00:00I'm here to make the following announcement.

00:02Tonight, in the role of Burt Allenberry,

00:05will be my understudy, Chaz Firestone.

00:10He's learned almost all the lines.

00:12It's going to be all right.

00:13Ladies and gentlemen, I just want to say,

00:15there is proof that there is a God

00:17because Kenny Leon came to us to direct this world of tomorrow.

00:22I cannot tell you about the blessing that has come about us

00:25because of his guidance and his uncompromising

00:29let's just call it f***iness.

00:31How about that?

00:32Can I say that at the shed?

00:35We have a cast that is literally a combination of Angels in Heaven

00:41as well as the 1927 Yankees.

00:44Kelly O'Hara, Ruben Santiago Hudson, J.O. Sanders, Donald Weber.

00:51It's a magnificent cast to be a part of.

00:54But, outside of the words on the page

01:00is an elusive idea of how to communicate something beyond the page itself.

01:08And this does not happen without the guidance of a man

01:12who asks all the right questions,

01:14gives all the right orders,

01:16and constantly begins every day with a question of

01:20what have you learned about the human condition and this world

01:24beyond this rehearsal hall and this theater.

01:28We are blessed to be a part here with Alex Poots and the shed.

01:33God knows New York could use some culture,

01:35and so it's nice to have a not-for-profit cultural center

01:39because who's going to trust, you know, the rest of this cuckoo city?

01:44I can't tell you how great it is to be here at the shed every day.

01:48Why?

01:49Because it is officially the last stop on the 7 train.

01:55It is so easy to get to.

01:59I'm going to run back there.

02:00We're just getting to weather for our vocal warm-ups.

02:02We did a line run-through because everybody gets so tanked

02:06and wasted on our days off.

02:09Most of the cast has forgot even the characters that they play.

02:13I'm going to go back and remind them of that.

02:15But I would just like to ask everybody to remember

02:18when someone says,

02:20Oh, you've been to the shed.

02:21You saw a play down there.

02:22Did you see Kenny Leon's production of This World of Tomorrow?

02:26Yeah, I did.

02:29Well, it's easy.
