00:00Congratulations on your book. Thank you. So excited for you. So much. We went live yesterday,
00:07official release. So excited. So exciting. What was this process like for you? Was it therapeutic?
00:13Was it, you know, tell me everything. I wrote this book one therapy session at a time. Every
00:19time I finished therapy, I just started writing my draft, my notes, everything that went on.
00:23So much revelation, so much full circle moments, so much on how things that happen on the show
00:28related to my childhood trauma. And it's so crazy because you think it's just a stupid show, right?
00:33But then it's like, but what happened in this scene? And how did it make you feel? And how did it
00:36make you react? Everything is interconnected, man. And so it was really interesting to write. And he
00:43was also very much part of it, editing with me, helping me remember stuff. And he wrote the
00:47foreword. I love that so much. I love that. What was the toughest part for you to write in this book?
00:52With the book? I mean, there's a chapter, chapter nine, where he talks about my brother
00:55and his two daughters who we lost in the earthquake in Haiti. And so that I have such
01:00selective memory. He told me, he's like, Gertie, you're missing the entire part of what happened
01:05when this happened. And I'm like, I don't remember it happening. And my therapist is like, that's
01:10because you're not wanting to remember. So it's very interesting. And so this book is not a cancer
01:14book. It's not a, you know, a trauma book about like, you want to see how sad life can be.
01:19It takes you through the wavelengths of emotions through things. And then it's like, this is what
01:23happened. And then I still kept going. And then this is what happened. And then this is what I did
01:27to keep it going. So you're going to see a girl that you're not going to, people say this is like
01:31a movie, like that she'd make this into a movie. That's how you're going to be like, what? What?
01:36Yeah, it's intense.
01:37I know there are some moments of the show in there. We got some water throwing. We got maybe some,
01:42some things about Larsa. What were kind of their reactions to it?
01:46To what?
01:47To the book?
01:47To the book. Yeah.
01:49Oh, I mean, I don't know. This is a book for me. This is my reaction. This is my feelings. This is
01:53my, you know, perspective. No one, no one can take that away from me, right? You can say your version
01:57of whatever you think you want to do. And that's literally what it is. You know, I took the let
02:01them theory and then I'd spin it and then I tossed it upside down and I said, no, let them, but then
02:06also let me. So I created my own theory in here, which is called the let me theory. And it's a counter
02:11ish to Mel Robbins is where I do appreciate that perspective. So that's, that's the addition to the let
02:17them theory, which is the let me to do what I got to do.
