Eastern Taiwan Town Floods as Tropical Storm Fung Wong Approaches

With Tropical Storm Fung Wong approaching, the Matai'an River in eastern Taiwan has overrun its banks as it did in September, flooding another town along its northern banks.

00:00Fenghuang has already brought heavy rain to Hualien, causing the Matai'an River to overflow and flood a local village.

00:07Footage from Monday night shows flood water bursting the northern banks and flowing into the Mingli village's streets.

00:14All 50-some residents in the area have evacuated to safety.

00:18The Matai'an overflowed and inundated the Guangfu Township on the other side of the river in late September.

00:24Although much of Guangfu was cleaned up, Mingli residents say they've been neglected.
