00:00...downfield and make plays.
00:02Aaron Glenn said, you know, we've got a guy now that we can win downfield with.
00:05That's good against Gaines.
00:06Gonzalez is one of the top corners in the league.
00:09And I think that ball might have gone through his hands.
00:12Yeah, that's a drop.
00:14That ball was perfectly thrown over the outside shoulder.
00:16Mitchell just not able to bring it in.
00:19So McNamara comes in to punt again.
00:22Fair catch is pulled for.
00:24Made this time at the 15 by Marcus Jones.
00:276-0-7.
00:30The halftime, 14-7, New England.
00:38Time for the Thursday Spotlight presented by Burger King.
00:41We're in New England, so we stop by the iconic Cheers Bar for a look into this Patriots turnaround.
00:47Last year, they were in the bottom half of the league against the run.
00:51This year, New England boasts the NFL's best run defense.
00:54And on offense, nobody scored fewer points than the Pats over the last two seasons.
00:58But in 2025, they've been top ten in scoring.
01:02And a lot of that is thanks to Drake May, whose five straight games with multiple touchdown passes is the longest streak by a Patriots quarterback since Tom Brady.
01:10Now, that's a name everybody knows around here.
01:13Wouldn't you say, guys?
01:14Oh, yeah.
01:15It's bigger than norm.
01:16Yeah, when you talk about Cheers, you're talking about the great Jimmy Burroughs, who directed all of the two shows through the years.
01:24Best sitcom director of all time.
01:28Back to pass.
01:29Five-yard pick up here for Henderson.
01:34So, May right now is 10 for 10 and over 100 yards.
01:39And, you know, one of the things that Josh McDaniel, I think, has brought is clarity and understanding of having answers for Drake May.
01:46You know, he looks like a guy pre-snap that knows where to go with the ball.
01:50He has answers if that first read is not there.
01:52And the other thing is, they're so explosive with his downfield accuracy.
01:56They have 45 plays this year of 20 yards or more.
02:00That's second in the entire NFL.
02:04Right now, he has second and five from the 20-yard line.
02:09And that's a first down to Matt Collins.
02:13He's still right at me.
02:14He looks like a guy who's in his eighth, ninth, tenth year, poised, had a chance.
02:19So, you've known him in the past.
02:22I had a chance to talk to him for the first time the other day.
02:25Articulate, measured.
02:28He's got it all together.
02:29Yeah, he does.
02:30I think he's got a great deal of maturity for being a young guy.
02:33I keep saying he's 23 years old.
02:36But he plays with great poise.
02:38And I think that when you see a quarterback that has calm eyes, it's because he understands where to go with the football.
02:46He feels comfortable and has command of the scheme.
02:48And under control, Henderson.
02:51The other thing that Josh talked to him last night, he told me, he said, you know, we give him a lot at the line of scrimmage.
02:57You know, for a young guy in only his second year.
02:59You know, not just protection.
03:01But, you know, identifying the mic.
03:04You know, are they in one high or two high?
03:05Are they playing us?
03:07If we're an 11 personnel, are they with just one receipt, one tight end and one back?
03:11Are they, you know, with a nickel?
03:13Are they in a base?
03:14Depending on all these different things, he's looking into that defense.
03:16And he's getting this offense into the right play based on the look that he's seeing.
03:25Nice tackle there from behind.
03:28Quincy Williams took care of Henderson.
03:30Stopping it for no gain.
03:31Third down.
03:32And then impressive what Quincy Williams did last week.
03:35They benched him and wanted to see, you know, you've got to pay attention to detail.
03:39You've got to get downhill.
03:40We've got to be able to count on you.
03:42And instead of pouting, you know, not only did he lose his brother, then he gets benched.
03:47Instead of pouting, he responded.
03:49Had one of his best games that he's had all year.
03:51And good to see him out there along with 44 Sherwood flying downhill, making plays tonight.
03:55Good protection.
04:04Fires on the incomplete.
04:07That's Diggs.
04:09And Diggs is hurt.
04:11So Diggs couldn't handle it.
04:12Passes right there.
04:15And now gets up to his feet.
04:17Holy 76 offense.
04:20Pelicans decline.
04:21Fourth down.
04:21John Morgan, Moses, they decline the penalty, and it's fourth down.
04:27I think this will be a story tonight.
04:29Hunter Henry, before he releases to go out, you've got it right across from him.
