00:00The Football Association of Malaysia will appeal the sanctions FIFA imposed in September over the controversy on the naturalization of seven national players at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
00:12In a statement, FAM Acting President Yusof Mahadis said the national football governing body decided to do so upon receiving the full written grounds for FIFA's rejection of its appeal.
00:23Earlier today, FMT reported that FIFA would probe FAM over the fiasco and that he had taken the association to task for shielding those responsible for submitting the falsified documents.
00:35Yusof said the appeal to CAS will ensure that justice is upheld and defend the eligibility of the players, which has been determined by the Malaysian government and related agencies.
00:45On November 3rd, FIFA announced that it had rejected FAM's appeal against its sanctions in its entirety and that Harimau Malaya's points in their ongoing 2027 Asian Cup qualifying campaign might be docked.
