A new draft resolution from the US, UK, and France — known collectively as the E3 — has been introduced at the IAEA Board of Governors, calling on Iran to swiftly cooperate with international nuclear inspectors. The motion urges Tehran to address long-standing monitoring gaps, provide clarifications on undeclared sites, and allow full verification access.
Western diplomats argue the resolution is necessary due to Iran’s stalled engagement and continued nuclear advancements, while Tehran dismisses the move as politically motivated. The IAEA has repeatedly raised concerns about reduced transparency, unexplained uranium particles at multiple locations, and limited access for inspectors.
00:30of course our work in the Islamic Republic of Iran is extremely important since the last time we met we have continued our efforts consultations with Iran ambassador with your foreign minister with others in Tehran trying to restore the normalcy of our inspection work in the country
01:00and I think there's there has been some movement and I recognize that we have returned to Iran and a number of inspections have taken place more than a dozen by today
01:16I think it has been a very busy period through the nation
01:21but of course there's still more that needs to be done in accordance with the corresponding provisions of the comprehensive safeguards agreements
01:35and we hope that our engagement with Iran Iran with us us with Iran will continue in that in that direction this is of extreme importance I think for for all of us and in general for the for the international community
01:53we hope that we will be able to continue to believe and continue to be convinced that there is no other solution but a diplomatic solution to this whole thing
02:07and that requires engagement and understanding on our part and also full compliance on the part of Iran of its obligations
02:15lacking that we will continue to stumble from problem into problem and not be in the place we all want to be
02:26I think we can say without without of course indicating that we are in a perfectly stable situation
02:38it continues to be extremely perilous and extremely fragile at least the plant has the necessary
02:48minimal external power supply and and minimal redundancy which is very very important
03:00all right I said this morning to the board we have started we have performed a number of inspections but we have not been able to go to the attack sites
03:16yet I hope we will be able indeed we have to go because this is part of Iran's commitments