04:33You've got to chip Will McDonald to slow him down, and then you go out.
04:37You know, you mentioned great protection.
04:39Almost is able to get in there.
04:41That is a tight window, especially instead of settling into the zone.
04:45He's coming across to chase that ball down in front of him.
04:48Backer to send it down to the 13-yard line.
04:55Isaiah Williams flag is thrown.
04:59You can see it up to the 31-yard line, which is where the runback ends.
05:04Get the call here at 319, and Fields is ready to go back to work.
05:07Talked about Will McDonnelly at four sacks last week.
05:20Holding number 35 with the receiving team.
05:23Ten-yard penalty for the end of the kick.
05:25First down, New York.
05:26Timeout.
05:27319 to play in the opening half.
05:3114-7.
05:34New England.
05:35Cheers to you all.
05:36NBA Cup group play continues tomorrow night on Prime as the Heat visit the Knicks.
05:44The Warriors take on the Spurs.
05:46Our coverage starts at 6.30.
05:48East turns on only on the front.
05:54See what the Jets do here.
05:56Haven't done much since that opening drive where they went to 14 plays over 70 yards
06:01and put the touchdown on the board.
06:02Since then, it's been relatively quiet.
06:03Mitchell misses a big throw on that last series to force the punt.
06:07But now that they're pinned back, a little over three minutes to go in the half,
06:12what kind of approach do they have here with Fields in this offense?
06:17Fields, four out of six, but for only 23 yards.
06:21Cole picking and threading his way out past the 10- to the 13-yard line.
06:25Second down, stopped by Corey Durden.
06:29With Terrell Williams, a defensive coordinator, out with health issues,
06:33and we all wish him the very best.
06:36Zach Kerr has stepped in as the inside linebacker coach.
06:39He's calling a defense.
06:40Never has done that.
06:41Never has called a defense in the NFL.
06:43He's got a team right now that's 8-2.
06:45He's really an extension of Terrell Williams and Mike Vrabel and really the entire defensive staff.
06:50If you'd be the first one to tell you that, but as a defense, it's playing very, very aggressively all year.
06:56It's showing that again tonight.
06:57As I said before, first against the run.
07:02Two-yard game here, setting up third and short.
07:05Kaylee?
07:05Guys, Zach Kerr is a natural defensive caller, and that's according to the man those calls go into, Robert Spillane.
07:11So Kerr was Spillane's inside linebacker's coach before he stepped into this role,
07:16and Spillane told me he's been impressed with how well Kerr's transitioned in such unexpected circumstances.
07:21Spillane said Kerr has been ultra-prepared each day, stays calm under pressure,
07:25and knows what he wants his defense to look like.
07:28Yeah, that defense is sixth in points allowed.
07:32Vast improvement last year.
07:34They were at 22nd.
07:35Here, third and two, with two minutes, and they let the clock run down in a two-minute warning.
07:43Two minutes to halftime with the wind wind looking for an eight-straight win of my seven.
07:58Well, all bundled up against the other.
08:01The bad five, yes, the State Farm fifth-time show.
08:05Coming your way.
08:07Guys, cuff it out next week.
08:09We're in the dome.
08:10We're in Houston.
08:12Third down and two.
08:14Two minutes to the half.
08:17Fields throwing, and it's incomplete.
08:21Do it outside of Pinchelina.
08:22Spin around, couldn't hold it in, and the Patriots will get the ball.
08:26They had him.
08:27It's a well-designed play here.
08:30You get man-to-man coverage.
08:32You get a little bit of a rub with the inside receiver, Mitchell, kind of working with Tyler Johnson.
08:38Nice job for a guy that's only been there for a little over a week, and the ball's just thrown to the outside,
08:44where he just can't quite adjust back and make a play on his football.
08:48So the Patriots will get the ball.
08:53Floating kick will be fair caught at the 41-yard line by Jones, and we are back to Gillette Stadium in Foxborough.
09:03The 32nds.
09:09So the Patriots have a chance to go for the old two-for-one here.
09:14Get the ball at the end of the half, and they will get the second-half kickoff.
09:18We're able almost every possession, whether it's the offense coming over or the defense coming over.
09:25Last time he was working with Morgan Moses, the right tackle.
09:29Now he's working with the safeties, and he has done such a good job of changing his culture around.
09:38Made a work from the 41.
09:41You get a whistle.
09:42Gets that 12 guys.
09:43Yep, prior to the snap.
09:45After a dead ball, or a timeout.
