00:00I love food so much.
00:01I'm so passionate about food.
00:02It's like, honestly, over anything.
00:05Over the opposite sex, over the same sex,
00:08over sex in general.
00:09Hey, it's SZA.
00:10I'm with GQ, and these are my 10 things
00:13that I can't live without.
00:15But I probably could if I was forced to,
00:17except for my dog.
00:18My first item would be my water.
00:3364 ounces.
00:34I just prefer that size,
00:35because it's just like the perfect amount.
00:38It's almost too much, but not too much.
00:40So I try to go through, like, I don't know, two of these.
00:43I'd be really proud of myself if I go through one.
00:45But two is like, you're onto something,
00:47you're changing your life.
00:48I also add chlorophyll all the time.
00:50It's my favorite chlorophyll brand.
00:51It works really well.
00:52One time when I was doing Pilates, hot Pilates.
00:54There's a difference.
00:55And I was sweaty.
00:58And I just hated the way I smelled.
00:59Like, literally, it was just bothering me.
01:01And I just was reading about chlorophyll
01:03for, like, other reasons.
01:04And I noticed I was using so much of it,
01:07and then I didn't smell.
01:08And so that's also a nice benefit to chlorophyll.
01:11You can also just not have chlorophyll at all.
01:15That jug, though, it's not negotiable.
01:18What do you want to do with your dog?
01:21Hey, Glick.
01:22My dog, she's at least 10, maybe older than that.
01:28She's in the Teen Spirit music video.
01:31I bought her on the lunch break of that video shoot.
01:34I love her.
01:35I can't do anything without her.
01:37She comes on tour with me.
01:38She does everything.
01:39And I just love her.
01:40She's a granny.
01:42Well, when I first got her, I bought her off the internet.
01:45And she had giant ears and a really small head.
01:47And it was just like, you look like a bat.
01:49Or just like a pig-bat combo.
01:52And her face was all, like, it was just so cute.
01:54So she just looked like that to me.
01:56Like a piglet.
01:57My inhaler, albedo all boys.
02:02Yay.
02:03It's been an essential for quite some time.
02:06But really only exercise, like just before a show,
02:09or actually in the studio when I'm sitting still,
02:12because being able to, like, open my bronchial tubes
02:15and, like, hit better notes,
02:18because I could breathe better or, like, hit them longer.
02:20Anyway, inhaler.
02:21Also when I'm mad, I'm out of breath.
02:24Okay, my next essential is lip something.
02:32Any sort of lip product, specifically mine.
02:35Not beauty.
02:36I literally created this because I couldn't go a second
02:39without something on my lips.
02:41But the stain, I have the full combo right now.
02:43I have the lip cream, I have the stain, and the gloss.
02:47So it's just like a, it's just, I love my lip combo.
02:51I'm passionate.
02:52And I don't want to think about it.
02:53I literally just need to go eat food.
02:57I need to eat a chili cheese dog
02:58and be able to have my lips on to some extent.
03:01So I made a stain and a gloss
03:03and a liner that lasts forever
03:05and a cream color that I really like
03:06and a moisturizing serum as well that I love.
03:10And I just can't wait for everybody
03:11to see the other products.
03:13I feel like everything in my lab that I like a lot,
03:17I just want to share with other people.
03:19And I think it's what leads me to making shit.
03:23And I feel good about everything.
03:24Like whether it's designing clothes
03:26or making sounds or food.
03:28It's like, I know food.
03:31Y'all don't know that I know food yet, but you will.
03:35Okay, this is my next thing.
03:43Thank you, mystery hand.
03:45You know, I'm a creature of habit
03:48and everything that I do is actually really terrible.
03:50And I don't know, the kids call it hyper fixation, whatever.
03:55I eat the same thing for like a year at a time.
03:57And then I change it.
03:59And this has actually been lasting several years.
04:02So what I do is like, okay, so I order the white lightning,
04:04which is a pizza.
04:06Okay, then the house salad.
04:10Then the little gem salad.
04:13And I was like, why do you need two salads?
04:14Because one of them is actually not a salad.
04:18Buffalo garlic dip.
04:20And the star of my show, the chicken cutlet.
04:24When I was like, oh, two salads.
04:26No, this, you take the house salad.
04:29You mix it, you do the Sheboygan.
04:33Then you put it on the pizza.
04:35Once you mix it, you take the pizza.
04:38You fold her gently.
04:41So then you put it on top of this.
04:43And then, perfect, perfect, perfect, perfect.
04:46It's so perfect.
04:47But then at the same time, you got to go chicken cutlet.
04:51You know, some people like it plain.
04:53You don't need a lot.
04:54You don't need a lot when you're a star player.
04:56It's just a regular chicken cutlet.
04:58It's just, it's fire.
05:00You know, I was actually about to put this in my mouth.
05:02I forgot the plot of the movie.
05:04But that's how I eat it.
05:07But you mix it with the buffalo garlic dip.
05:10And it's so fire.
05:11Like, I just, yeah, just .
05:16It's so good.
05:18This is your salad.
05:19They have anchovies in the dressing.
05:21So it's like, technically, it's like a freaky Caesar.
05:25And you have the little lettuces
05:26and like the little individual pieces like this.
05:29And then you dip it in the sauce.
