00:00In the age of Artificial Intelligence and 5G, several villages in Odisha are still struggling
00:11for basic mobile network. In Sambalpur district, some areas like Nocti Deol, Jujumura, Redha
00:19Khol and Bamra, people cannot make even a simple phone call let alone use internet services.
00:26When ETV Bharat correspondent visited Rangya Tikkira village in Bamra block, the situation
00:33was shocking. Emergency calls often fail, forcing pregnant women, health workers and students
00:40to walk long distances just to find a signal. In Rangya Tikkira, network appears only at a
00:48few specific spots and even that disappears when the weather turns cloudy. With most government
00:55work now online, education, health services and Aanganwadi functioning and welfare schemes
01:01are badly affected.
01:03Among the villages that have been involved in the morning, having to be safe for it.
01:07The other side where they are travelling, they see a very difficult contact for them.
01:09Yes, the other side where they are holding on and they show up the same direction which is
01:10causing no matter where they are. I am working on the telephone and they don't look up.
01:12Aanganmadi workers say they have to walk daily to certain points to upload data under the portion tracker.
01:42On cloudy days, mothers travel 12 kilometers to Bamra block for facial recognition so their benefits are not stopped.
01:52Aasha workers struggle too. During labor emergencies, relatives come running to their houses for help because phones simply don't work indoors.
02:03Ambulance calls also often require walking outside the village to catch a signal.
02:09Villagers say call drop within seconds and during medical emergencies, lives are at risk.
02:16There are around 20 children in the local Aanganmadi and thankfully no serious casualty has been reported so far during any medical emergency in the village.
02:27In the hospital, there are so many dangers not to raise money to buy an oil, as its kids can ride away.
02:35However, the hospital has lost a lot of money in the hospital.
02:40Looking forward to the hospital, we have to get a call for the hotel.
02:43I hope you have a better day.

03:38because there is no network inside the health centre.