09:4912-minute formation on defense.
09:51Five-yard party.
09:53Okay.
09:55Yep, after the change of possession, there it is.
09:59A late adjustment to the personnel grouping.
10:03You can see they're trying to get him off, but the response late, you can see Aaron Glenn down there at the bottom.
10:10Steve Wilts as well.
10:11He already doesn't.
10:15First down and five.
10:18At the 46-yard line.
10:20One-yard pick-up here.
10:30And Henderson doing a lot of the work tonight.
10:3312 carries, 39 yards, two touchdowns.
10:37And all three timeouts.
10:39That's why you run the football after the 12 men on the field to get you to five yards.
10:43They'll start to pick up the urgency after this play right here.
10:49Magrable last week in Tampa.
10:50He did it in the half.
10:51He forked it all the way down to the final few seconds and converted on the fourth down for a touchdown.
10:58May chase the way.
11:00Throws.
11:01And that's incomplete.
11:02Along the sideline there.
11:03Stiggers.
11:04The flag is thrown.
11:07They're going to hold him.
11:13See that?
11:14He wants him to go.
11:14Let's go.
11:15Let's go.
11:16Pick it up.
11:21There's the battle we wanted to watch.
11:22The rookie, Will Campbell, against Will McDonald.
11:26McDonald, you mentioned the four sacks.
11:28Has tremendous get-off and speed upfield in a bend.
11:31And he gets the best of them, gets them to the outside.
11:34And that left arm gets up around the neck, underneath the neck there of McDonald.
11:40And a holding call.
11:42So, the favorable down in distance now behind the sticks.
11:46Second and 14.
11:47That's the Patriots' first penalty of the game.
11:51May stepping up, climbs the pocket.
11:53Pass is low but caught.
11:56And after the 45 goes Henderson.
11:59McDonald put the pressure on that time.
12:02Clock running down.
12:03All those timeouts still remain.
12:0555, 54, and going down.
12:07Third down and seven.
12:08Yeah, I mean, again, they have all three of these timeouts.
12:10Now they're just going to go a little bit of tempo.
12:11See if they can pick this first down up.
12:13And then I think you'll see them really start to use the timeouts
12:17and get into a much more aggressive mode here.
12:19But they want to see if they convert first
12:21before they start using their timeouts.
12:22For sure.
12:24Third and six.
12:25Pressure, look out.
12:29They get him at the 35-yard line.
12:31Quincy Williams.
12:33And another flag is thrown.
12:36The man who was benched last week came out like a rocket.
12:40And they're going to get defensive holding here,
12:41which would be an automatic first down for the Patriots.
12:44So instead of the sack.
12:46So instead of the sack and to get probably the end of the half,
12:53you're going to punt the ball back to the Jets.
12:55So 12 men on the field to start the drive.
12:59Come up with a couple plays.
13:00Looks like you're going to get the Patriots off the field.
13:03And then Brandon Stephens locks up with Matt Collins.
13:08So the ball's at midfield.
13:10And a new set of downs.
13:12And all three timeouts still.
13:15Bought the 50.
13:19May.
13:20Hangs in the pocket.
13:22Deep down field.
13:23And it is almost picked.
13:26And incomplete.
13:28Stiggers is back there.
13:30You had Tony Adams back there.
13:31And a pass intended for the rookie Kyle Williams,
13:35who had one last week.
13:37First touchdown of his career on a 72-yard reception.
13:41And now he puts so much air onto this.
13:43He's a bit late.
13:44See how much air he put on it.
13:45Gives Adams a chance to come over.
13:47All the way over from outside of the hash.
13:50To come over and almost come up with an interception.
13:53Ball floated and kind of hung up in the air.
13:55And 22 comes over and came close to the interception.
14:00Quantes Stiggers injured on the play.
14:03So an injury timeout with 20 ticks to go.
14:05So Quantes Stiggers will come off the field.
14:13They'll take him back to the locker room with 20 seconds remaining.
14:17And it will be a second and 10 from the 50-yard line.
14:23Joshua Taylor recently picked up from the Chargers.
14:27He's down with the game.
14:28That's it.
14:28That secondary is depleted.
14:30We saw Skarner being traded.
14:31Michael Carter being traded.
14:33Thomas down with an injury.
14:35May.
14:40Sucks it down.
14:42To the 39 goes Henderson.
14:44Not going to timeout.
14:46With 13 seconds.