05:31And you dip it in the Parmesan.
05:32And then you dip it in the breadcrumb.
05:34And it's like that.
05:35My next essential is my grandma's jewelry.
05:41Yay.
05:42I love sentimental shit of all types.
05:45So it's like, you know, like I wear like Linga Bhattavi
05:49all the time as Mercury inside of this,
05:50which holds the energies.
05:52This is Imani, that's my middle name.
05:53It means faith.
05:54It's just like, sometimes I have nameplates
05:56for all my names and I just wear different ones
05:58because the meanings, like, I don't know.
06:00I just want to like have different energy,
06:02like as a reminder.
06:03So I felt like I needed a little bit of faith on me.
06:05So I wore the Imani one,
06:06cause it's just a reminder that I keep the faith,
06:08have the faith.
06:09See, this ring never comes off.
06:10It actually ended up growing around my fingers
06:12cause long live Norma, that's my granny's name.
06:15My friend got it for me immediately after she died
06:17and I just never took it off
06:18and then my hand grew around it.
06:20So that's there.
06:21And then this is her actual ring right here.
06:25I love Audrey, it's so good.
06:27And then on this, this is my grandma ring.
06:29It said N-H, but the H broke off.
06:31So it's now, it's just like N, N-P.
06:33My mom actually got it for her
06:34when she was superior when she was in college.
06:36I think that's just so cute
06:37that she got my grandma like a name ring
06:39at any point in initial.
06:42Sunscreen, but not the punk ass, like 30 SPF.
06:47Sunscreen, but not the punk ass, like 30 SPF.
06:51I need, and not the Avobenzene.
06:53I need a physical sunscreen, a physical.
06:56There's a difference between sunblock and sunscreen actually.
06:59And this is sunblock.
07:01The zinc version, the mineral version is a sunblock.
07:05And then the Avobenzene or the chemical version
07:08is more of a sunscreen and I am in the middle
07:13of healing my acne scars.
07:14So I'm using like a retinol and like a AHA alternate situation
07:20and I need sunscreen.
07:21I wear sunscreen every day.
07:24And I either just commit to the like crazy white cash.
07:27It's not like so crazy.
07:28It's not like Casper, but it, you know, it's there.
07:31Or I just put like a little something over it
07:35and just like keep it moving.
07:37I'm always going to be a beach nature girl.
07:39I'm never, I'm just not a city girl.
07:42I'm just not, I love anywhere really.
07:44I will say that that's a blessing.
07:45I can find like happiness and appreciation for anywhere.
07:50If it's like anywhere green, it could be a park in a corner
07:55with a good tree, with a good breeze on a great afternoon.
07:58Or it could be in the middle of a secret waterfall
08:01that nobody told me about in Wales on like a six hour hike.
08:10Okay.
08:11I guess next is, okay.
08:13Really it's just like a fizzy drink.
08:15I just want to say that like it could be sparkling something.
08:19This is my new shit.
08:20I found it at Alejandra's house and we ransacked her fridge
08:25and it's delicious.
08:26Everyone else likes the grape and the, the orange.
08:29I like the lychee, lychee.
08:32Please don't attack me.
08:33I don't know how to say it properly.
08:34It's delicious.
08:37The next essential is my Invisalign that I never wear.
08:42Isn't that funny?
08:42Okay.
08:43So I got my braces off so long ago, like in middle school
08:46to high school.
08:48I never wore my retainer.
08:49It was crazy.
08:50I like developed a crazy overjet, different than an overbite,
08:53changed the whole shape of my jaw and I got Invisalign.
08:56So then it pushed my teeth back and like made little spaces
08:58in between my teeth to push my teeth back.
09:00Cause I'm like, oh, I want to like get rid of my overjet.
09:02And then it started to like change my jaw and change my teeth.
09:05And I was like, cool.
09:06Then I got lazy because I saw a little bit of something
09:08and I was like, that's enough of commitment.
09:11So then I stopped wearing them.
09:13And now I just can't wear my Invisalign or when I'm like,
09:17really like, I'm going to change my life around.
09:19I start wearing my Invisalign again.
09:20I guess my last essential will be a yoga mat in real life.
09:28I don't use like a black yoga mat because sometimes absorbing energy
09:32is like a lot and your yoga mat is going to absorb all your energy
09:35because you use it a lot.
09:36So my actual yoga mat is orange and it's Isha's orange.
09:41But this is cute.
09:43I'm not like a, like a Shtanga teacher or anything so crazy or like a Hatha teacher.
09:49I just really love and value like Kriya yoga and traditional yoga.
09:52I've done a bunch of yoga programs and every day I feel like it's
09:57pretty much the only like infallible thing next to prayer.
10:03It almost is a form of prayer, but it's not religious.
10:05It's really a system.
10:06It's an energy system that I think is really powerful to like recharge
10:10and sustain and stabilize myself.
10:13So like I want to be steady and have a long life and be calm.
10:18And so I just try to incorporate yoga into that system.
10:21Kriya yoga specifically into that system.
10:23And it's like the most healthiest way to find out that you're really small
10:28and that's okay.
10:30I don't know.
10:30Nevermind yoga.
10:32Thank you, GQ, for listening to my 10 favorite things.
10:38And yeah, bye.
