A US State Department spokesperson has said they are "deeply concerned" over China's efforts to target a Taiwanese lawmaker and two Taiwanese social media influencers it accuses of "separatism."

00:00A U.S. State Department spokesperson has said they are deeply concerned about China's targeting of a Taiwanese lawmaker and two Taiwanese influencers.
00:08In a statement to Taiwan Plus, the spokesperson said China's actions threaten free speech and erode norms that have underpinned the cross-strait status quo for decades.
00:17The statement urged China to communicate directly with Taiwan.
00:21It said continued threats will only undermine the peaceful resolution of issues between the two sides.
00:26This comes after China issued wanted notices for two Taiwanese social media influencers and launched an investigation into lawmaker Puma Shen.
00:35Beijing accuses all three of what it calls separatism.
00:39Chinese state media have suggested Beijing could use Interpol to seek a global arrest warrant for Shen.
