00:00What you can close the book on, Ryan, is the idea of Justin Fields being any sort of long-term quarterback for the Jets.
00:07There's a good chance they just move on from him this offseason and eat the money.
00:11Really? Do you think they move on from him?
00:13I do. I think at this point, you know, I don't think he's what you're looking for in a backup quarterback necessarily.
00:19Like, you're looking for Tyrod Taylor.
00:21You're looking for someone that if you need to play a few games, you know what you're getting.
00:25The problem with Justin Fields is you just don't know what you're getting, you know, week to week, drive to drive even.
00:31And I think you have to start thinking about it. It's a lot of money.
00:34You know, they could post June 1st and spread it over two years.
00:37But remember, they already have a ton of money on the books for Aaron Rodgers next year.
00:41So it's a lot of dead money at quarterback if you're moving on.
00:45But we've seen teams in recent years, that's been the trend now.
00:49It used to be you never did that.
00:51Starting basically with the Broncos, with Russell Wilson, where they've just eaten the money.
00:55on these quarterbacks, and I think the Jets will probably have to consider that now.
