00:00Grey's Anatomy actress Sarah Drew is reflecting on her exit from the ABC medical drama,
00:05calling it mean and unjust. The actress who played Dr. April Kepner was let go from the
00:10ABC medical drama after season 14 in 2018, alongside Jessica Capshaw, who played Dr.
00:16Arizona Robbins. On a recent episode of the Call It What It Is podcast, co-hosted by Capshaw and
00:21Camilla Leddington, Drew said, we were unceremoniously let go in a way that felt mean and unjust.
00:27And because of that, the outpouring of love was so enormous, it was like you were sitting there
00:31watching people eulogize you. However, shortly after her exit, Grey's Anatomy's short-form series
00:36B-Team, which Drew directed, scored an Emmy nomination, which the actress notes helped
00:41her regain confidence and a profound affirmation of her talents. In a previous interview with
00:46Vulture, she did, however, liken her experience celebrating the Emmy nom after exiting the show
00:51to, quote, attending my own funeral. She also previously told THR that the reason for her
00:56firing was because the show had too many characters and that they needed to downsize because they
01:01couldn't service all of the characters effectively. For more on this story, head to THR.com. And be