14:49The Jets almost had an interception.
14:51You know how many interceptions?
14:53Not you.
14:54The audience.
14:54The Jets have had this season.
14:58Who's had?
14:59None.
14:59You know how many takeaways they've had all year?
15:02One.
15:02And where'd they have it?
15:03In London.
15:04So they have no domestic takeaways.
15:06My God.
15:07Only an international takeaway.
15:10That's hard to do if you think about it.
15:12One?
15:12One takeaway?
15:14Nine games.
15:15Nine and a half.
15:15The newest in NFL history.
15:17Nine and a half games.
15:19And especially with the pass rush that they had led by Will McDonald.
15:23You know Jermaine Johnson.
15:25Usually with pass rushers like that.
15:27You're going to force a quarterback to throw it before he wants to.
15:30Or put it into some traffic.
15:32But you know it's not just a big part of why they've not been able to style football they want to play.
15:37Is defense special teams and turnover margin.
15:40He's not able to get that going.
15:4213 seconds.
15:44Giggs.
15:45He takes that three.
15:46First down.
15:49Again a 13.
15:50No women field goal range right now.
15:52And time to get another playoff.
15:54Now a game of inches.
15:55Brandon Stevens who's a physical corner tries to jam.
15:59Diggs.
15:59Watch him with the right arm.
16:01Misses him.
16:02So right at the line of scrimmage he's beaten.
16:04You know he took a chance.
16:05Rolled the dice.
16:06Knew that they wanted a quick throw.
16:08So he tried to get hands on him.
16:10Misses him.
16:11And it freed up Diggs to be able to work to the inside there.
16:14To be able to get that first down.
16:16And now they've got yardage that they needed to be able to get the appeal goal if they end up missing a shot to the end zone.
16:24Their big playability.
16:26And they got nine seconds.
16:27They got a timeout left.
16:29They're still thinking about trying to take a shot.
16:33See if they can get it into the end zone.
16:35Instead they're just going to move it a little bit closer.
16:49As Henderson is stopped there by Williams.
16:52Three seconds.
16:54In comes the field goal group.
16:57They're trying to make it 17-7 at the half and again.
17:00The Patriots will get the ball to start the third quarter.
17:05And Brable probably thinking about the long play there.
17:08Get the three here.
17:10I thought they might take a shot, you know, at the end zone.
17:14But you get the three here.
17:15You get the ball back.
17:16And then you're trying to, you know, come up with points again.
17:20So it makes some sense.
17:23Andy Barragalas picking the sixth round.
17:26Rookie out of Miami.
17:29And a 52-yard game winner against Buffalo.
17:33And they went into Orchard Park and knocked off the Billings.
17:39And a timeout taken here by New York.
17:43What do you think of the unis out there?
17:44I like them a lot.
17:45I'm a big fan.
17:46You know?
17:46Yeah.
17:47They look great.
17:48What do they call them?
17:49The Nor'easters?
17:50The rivalry uniforms or whatever it's called?
17:53Whatever they're called.
17:54Yeah.
17:54These are good, though.
17:57These are the clean and simple, you know, sometimes we'll see uniforms where you can't see the numbers.
18:04Yeah.
18:04Right?
18:05That's not fun.
18:06No, it's not.
18:08Especially for you.
18:09It's called marketing.
18:10Yeah.
18:10Yeah, exactly.
18:11Going on everywhere.
18:1245-yard field goal attack.
18:20Oregonis.
18:21His kick is no good.
18:24So, they stave off.
18:30It would have been a 10-point deficit.
18:33Remains 14-7 at the half.
18:35And we go to Kaylee.
18:37Your offense looked invincible early, and then it slowed down.
18:40How do you get them back on track?
18:41Well, they pressured us a little bit, like we expected.
18:45You know, we'll have to pick up the pressure, and then hopefully hit a couple plays here.
18:48Defense settled down, too.
18:49After that Jets' first drive, though, you held them without a first down.
18:55How did you keep them so quiet?
18:56Well, I think we just were able to settle in here a little bit and take care of the quarterback.
19:01He hurt us a little bit on the first drive.
19:02Thanks, Mike.
19:03Thanks.
19:04Well, thank you, Kenny.
19:05Thank you, Mike.
19:06Coming up after the break with the score of 14-7, New England, it is the State Farm Halcombe Show.
19:13Come on.
19:19We'll be right back.
19:49Here's Henderson.
19:51The outside.
