00:00Yo, what's good GQ?
00:01This is Myles Garrett.
00:02These are 10 things I can't live without.
00:12This is my cologne, LV.
00:13I think everybody should have a cologne or a fragrance
00:15of the season or the year.
00:17And for me, I switched it up from Meteore to this right here.
00:21I've only gotten good reviews.
00:22And I feel like everyone should just continue to mix it up,
00:26diversify, and find something that really fits for you.
00:30Don't rub it together.
00:35You mess up the scent when you do that.
00:37You do this.
00:38So don't dull the scent by rubbing your wrists together.
00:40Just let it sit.
00:41It'll be fine.
00:45All my friends, family know I put syrup on anything.
00:48Especially in breakfast, like eggs, toast, french toast,
00:53waffles, pancakes.
00:54Really doesn't matter.
00:55Syrup goes on everything.
00:57It's the best condiment you can have.
00:58Angel Mima and Miss Buttersworth.
01:01The hood classics.
01:02We know.
01:03We got this right here.
01:04But we know what we were using back in the day.
01:06I'll take Shady on this occasion.
01:08I mean, it's usually from Canada.
01:10They usually got the syrup locked down.
01:12But we need a little bit more sugar in ours.
01:14That's how we do.
01:15Just to get you right.
01:18It's not yogurt.
01:19It's a dairy cup.
01:2020 grams of protein.
01:22Get you up right in the morning.
01:23Get it before, you know, workouts.
01:25Try to get something in.
01:26So, you know, I'm not feeling bloated.
01:28But I got, you know, some beneficial, you know, nutrition early.
01:31Get some bananas.
01:32Some granola.
01:33I'm really set, you know, going into a workout.
01:37And afterwards, you know, double it up.
01:39Get some creatine.
01:40Get some more protein.
01:41And, you know, this is how you get what you're looking at right now.
01:44Next essential, my camera, man.
01:49If I'm going anywhere, I need a camera of some kind.
01:52But right now, I got my Fujifilm X, Y, and the V.
01:55Sometimes I got my Canon.
01:57I got an A1.
01:58I got a Sony A1.
02:00I got a Hasselblad X2D.
02:03Like, if I'm going somewhere, I'm taking pictures.
02:06I'm not a video guy.
02:07I literally love just taking stills.
02:09And I like to travel, you know, go to different places across the world.
02:13I like making, you know, big pictures.
02:15Blowing them up.
02:16Putting them up in the house.
02:17Giving out to friends, family.
02:18So just helping them experience, you know, some of the things I get to see through my
02:22life and through my lens.
02:23I went to Patagonia around this time just to give a little time to myself, decompress.
02:29But I knew they had some interesting wildlife out there.
02:32So I was just trying to, you know, work on my skills by myself and just hone my craft.
02:36But I also love to take pictures of, you know, people just doing their thing, whether that's
02:41candidly or, you know, on the sports field or court.
02:44I'm still impressed by, you know, the many things that people are able to do and able
02:47to accomplish with just, you know, hard work and, you know, great grit and will.
02:51Wherever I can fit in, I'll get in and I'll take my chance and run with it.
02:55Got my own, you know, photography Instagram, Man of Tomorrow.
02:58You know, in my life, you know, because, you know, it gets more interesting by the day.
03:01You know, I'm blessed to be around some very interesting people.
03:04Well, I'm kind of just, you know, here holding the camera.
03:09Next essential, my Game Boy Advance.
03:11I had one before that.
03:12It broke.
03:13So I had to go get it fixed.
03:14And I got this one in the meantime.
03:15I was like, you know, I'll get another and kind of personalized it for myself.
03:19I gave the last one to my sister.
03:22I got a Game Boy Color for my mother while I was in Japan.
03:25I got her Tetris.
03:26That's just the only video game I've ever seen her play.
03:28So I was like, you know, I got to get it while I'm here.
03:30I'm big into Pokemon.
03:31I can't lie.
03:32Since like the red and blue days, I've been playing Pokemon for years.
03:35Castlevania, Tetris, Super Mario Bros.
03:38My boy just got me Tony Hawk Pro Skater.
03:41If you see me like walking around the airport or just chilling on the side,
03:44I'm probably playing my Game Boy.
03:50Next essential are my pick, my toothbrush.
03:53I got my pick here.
03:54You know, I got to make sure, you know, I'm looking good.
03:56You know, my hair is looking good.
03:58My dad always said, you know, you need to take care of your hygiene.
04:00Take care of your hair.
04:01That's what I've made sure to do for all these years.
04:04Because he wouldn't let me grow it unless I did take care of it.
04:06So, you know, thank you to the old man for keeping me on that.
04:09Let your toothbrush.
04:10Make it easy on yourself.
04:11Slow brush your teeth.
04:13Floss.
04:14Tongue scraper.
04:15And just take care of yourself, man.
04:17Ain't nobody trying to deal with halitosis a bad breath.
04:19I got the mix and match black and white because I have to get a new toothbrush head.
04:23So, you know, it is what it is.
04:24But if you get a new toothbrush head, that means you brush your teeth.
04:27So.
04:32Headphones.
04:33Anywhere I'm going, I'm playing music.
04:35Last thing I've been on was Weekend's album.
04:37That's this new Hurry Up Tomorrow.
