00:00Hello and welcome to this Queensland Janesweather update for Monday.

00:04All of the wet weather from Friday and across the weekend is now retreating northwards as the day goes on

00:09and we are starting a sunny stretch.

00:11So the only heatwave pattern we've got today is up and through here.

00:14We'll definitely see that come back later on in the week, particularly for inland parts.

00:18Let's have a look day by day.

00:19Today, contracting northwards, this has already gone from the southeastern parts, it is all sunshine now.

00:25So let's watch that day by day.

00:26There's Monday, Tuesday, all the way up and through here.

00:30Wednesday, just a tiny bit of coastal activity, now into Thursday.

00:33OK, so by Thursday, our next trough is developing in through here.

00:37We've got a little bit of onshore moisture.

00:39We've got the action up in the north.

00:40So all of that is going to come together, plus some cold air energy from the south.

00:44We don't get the cold air, we get the energy part of it.

00:47It's going to kick off our next round of showers and thunderstorms.

00:49This one is mainly for southeast Queensland and eastern parts of New South Wales.

00:53So it starts on Thursday.

00:55Friday here, it's just in that corner down through there into Saturday,

00:58again in that corner.

01:00Bit of action happening up in through here, the potential of something tropical.

01:04So we'll have an eye on that one to see where that goes, how severe it might be,

01:08but also the moisture that it pushes in, where that's going to actually push that through to.

01:12So here's by Saturday into Sunday, all of this activity in through here and into next Monday,

01:17starting to clear away as this comes in.

01:20So keep your eye on this one, but for the moment, it's just later Thursdays through to the end of the weekend

01:24is our next burst of showers and thunderstorms.

01:27What might that add up to?

01:28If you're inland anywhere and through here, not a lot at all.

01:31In the southeast corner, that's pretty much what it is, mainly about the ranges.

01:35We'll see that.

01:36If you get a thunderstorm, yes, it will bring a heavier fall.

01:38But otherwise, there's the action up in the north.

01:40We're fairly quiet, at least for the next couple of days.

01:43So in Brisbane, let's have a look at what's happening here.

01:45We've got the heat today, but by the afternoon, the dew point down to 10 degrees.

01:50How much moisture is in the air?

01:51We've got a southwesterly that is breezy.

01:53That tells us that a cool change is coming through.

01:56So overnight tomorrow, down to 17, and then we've got milder conditions,

02:00meaning the high 20s for the next couple of days.

02:02That warms up again, as the overnight temperatures do as well.

02:06We'll start to kick off that shower and thunderstorm activity Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

02:11Now, most likely not near the coast, more of a ranges thing,

02:14or the western parts of Brisbane,

02:16but something to keep an eye on as we go into next weekend.