19:52Cutting through and going all the way to the end zone is Trevion Henderson.
19:59Halftime.
20:00Third quarter about to begin.
20:0214-7.
20:04The women on top seeking the eighth consecutive victory.
20:09Each team open with a long drive.
20:1213 plays for the Jets.
20:1414 for New England.
20:18As each team with that long drive.
20:21First time in seven years.
20:22Third Patriots rookie.
20:24Henderson with two straight TD games.
20:27Curtis Martin and Sonny Michel would be the others.
20:29And a look at the numbers.
20:32So, May is 14 of 16 for 140.
20:35Talked about fields.
20:37How many games he's had with less than 60 passing yards.
20:41Yeah, four.
20:41And we're on the pace for that tonight.
20:43Sure are.
20:43Opening drive.
20:45They went 14 plays, 72 yards.
20:47Converted four third downs.
20:49There were four for four.
20:50Since that opening drive, three drives.
20:53All three.
20:55Three and outs.
20:55So, they put a great script together.
21:00And since that script has been put away after that opening drive,
21:03they've just not been able to put anything together.
21:07McNamara.
21:10Chisholm from the 11-yard line.
21:15And out at about the 35 moments ago.
21:18Kaylee down on the field with Aaron Glenn.
21:22Well, Aaron, how do you get your offense back into that rhythm
21:24we saw in that opening drive?
21:26Well, the thing is, there were some open passes that we had
21:30that we dropped.
21:32I mean, Justin Pitt won on a deep ball that we got to end up catching.
21:34And we just got to keep on grinding.
21:36That's about it.
21:36Listen, it is.
21:38We're down by seven.
21:39Going to the second half.
21:40We haven't even played our best.
21:41So, now we're going to turn it up, play our best,
21:43and we'll be just fine.
21:44Your defense is heading back onto the field.
21:46What are your priorities on that side of the ball?
21:48Got to get a stop.
21:49Period.
21:49Got to get a stop.
21:50Put the offense back on the field.
21:51Let's go tie this game up.
21:52Okay.
21:53All right, let's see if they get a stop on this first series here.
21:56Stephon Diggs makes the catch on the outside.
21:59Gain a three, second and seven.
22:00What's great about this offense, if you're watching it for the first time,
22:05is how balanced they are.
22:06You know, they have an ability to,
22:09if you're going to take away the run, they're going to throw.
22:11If you're going to sit back, they're going to run.
22:14He mixes up shotgun with under center.
22:16They've had 15 snaps under center.
22:18They've had 18 in the gun.
22:20It's just a lot of different looks.
22:23And you've got a quarterback that, I think, has an idea of where the ball needs to go.
22:27And they run the ball 16 times, thrown it now 18 times with that there intended for Kyle Williams.
22:34Incomplete third down and seven.
22:36They have a lot of speed.
22:38You know, you think of Pop Douglas, Stephon Diggs, Booty, who's not playing tonight.
22:42And then the rookie, Kyle Williams, had the big touchdown last week, 72-yarder.
22:46But it was more of a catch and a run.
22:48Here they're trying to hit him one-on-one against Stevens on a fade.
22:52Just not able to get separation.
22:56Big opportunity here for the Jets defense.
22:58They'll start down.
22:59They're going to bring some heat.
23:00They're going to be stopped short of the first down.
23:13So the ball a little shy of the 44-yard line.
23:17Fourth and one.
23:17They're going to come up to the line in a hurry.
23:19They're bringing the big boys in.
23:21Ben Brown's coming in.
23:22Tonga's coming in.
23:24Now they back off.
23:26A little huddle.
23:27They've not thrown the ball to Tonga or let him run the football.
23:31He's just been in there and there's a fullback to block.
23:35Oh, they waved it off incomplete.
23:37I think they're going to pick it up, bring it back.
23:45And a look.
23:46Replay assist.
23:49That ball moved.
23:50Terry McAuley, our man, agrees with that.
23:54So that'll bring it back to a fourth and seven.
23:56Great look at it, Darren.
23:57Yeah.
23:58So the Jets do their job.
23:59They get a three and out.
23:59This is the game clock.
24:00The 14-17.
24:0214-17 on the game clock.
24:04Well, Aaron Glenn just told Kaley, got to get a stop.
24:07And they do right off the bat.
24:14Bounder with punt.
24:16Isaiah Williams.
24:19Ran one back for a score last week.
24:22Fields at the 14.
