00:00There was a time where I nearly wasn't here, and thank God I am, and I'm here to do what I do.
00:10I remember going to, in Bristol, Brianna's vigil, and I think that's when it really hit me how
00:18trans people are treated by a lot of society, and I would like to have thought that back then
00:25things would get easier or better for us, but the fact it's 2025, and we, since April,
00:31since the Supreme Court ruling, we're having to fight for our existence and our rights more
00:37now than ever, and yeah, I look up to people like Brianna, who I never met, but I feel so
00:47connected to now because of her mum, and I do what I do now, and I fight the fight, and
00:55I talk openly about being trans or having, like, my struggles because of people like
01:05her that have transitioned and don't get to live their life authentically because of, obviously,
01:13what happened to her, and I think that spurs me on to take my role and my job so seriously
01:19because there was a time where I nearly wasn't here, and thank God I am, and I'm here to do
01:31what I do, so I think we all need to remember that there's a time where we all feel vulnerable,
01:37and we all feel like we don't fit in for various different reasons, whether you're trans or not,
01:42but Trans Day of Remembrance is remembering the people that, in my eyes, should be here, but
01:51they're not.
