French President Emmanuel Macron announced that France will deliver 100 fully-equipped Rafale fighter jets to Ukraine, significantly boosting Kyiv’s air capabilities amid its ongoing war with Russia. Macron made the announcement during a joint meeting and press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy at the Élysée Palace in Paris. Both leaders highlighted strengthened defence cooperation, Europe’s long-term security commitments, and the urgent need to support Ukraine’s air defence and sovereignty. The major Rafale package marks one of France’s most substantial military pledges since the conflict began.