24:26Nice run back.
24:27Back out to the 33.
24:29And from there will Fields and the Jets start their first drive of the second half.
24:35Like we said, that opening drive, they mixed in Brees Hall.
24:39Fields was running the football a lot.
24:40And one thing about Brees Hall, I think he's one of the more underrated backs in the NFL.
24:45Last week really showed what he could do catching the ball.
24:48We knew that about his game.
24:50He's such a patient runner.
24:52And he's thick.
24:53Strong lower half.
24:54I mean, he's able to run through a lot of arm tackles.
24:57He's healthy finally, which is great to see this year.
25:00And the big part of this offense, we knew the matchup of the Jets running game against the number one rush defense would go a long way in determining who's going to win this game.
25:10And after that opening drive, the Patriots made adjustments and shut them down.
25:14Three-man bunch on the left side.
25:18Gain of seven here.
25:20You saw that 42 receiving yards for Hall last week.
25:23That came on one screen pass.
25:24That's one.
25:25Touchdown.
25:26Been able to really get him involved right now in the passing game.
25:32A little tempo here.
25:34No huddle.
25:35Second down.
25:35Three.
25:39Give it to Hall again.
25:40Touch to the outside.
25:42And should have enough to forward progress for the first down when they spot it.
25:46Tackled there by Barmore.
25:47And we just talked about him when they came back out on the field for their first series.
25:52And here he is.
25:52These first couple plays getting a chance.
25:54I personally, if you're Tanner Inkscrant, you've got to think about going back to what worked in that opening drive,
26:01which was some handoffs to Hall and then some zone read.
26:05And some quarterback, you know, they ran a speed option.
26:08They ran some zone read.
26:09Fields got out on some scrambles.
26:11His legs were obviously a big factor on that opening series.
26:16There you go.
26:17There he goes again.
26:19Room to room.
26:20Picks up the first down before he's knocked out of bounds.
26:24That time, easier read for him.
26:27Barmore, who's right here.
26:28He's going to collapse down.
26:29When he collapses down, Fields' eyes are on him.
26:32Sees him down.
26:33Down to the back.
26:34Pull it.
26:35Get a block there by 85.
26:37Mason Taylor, the rookie out of LSU.
26:38And that's right on cue.
26:40Talking about Brees Hall running, setting up zone read with Justin Fields.
26:45And this is what that opening drive looked like.
26:47Then you can mix in some play action.
26:49You get their eyes on seven.
26:51Make them worry about his legs.
26:53And that's when you can get your pass game going.
26:55Fields, six carries with 39 yards.
26:59You've got man coverage.
27:00That's the adjustment they're making here.
27:02Rolling, moving, and throws in complete ground, of course, wants grounding.
27:11Meanwhile, you've got...
27:13I think they'll get him for grounding here.
27:14There's no one near him.
27:17They're going to bring that flag out.
27:25Now, when that call in the game...
27:27...set for grounding, number seven offense.
27:29There's no receivers in the area in the pass.
27:32Quarterback is still in the pocket.
27:33Lost it down.
27:36Second down.
27:37Pressure put on by Kittleman.
27:39Chasing.
27:40Why you like to see what he's trying to do here.
27:43You know, he wants to get rid of the football.
27:46There's just nobody around.
27:49You know, Taylor's off to the left.
27:50You can throw it out there at his feet.
27:52If you're just trying to get rid of it, jump and throw it as far as you can off to the left
27:57towards your tight end.
27:58But there's nobody within 20 yards there in the middle of the field.
28:06So, Bray will get set.
28:08Cole.
28:09Fields now.
28:14Let's bring Terry in real quick.
28:18Well, yeah.
28:18Terry, was he outside of the pocket there?
28:20He absolutely gets outside the pocket.
28:22We showed it with our little dashes.
28:25And generally, when he's on the edge, they put him out.
28:28Okay.
28:28So, they really should have put him out.
28:29So, right there.
28:30Not intentional grounding here.
28:32Okay.
28:32From the 44-yard line.
28:34Second down and 20.
28:37And Hall.
28:38Sets up.
28:39It will be a third and a long 16.
28:41Third and 16.
28:44He was right on the line.
28:45And then by the time he threw it, he was back inside.
28:48But Terry brings up a good point.
28:50If you're going to say when you're right there, kind of in that gray area, you give him the
28:54benefit of the doubt.
28:55But because of that, he gave him way behind the sticks.
