Transcript
00:00Now, when it comes to Christmas plans, it's reported that some Brits may be straying away
00:05from tradition in order to ease their purse strings. Tesco's Christmas Trends report points
00:10to a shift in how some households are approaching the festive meal, with almost a fifth saying they
00:16may choose dishes like curry, pasta or pizza instead of turkey. The report suggests cost
00:24and convenience are shaping decisions for some families. Tesco's data also shows that just over
00:30half of all adults still plan to serve turkey, while around 20% expect to opt for beef and a
00:37similar number for plant-based menus, based on the supermarket survey and sales figures.
00:44Among people aged 25 to 34, only around a fifth choose pigs in blankets as their favourite trimming,
00:51with rice or chips proving more popular, according to Tesco's findings.
