Theiß-Reinigungsaktion: Woraus besteht der Abfall?  An einem einzigen Vormittag wurden fast zwei Tonnen Abfall gesammelt. Es ist die Ausbeute einer Gruppe von fünfundsechzig Freiwilligen an einem der Mäander der Theiß in Serbien. Eine Säuberungs- und Sensibilisierungsmaßnahme zum Nutzen der Umwelt und der Wissenschaft. 00:00Our previous actions actually showed that we can collect more than hundreds of kilos of waste.

00:22The students and the professors came here to collect the waste,

00:26but actually they are trying to see how many different kinds of waste we can find along the coast and also in the Tissa River.

00:36We are trying to see if the mainly plastic waste influencing the Tissa River and the occurrence of phthalates in the Tissa River.

00:46We will also examine if there is a pesticide and which group of pesticides,

00:50because when Tissa comes out, it actually ends up at agricultural fields.

01:02This waste is not just an aesthetic, ecological, economic problem in every country,

01:08but the problem is much greater because when it is on the coast, it is actually affecting the water flow.

01:15So it is very important to collect the waste, to free our shores from it, and to make rivers breathe.