29:00And now it's third and forever.
29:03Third tackle at 15.
29:06Ball at the 49-yard line.
29:16Fields.
29:17Dumps it down.
29:19Inside Patriot territory.
29:21Isaiah Williams.
29:23To the 48 tackle there by Christian.
29:25Gonzalez now we have another flag.
29:28Down at the 43.
29:30That might have been a late push by the Jets.
29:33By Joe Tippman.
29:3666.
29:39After the play was over.
29:41Personal foul.
29:41Unnecessary roughness number 66 to the offense.
29:44There you go.
29:4415-yard county at the end of the play.
29:47The down counts.
29:48It's fourth down.
29:50And he's just trying to make a hustle play.
29:52And he ends up, after the whistle, hitting 21.
29:55Jalen Hawkins.
29:57We'll see 66.
29:58We'll see 21 kind of standing there.
30:00And now he's on his back.
30:01And that's well after the whistle.
30:03So, a couple blunders by the Jets.
30:06Had great field position.
30:07Had an opportunity with the way that drive started.
30:10With a couple of briefs all runs.
30:12His own read.
30:13Get him up near midfield.
30:14Cross midfield.
30:15And now they're way back at their own 36-yard line on this punt.
30:19And McNamara comes in.
30:20This will be his fourth punt of the game.
30:22Averaging 43 yards per boot.
30:25Marcus Jones.
30:30Standing back at his 15-yard line.
30:37Bring in the kicking ball.
30:38And McNamara sends it down for a joke.
30:49It's a very short kick.
30:51Jones calls for and makes the fair catch at the 31-yard line.
30:56So, 11-16 remaining in the state capitol up in Boston.
31:03On this Thursday night, 14-7.
31:09Trying to get to 9-2.
31:11Trying to make it 8-straight.
31:13Start this drive from the 31-yard line.
31:16May.
31:1715-19 to this point.
31:20Now he's 16-20.
31:22Leap can catch me by Max Mullins for a first down.
31:26The demonstrable one.
31:29Hunter Henry underneath occupies the linebacker.
31:33And it gives him a window to be able to go up and over Hunter Henry.
31:38And what a job.
31:39Remember, Matt Mullins is 6-4.
31:42See right here.
31:43Watch Hunter Henry kind of eat up that safety.
31:46And that frees up for him to be able to go up and over.
31:49But, man, 6-4 and climb the ladder to make that catch.
31:51Four catches 64 yards for the ex-tar heel.
31:56In the league now for nine seasons.
31:58Gained a two here.
32:00Second down and eight.
32:01Big collision that time.
32:03That was Quincy Williams getting downhill and thumping Trevion Henderson.
32:08As linebackers, it's kind of part of what you'd expect from an Aaron Glenn defense.
32:12Steve Wilkes.
32:12Linebackers getting downhill, trying to take away this offense's ability to run the football.
32:19The problem is you're vulnerable to play action, as we saw that throw to Matt Mullins.
32:23He feels the pressure.
32:35Hits the open man.
32:37It's Diggs inside the 30.
32:39Another big gainer for a first-down tackle there by Tony Adams.
32:43Pickup of 22.
32:44It's incredible the poise that he has here.
32:48Because you're going to get pressure from both of the ends.
32:52He steps up cleanly.
32:54And it's not just that he steps up.
32:55Watch how he's just like a flat liner.
32:59He steps up.
33:00He keeps his eyes downfield.
33:02Here's the rookie, Will Campbell, going up against a really good pass rusher.
33:06Pushes him up and away to allow the big quarterback to be able to step up.
33:12And there's a great throw once again at intermediate level.
33:17Rolling right.
33:20And the throw caught by Pinks inside the 20 to the 10-yard line.
33:29Great improvisation.
33:31You better get used to it.
33:33Not only in the AFC East, but all around the league.
33:35This guy is a tremendous athlete.
33:38Instead of giving up on the play, it looks like a Josh Allen move.
33:41Or a Patrick Mahomes move.
33:43Where he runs almost out of bounds.
33:45And then the defense reacts to him.
33:47And then he's got the poise again to be able to find an open receiver who makes the throw to Diggs.
33:55MVP chant.
33:57He's heard a few already this season.
34:00Probably more to come.
34:03From the 11th.
34:05Back to Henderson.
34:08To the 6-yard line.
34:09He goes into the 5.
34:12What's great about this group is it may get so much attention, but I just think it's the entire operation that Josh McDaniels has.
