00:00FIFA has rejected the Football Association of Malaysia's appeal against sanctions imposed on the national football body and seven players.
00:10As a result, the national team will be docked points in their ongoing 2027 Asian Cup qualifying campaign.
00:18In a statement today, FIFA affirmed the imposition of the sanctions on FAM and the seven players in its entirety.
00:24FAM and the players now have 10 days to request a motivated decision, and following this notification, the parties will have 21 days to file a possible appeal before the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
00:39In response, FAM Acting President Yusuf Mahathir said the association will write to FIFA to obtain the full written grounds for its decision.
00:47Last month, FIFA penalised FAM and seven naturalised Malaysian footballers after the World Football Body said
00:55FAM had submitted falsified documents to confirm the players' eligibility before Malaysia's 2027 Asian Cup qualifier against Vietnam on June 10,
