A massive fire has torn through the Saganoseki district of Oita City in southern Japan, destroying more than 170 buildings and forcing around 175 people to evacuate. The blaze began on Tuesday evening and quickly spread through the neighborhood.

Authorities say one person is still missing as firefighters continue battling the flames, which have now expanded into nearby forested areas. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and local officials have warned residents to stay clear of the danger zone.