04:38I think I've been bumping it like every day.
04:40You know, just any given day, I'm just, you know, listening to music.
04:43That's just how I vibe, whether it's The Weekend, whether it's Donny Hathaway, MJ, Marvin Gaye.
04:49I'm bumping some music.
04:51I'm bumping something.
04:52The vibe kind of like determines itself.
04:54Like, I don't go into it thinking like, yo, I'm finna be listening to 21 Savage.
04:58Let me listen to Disturbed.
05:00Like, nothing like that.
05:02During game day, I'm usually just trying to find one of those songs that I can't get out of my head.
05:06I feel like I focus better when I have just one that stuck with me.
05:10After that, you know, you're just trying to decompress.
05:13You want anything that can just help you relax.
05:15Because at that point, you don't need to be turnt up.
05:18You're just trying to get back home and watch everybody else ball out.
05:23My next essential is chopsticks.
05:26Our chopsticks, however you want to word it.
05:28You know what I mean.
05:29I was gifted some Demon Slayer chopsticks with Rengoku and Nezuko.
05:35Like I said, I've been in Japan.
05:37I like to travel a lot.
05:38I'm big into sushi.
05:39I'm really just big into Japanese food in general.
05:41This food is some of the best in the world.
05:44Can't go anywhere without my chopsticks, I guess.
05:47I watched my mom.
05:48She was the first one to take me to go get sushi.
05:50She had been eating sushi forever.
05:52Little California rolls.
05:53We're better than that now.
05:54We've upgraded.
05:55She showed me how to hold them.
05:56And I just, just kept on going to get food after that.
05:59Just, you know, going to get sushi, ramen.
06:02And like, it just kind of became easier and easier.
06:05You know, they tell you that you don't really know how to use chops until you can pick up a single grain of rice.
06:10And like, I just ended up like trying to practice in that.
06:12But I remember she didn't want to take me because she was like, you know, if I get them to like this, there are never going to be any more remains in the refrigerator.
06:20You know, let me just try this California roll one time.
06:23Then she gave me this one called the Incredible Hulk.
06:25And I never looked back.
06:26I was eating everything out the fridge.
06:30Sunglasses.
06:32You got to be able to accessorize.
06:34You know, you got to take these wherever you're going.
06:36Winter, spring, summer, or fall, the sun's going to be out eventually.
06:39You got to be able to take care of yourself.
06:40You got to be able to take care of your eyes.
06:42Along with those sunglasses, you know, you got to be able to have a watch.
06:45Fortunately enough to be blessed to be able to get myself an AP.
06:48I remember my dad telling me at a young age that, you know, if you're going out, you need a watch.
06:51You need to know what time it is.
06:52You need to come back before those street lights come on.
06:54So, I've been wearing a watch for a long time.
06:57I've been avoiding whoopings, you know, with that same logic.
07:01And I guess I'll employ that same logic with, you know, my kids when I have some one day.
07:05You know, having a watch is imperative, especially at a young age.
07:08I don't plan on giving my kid a phone unless there's Nokia with Snake in the proper time.
07:13So, until then, accessorize.
07:15You know, keep your clock winded.
07:17And, you know, continue to look good.
07:23Next essential, iPad here.
07:24I know it probably doesn't look like it with the case and all these stickers.
07:28I get bored and I like stickers.
07:30You know, during the football season, you know, you're sitting around too many meetings.
07:33You're in there for like four or five hours just, you know, sitting and going over tape, watching your opponent.
07:39I'm big on Godzilla, so I have a lot of Godzilla stickers that I got from Japan.
07:43I use it for, you know, watching anime.
07:46I feel like it's impacting my generation as a whole.
07:48You know, you have a whole lot of athletes and kids who are doing like different, you know, anime celebrations inspired by different, you know, characters.
07:57Like Naruto has to be up there or at least Naruto Shippuden if you put the whole thing.
08:03Pokemon.
08:04I've been a Pokemon fan for a long time, man.
08:06Like you saw, like the Game Boy.
08:08Ash and his journey.
08:10I think that mirrored a lot of us as kids journeys, you know, growing up, you know, being part of that fad.
08:15Maybe it's just nostalgia, but that's a big one for me.
08:18Say Fullmetal Alchemist.
08:19Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, whether you want to patch them together.
08:22Amazing.
08:23Amazing storytelling.
08:25We got...
08:26Hunter, Hunter.
08:27That was the first one, like, I felt like emotional attached to.
08:31Every episode with the characters, like, I didn't know, like, who was going to go.
08:35I didn't know who was going to die.
08:37You know, seeing Gon, like, experience the world, like, from his, like, childish, like, innocence.
08:44You know, being exposed to, like, you know, death and heartbreak and his relationship with Qtua.
08:51It was just...
08:52It was tough.
08:53It was a rollercoaster.
08:54And I'm looking forward to seeing it continue.
08:56And then lastly, can't wait to see Vinland Saga get finished out.
09:00That was probably the biggest one for me as far as, like, emotional, action-packed,
09:06and just, you know, a lot of fun.
09:08And then shout out to Ranking of Kings.
09:10That's where I got my dog's name from.
09:11Bo G.
09:16Thank you, GQ, for having me.
09:17These are my 10 essentials.
09:18See y'all next time.
09:19All love.
