Former fast bowler Steven Finn believes England have their best chance of winning in Australia in 15 years
Transcript
00:00England haven't won a test in Australia for 14 years which kind of is a nod
00:04towards how the challenge that these guys face whilst they're down there but
00:09yeah I really do think that this is England's best chance in 15 years to
00:13bring the Ashes' Earn home.
00:19As soon as you land in Australia you've got everyone is on you telling you that
00:24you're going to get hammered and yeah it's a really difficult place to tour
00:28but that's what makes succeeding there so much more satisfying if this England
00:32team win down there they'll go down his history as one of the few teams that have
00:36won in Australia so the sense of optimism and opportunity I think when you embark
00:42on a tour like this are the things that set it aside from from other series that
00:46you play as an England cricketer there's a degree of turbulence in the Australia
00:54camp in terms of not exactly knowing their lineup going into the first test
00:58their captain Pat Cummins is missing so you have those caveats that come along
01:02with it but if you use that as giving you a lift I think you then underestimate
01:05the person who's coming in to take his place and Scott Boland we must remember
01:09bold England out for very low totals in the last Ashes series down under so
01:15England would not want to celebrate Pat Cummins not being there because of the
01:20depth that Australia have
01:23there was a slight change in rhetoric in the summer towards England's attitude
01:31towards playing cricket I don't like using the term basball because Stokes and
01:34McCollum don't like using it but I think that the manner in which they play they
01:38tempered slightly this summer and I think that they benefited from playing
01:42situations better as opposed to just playing one way and in one gear the whole
01:47time being able to shift it up and down those gears is an important element of
01:51being good at test match cricket and I think Stokes and McCollum both recognized
01:54that at the beginning of the 20-25 summer and I think that that will bode
01:59them well going into the Ashes as well
02:00I think it's gonna be a really tight series I think there's going to be
02:07significant flash points within games that the team that wins those pressure
02:12moments and stays calm in those moments and isn't overawed by the situation
02:16will be the team that comes out on the right side of the result at the end of the
02:19series so I think it'll be 3-2 either way and I think it could very well be 3-2 to England
