00:00A typical Mango Street shoot is very DIY. An idea sparked in the morning, a last-minute model call, an outfit quickly pulled.
00:20Our attention is split between directing, styling, shooting photos, and filming behind the scenes.
00:24We usually have about 30 minutes to get the shots and footage before the sun sets.
00:28This time was different, though.
00:30For starters, the shoot took place in Utah.
00:32And we had a team.
00:33A hair stylist.
00:34A makeup artist.
00:35Two local models.
00:36Two assistants.
00:37And two pals to shoot this behind-the-scenes footage you're watching right now.
00:40The catch? We only had 24 hours to fly out and get it done.
00:43So six of us flew out from LA.
00:45We rented a cargo van and extra gear, met up with the models and fed the team, and then drove an hour and 40 minutes west to the Bonneville Salt Flats.
00:53We were a lovely combination.
00:58To a safe I thought no one could break.
