00:00Everton finally ended a frustrating run of one victory in eight games in all competitions
00:07with a 2-0 win over Fulham, but the performance highlighted ongoing concerns over the productivity
00:13of their forwards. With strikers Beto and Tino Barry having scored just once between them in
00:19the Premier League this season, the onus fell on others to step up and it was defensive midfielder
00:25Idrissa Gueye and centre-back Michael Keane, who delivered the decisive contributions.
00:32The opener came in the fourth minute of the first half added time. Gueye capitalised after
00:37Timo Moulin failed to convert from close range, following James Tarkovsky's header that rebounded
00:43off the crossbar. Gueye's strike, his second of the season, helped Everton break the deadlock
00:48in a match that had seen three prior offside flags deny them a clear chance.
00:54Barry starting back-to-back league games for the first time, despite a glaring miss at
00:59Sunderland, showed pace and movement, but still lacks the physical presence required of a Premier
01:04League striker. Even Dewarsby Hall had a goal chalked off and substitute Rodrigo Munez was
01:10denied by Jordan Pickford in Fulham's rare moments of threat.
01:14He'd missed a couple of days training, to be fair to him, but Tiano's the same. Tiano has
01:20to get used to the physicality, being a centre-forward in the Premier League, what you're going to
01:24come up against, the challenges. But if he was scoring then you wouldn't think too much
01:32of the others, but while he's not scoring then he's going to have to be very good. I thought
01:35the other parts of the game today, the main he'd done, I thought he worked his nuts off,
01:39I thought he ran hard, he was committed for the team. I thought he'd done a really good
01:44job for the team today. Despite the concerns Moyes could take solace from the overall team
01:50performance, Everton created chances, defended resolutely and claimed their first win since
01:56early October, moving Fulham to just a point above the bottom three. While defensive, solidity
02:02and midfield contributions have carried the team, finding a reliable goal threat up front
02:07remains imperative if Everton are to avoid another slip in the Premier League standings.
02:14Thank you very much.