34:23Keep in mind, two rookies on that left side, Jared Wilson and Will Campbell.
34:27But the way these receivers block, and I'm talking Stephon Diggs, Mack Hollins, Booty when he's out here, Kyle Williams, Pop Douglas, the tight ends, Hunter Henry, that time in motion with a good track block.
34:40Second and five.
34:41Second and five.
34:43Pump fake.
34:44Throws open court.
34:45Touchdown.
34:47The hat trick for Henderson.
34:48Three and a half minutes to go 69 in six plays.
35:02They had a bust on the back end, and Drake May, what a try for him and his offense.
35:09And a lot of these plays were like this.
35:12Two defenders take Diggs and it leaves a wide open Trevion Henderson out of the backfield.
35:17And look at him.
35:18He wants to go to Diggs, and then he comes off of him and eventually finds Henderson who leaks out of the backfield.
35:24Really good job and not forcing that into his, probably his primary, Stephon Diggs, but seeing two defenders on him, he just remained calm, let it develop, made an accurate throw with a good decision.
35:38And he barely got us for the extra points.
35:40And that's six touchdowns this season for Henderson.
35:43Five in the last two games.
35:4521-7.
35:46The 555th and final episode, Monday Night Football.
36:00There's something special about this.
36:03Little did I know what it is.
36:05Throws over the middle, and that one is caught by Rabel.
36:09Rabel has caught both touchdown and passes tonight.
36:12Yep, 2005, that was the final Monday Night game on ABC, before it went over to ESPN, and now it's on ABC on ESPN.
36:25So we've come full, full circle.
36:27How about that?
36:28The last one, and you're out there calling it with Fridge getting a couple touchdowns.
36:34Anyway, John Madden.
36:35John Madden.
36:36Part of the group.
36:37This kickoff will go into the end zone, and touchback to the 35.
36:43What were your thoughts about that at that time?
36:46You know, just that being the last one.
36:48Yeah, it was the end of an era.
36:50It was Monday Night would continue on, but different.
36:53John was going to NBC, and Fred Goodelley and Drew Esikoff are going to NBC.
36:58They dragged me along, I can tell you.
37:00But, you know, how about Mike Rabel scoring a touchdown?
37:03Yeah, so Mike was a linebacker, as anybody who follows football knew.
37:0913 touchdowns in his career.
37:12Great athlete.
37:13Right.
37:13He 11, he caught 10 during the regular season, 2 in postseason in the Super Bowl, and 1 pick 6.
37:21Yeah.
37:21Just for good measure.
37:2213 TDs.
37:27Meanwhile, his team up by 14 now.
37:32And Fields throws it up to the 42-yard line, which is caught by Mason Taylor.
37:36Kyrus Tunga has got to maybe pull out some of those highlights of Rabel and say,
37:41hey, man, I'm happy to block, but you scored a couple touchdowns.
37:45You mind throwing me the ball once in a while?
37:47Yeah, we talked to Rabel about that on the Zoom the other day.
37:51If you just smiled.
37:52Said it might be coming.
37:54It could be.
37:55Throw him a ball.
38:00Second down, 3.
38:03From the 42.
38:09Over the middle.
38:10Caught.
38:10Once again, it's a tight end this time.
38:14It is Ruckert and a first down.
38:16Jets not really equipped with the offensive line, with Justin Fields and with the receivers
38:21to get down 14 and get into obvious passing situations.
38:26They're going to throw the football.
38:27They're going to have to continue to mix in Brees Hall and not just be all one-dimensional.
38:33Fields will take it himself.
38:35Get wrapped up just outside the 40 by Craig Woodson, the rookie out of California.
38:40with that draft pick.
38:42That's where Fields is really, really comfortable.
38:46He's got seven carries now in the game.
38:48I thought he might carry it around 10 times between design runs and quarterback scrambles
38:54where he gets out and creates.
39:01Second to four.
39:02Six minutes remaining in the third.
39:10To the outside goes this pass.
39:12This is John Mechie.
39:14Came over in a deal with Philadelphia.
39:18Started his career in Houston.
39:20To get that run game going.
39:21You know, the outside goes now, you probably won't be in the fifth.
39:42Just a little bit higher about the bedroom.
39:42Grab it.
39:43It's good.
39:44So he's got an Q and Z.
39:45He's going over to the next.
39:47A lot of things that I saw here in the time.
