The UK has warned Russia after British defence minister John Healey confirmed that the Russian spy ship Yantar directed lasers at RAF pilots monitoring the vessel near Scotland. Healey called the action “deeply dangerous” and said the UK has “military options ready” if the ship’s behaviour escalates. The Navy has updated its rules of engagement to track Yantar more closely as tensions between London and Moscow rise.
