average a 3% or 4%, that's back of the envelope numbers, rise coming
00:48on the 1st of January. So this whole idea that there's a typical use figure and there's a typical
00:53household and the rise is 0.2%. Actually, what's going to happen to you depends very much on your
01:00energy makeup. And some people, those who don't have gas, are going to see substantial rise.
01:05Now this is up.
