Ukraine signs deal with France for 100 Rafale jets and air defence systems

Ukrainian President Zelenskyy signed a landmark deal in Paris on Monday to buy 100 Rafale jets, drones, and air defence systems from France.

00:00Ukraine has signed a deal to buy up to 100 Rafale fighter jets from France.
00:07Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelensky, signed a letter of intent in Paris
00:12alongside his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron.
00:15This agreement is expected to take place over a 10-year period,
00:19according to the Élysée Palace.
00:22With this agreement, we continue to focus on the approach and integration
00:25of our defense industries to continue to support Ukraine,
00:30the modernization of its armed forces that remain in the first line
00:33and which are the first line of defense of Europe,
00:36and the dissuasion against aggression.

00:41Zelensky called the deal historic, and in addition to fighter jets,
