00:372008年の4月8日、高楽園ホールで行われた2008チャンピオンカーニバルから、川田俊明対田橋博史の一戦です。

00:44いや、目面を見ただけでも非常に貴重な一戦であることは皆さんよくお分かりかと思います。

00:51かつての四天王と呼ばれた川田俊明対新高校の三重士、田橋博史の一騎打ち。

00:57おそらく間違ってなければ、これが最初で最後になってしまったのではないでしょうか。

01:02はい、いろいろ書いておりますけども、川田俊明選手は2005年の無所属宣言以降ですね。

01:08ちょっと全日本プロレスとは水をあけていたものの、2006年の太陽ケア選手から逆指名されたこの参加のB級王座戦に出場して以来ですね。

01:172007年ぐらいからまた定期的に全日本プロレスに参戦するようになりました。

01:21今回この2008年のチャンピオンカーニバルが15度目の出場ということになります。

01:26対する13歳年下の田橋博史選手。

01:30若手の頃はですね、新日本プロレスとどちらかというとノアGHCタッグ王座体幹だったりとか、ノアでの活躍が多かった印象です。

01:39そこでですね、まあ敗れてはしまいましたけども三沢光春選手とのタッグマッチ、GHタッグをかけた一戦もございました。

01:452005年の2月、かつての月人武藤刑事に誘われて全日本プロレスでシングルマッチを行うことになります。

01:52この試合もね、以前ご紹介させていただきました。

01:54惜しくもね、敗北はしてしまいましたが、この苦境を乗り越えたのが翌年の7月。

01:59時のチャンピオンブロックレスナーが来日を拒否して空位となったIWGPヘビー級ベルトをかけた決定戦。

02:06ジャイアントバーナード選手に勝利し、自身初のIWGPヘビー級王座を体幹いたしました。

02:11ここからですね、どんどんうなぎ登りに成長していく棚橋宏選手。

02:16翌年にはG1クライマックスを発生発し、そして2008年の3月1日、全日本プロレスの両国大会においてチャンピオンカーニバル参戦を表明いたしました。

02:25この年の棚橋宏選手の試合はですね、これまでバトルWBシリーズでは数々取り上げてきました。

02:31優勝決定戦の対諏訪選手、そしてこの予選ブロックで行われた武藤圭司対棚橋宏、そして小島敏史対棚橋宏という一戦は以前にお届けしておりますが、こちらもね、非常にいい試合なわけですね。
