00:10Hey guys, it's Allie for Hollywood Life with a little royal update for you ahead of King Charles' coronation on May 6.
00:17Recall King Charles III became the king of the UK and 14 other Commonwealth realms right after his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, died in September 2022.
00:27But the traditional coronation, where he will be crowned, will take place on May 6, 2023.
00:34His wife Camilla will also be crowned as Queen Consort at the ceremony, and the event will mark the oldest person to accede to the British throne.
00:42As always with the royals, there will be a ton of pomp and circumstance surrounding the event, especially when it comes to the guest list.
00:482,000 guests will be receiving the stunning hand-printed invitations designed by UK artist Andrew Jameson.
00:55Take That members Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, and Howard Donald are set to headline the coronation concert The Sun had reported,
01:02while the band's other member, Robbie Williams, reportedly turned down the offer.
01:06The coronation will also reportedly feature composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, singer Lionel Richie, singer Ollie Mears,
01:12and choirs from the UK, including refugee choirs, NHS choirs, LGBTQ+, singing groups, and deaf singing choirs.
01:19Other artists who were reportedly asked to perform but declined include Adele, Ed Sheeran, Elton John, Kylie Minogue, and Harry Styles.
01:28Both Ed and Harry apparently turned down the offers due to scheduling conflicts, but it's unclear why the rest of the artists declined.
01:35It was also reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were invited to the coronation via email,
01:42but as of March, their spokesperson said they had yet to make a decision about their attendance.
01:46Today, Buckingham Palace confirmed that Prince Harry would be attending his father's coronation, but solo.
01:52Though unclear how the decision was reached, Meghan Markle will not be attending the service,
01:56nor will their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
01:59Harry's attendance will mark the first time that he's been with his family since the publication of his scathing autobiography, Spare.
02:07As for the rest of the family, King Charles' other son, Prince William, and his wife, Kate Middleton, are expected to be at the coronation.
02:14Their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, are also reportedly attending.
