Thousands of runners from across the globe took part in Cuba’s 39th Marabana Marathon on Sunday, racing through the streets of Havana despite health challenges affecting the country. The marathon route included iconic landmarks like the Malecón seafront and Revolution Square, offering a unique blend of sport and Cuban culture.

“Running in Havana is a pleasure…sharing this time with everyone here from Cuba and beyond," said Ben from US.

Daniela Blanco - from Cuba - also stated: “Completing the race is a total success given the country’s challenges.”

Races included 10K, 21K, and 42K, attracting nearly 2,900 participants from Germany, the US, Mexico, Colombia, and Spain.
