In today’s report, Rick Sanchez reacts to the explosive new corruption scandal shaking Ukraine — a scandal involving President Volodymyr Zelensky’s longtime business partner, Timur Mindich, who allegedly fled the country just hours before a major raid.

With reports that the FBI is now investigating Mindich’s role in a $100 million energy-sector scheme, the political fallout is growing fast. Analysts warn the probe could become a “time bomb” for Zelensky himself, raising serious questions about U.S. support, the future of the war effort, and Washington’s next steps.

Rick breaks down what this developing scandal means for Kyiv, why American intelligence may be getting involved, and how this investigation could reshape the narrative in both Ukraine and the United States.

00:00Okay, let's talk about Ukraine now.
00:01There have been a lot of signs along the way,
00:04and I think you probably have picked up some of these signs yourself,
00:07that the Trump administration is souring, right?
00:10They're getting tired, if not just downright fed up with Volodymyr Zelensky.
00:15We've seen that at the White House, in meetings they had.
00:19You know what I really saw, though?
00:20When it made even, when it seemed like, to me anyway,
00:25like it was really obvious, this weekend, this weekend,
00:29by this moment, where Mr. Trump infuses or pushes
00:35Prime Minister Viktor Orban, it seemed, to say this.
00:41So the only pro-peace government is the United States government
00:45and the small Hungary in Europe, anyway.
00:47All the other governments prefer to continue the war
00:49because many of them think that Ukraine can win on the front line,
00:55which is a misunderstanding of the situation.
00:57So it's a complicated issue.
00:59We will discuss its request, not just two minutes to respond to your question,
01:03but rather than our lecture.
01:04Sorry, not to continue more.
01:06To both of you, to both of you.
01:08So you would say that Ukraine cannot win that war?
01:13You know, a miracle can happen.
01:15Yeah, that's right.
01:17So do you get the feeling that Trump was asking him a question that Trump already knew the answer to?
01:24And do you get the feeling that Trump felt like he wanted Orban to say it
01:28because he wasn't comfortable saying itself?
01:30And do you get the feeling that Trump knows that those reporters in the White House
01:34are too stupid or too cowardly to ask that question,
01:39so he did it himself?
01:41Because it seemed obvious to me.
01:43But now there's another one that makes me, another situation that makes me kind of scratch my head,
01:51maybe others as well, and ask this.
01:54Why is the FBI investigating the Ukrainian government for corruption, right?
02:02Now, I know why they should do it, right?
02:05I know why they should do it.
02:06It's because some $300 billion of U.S. taxpayer resources have been sent to Zelensky.
02:13And me, as one of those taxpayers, hell, I'd love to know,
02:17what the hell did they do with all that money?
02:19Somebody sticking it in their pocket over there?
02:22Still, you've got to ask this question.
02:25Why is the United States investigating a supposed ally?
02:29Ukraine's an ally of the United States.
02:31Why is the FBI investigating corruption in Ukraine, right?
02:35Well, that appears to be what's going on.
02:39And here's the story.
02:40Let me share it with you.
02:41So there's the headline.
02:44There is Timir Mindich.
02:46He's a longtime ally, the guy with the yellow circle around his head.
02:50He's a longtime ally of Ukrainian strongman Volodymyr Zelensky.
02:53He fled the country.
02:55He just left.
02:57He's disappeared.
02:58And he did so while being investigated.
03:01And according to the reporting by Ukrinskaya,
03:04this is one of the sources there, Pravda, Ukrinskaya Pravda,
03:08he did so after somebody in the government called him and tipped him off and said,
03:14hey, your home is about to be raided.
03:15You better get the hell out, which he did.
03:17That in and of itself proves that there's some level of corruption, right?
03:20When somebody can tell you what the government is doing before anybody else knows.
03:25By the way, here's what's important.
03:26So this investigation is being conducted by NABU.
03:30That's the well-known Ukraine National Anti-Corruption Bureau.
03:33And it's reportedly part of a much wider investigation,
03:37also conducted jointly by the FBI.
03:42Look, I don't know.
03:44I don't know.
03:45But it sounds to me like somebody in Washington
03:48is creating a justification for possible future actions.
03:53It's like maybe an excuse to get rid of Zelensky.
03:56I don't know.
03:57I mean, I don't know.
03:58I don't know.
03:58I don't know what those actions could be in full clarity.
04:04But as we witness what is appearing to be happening right now in Ukraine,
04:09which is obviously the worst of times right now for the Ukraine military,
04:12everybody's reporting that,
04:13as well as the worst of times right now probably for Mr. Zelensky himself.
04:17You tell me.
04:18But consider this.
04:21Consider this well-known comedic expression.
04:25You'll know this if you're American,
04:27and if not, you'll still find it interesting.
04:29It was made famous by a famous American singer in Motown.
04:33His name was Marvin Gaye.
04:35It was also made famous by comedian Bill Cosby on his show.
04:38And it goes like this.
04:40I brought you in this world, and I'll take you out.
04:42I brought you in this world, and I'll take you out.
04:50Referring to a parent yelling at their kids.
04:54Now think of those words in relation to Zelensky.
04:56Who put Zelensky in power?
05:00And who might now just decide to take him out?
