01:02A wanted drug baron who operates under the cover of a businessman and hotelier, Frank Chigiokibamesi, alias Chiscovi, has been arrested by operatives of a special operations unit of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, after weeks of intelligence and surveillance on his criminal activities.
01:22The 42-year-old Ibermessi, who is the MD, CEO of Frank C.J. Ibermessi, Nigeria Limited, was arrested at his Daisy Garden Hotel, 66-68 Igbeke Street, Agopalasway, a solo Lagos in the early hours of Saturday, 15 November 2025,
01:42after which he was taken to his warehouse at 7 Pias Azeobi Street off Ago Placeway, a solo where 42 jumbo bags and 4 cartoons of Loud, a strain of cannabis weighing 1,762.8 kilograms were recovered.

04:53at Aliyu Mustafa International Airport Yola, while 785 kilograms of skunk was evacuated from the warehouse of a drug dealer currently at large at Asab Marabakaru, Nasarawa State.
05:05Two suspects, Jamiu Kunle Kadaso and Oriyomi Waliu were on Friday 14 November arrested with 130 pouches of Canadian loud weighing 65.150 kilograms in Surilere Area of Lagos,
05:22just as Taufik Morena was nabbed same day with 282 blocks of gun allowed with a gross weight of 141 kilograms at Oto, Oingbo Area of Lagos.
05:33In Quarra State, NDLEA operatives on Thursday 13 November intercepted a truck marked T0262KT along Aloran,
05:44Jeber Expressway conveying 197 blocks of skunk weighing 78.565 kilograms and 155 cartons of rubber solutions.
05:54The truck driver Umar Yakubu was taken into custody.
05:59In another operation, a commercial bus with registration number KJA657CY was intercepted at Iyinkomran,
06:07Aloran on Wednesday 12 November with 20 blocks of skunk concealed in a 50-litre jerry can recovered and the driver Ibrahim Bello arrested.
06:16In like manner, commands and formations of the agency across the country continued their war against drug abuse,
06:23WADA, sensitization activities in schools, worship centers, workplaces and communities among others in the past week.

10:19NAV's 73-year-old grandpa, 70-year-old grandma in Edo, Bielsa. A wanted drug lord,
10:2740-year-old Yusuf Abayami Aziz has been arrested by operatives of a special operations unit of the
10:33National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, at the Matala Muhammad International Airport,
10:40MMIA, Akeja Lagos while on his way to Saudi Arabia for Umrah, a holy pilgrimage, after months
10:46of intelligence and surveillance on him and his criminal drug activities. The drug kingpin had been
10:52arrested and charged for drug offences in the United Kingdom but jumped bail and escaped to Nigeria.
10:59Soon after settling down in Lagos, he set up a massive clandestine laboratory in the Leki area
11:05of the state for the production of Colorado, a deadly synthetic cannabis and other illicit substances.
11:11At about 6.30 am on Thursday 6 November 2025, Yusuf walked into the waiting hands of NDLEA
11:19operatives at the Lagos airport while attempting to board his flight to Saudi Arabia for Umrah.
11:26He was swiftly driven to his 17 Vincent Eku Street, a Gombo, Leki, clandestine laboratory which has been
11:33under surveillance for a while. At the time of his arrest, Yusuf was found in company of another
11:39suspect, 43-year-old Abaydin Kakarayekan. Inside the massive building, operatives from the agency's
11:46directorate of forensic and chemical monitoring were able to dismantle all installed laboratory equipment,
11:53precursor chemicals and already produced illicit substances including Colorado, all weighing 148.3
12:00kilograms. At the Seafax bonded terminal in Okota, Lagos, NDLEA operatives in conjunction with men of
12:08customs service and other security agencies on Friday 7 November discovered 105.5 kilograms molly,
12:17a designer's drug and 500 grams of methamphetamine during a joint examination of a shipment.
12:23In Niger state, NDLEA operatives on Thursday 6 November intercepted Ibrahim Mohamed,
12:3035, in a Volvo truck marked GRZ872XA along Kainjiwawa road while conveying 87,000 pills of tramadol and 72
12:41kilograms of skunk, a strain of cannabis. Not less than 34,520 capsules of tramadol were found
12:50concealed in different compartments of a Toyota Corolla car marked GAN 102AR intercepted along
12:57Zakibayam, Wakari Road on Monday 3 November while the driver Eliusamela, 25, was arrested. The opioids
13:06were loaded from Anitsha, Anambra state, and heading to Cameroon. In another operation in Taraba, NDLEA
13:14officers on Thursday 6 November arrested a suspect Felix Tanko Shindu, 28, with 15,020 capsules of
13:23tramadol at Kaswabera ATC in Ardokola local government area. In Kogi state, NDLEA operatives on patrol along
13:32Akene, Lakoja Highway on Wednesday 5 November intercepted a consignment of 7.600 kilograms loud,
13:40a strong strain of cannabis. A follow-up operation in Abuja led to the arrest of the owner,
13:46Chukwanonso Anis, 40, while no fewer than 175,000 pills of opioids were recovered from another consignment
13:55at the location same day. Three suspects, Oliyuday Oyudaran, 39, Abdulsalam Abdulsalam, 28,
14:04and Opiyemi Tajani, 39, were on Wednesday 5 November nabbed at Abuja,
14:10Kaduna Tollgate with 769 kilograms skunk being conveyed in a truck marked tray 897B,
14:18coming from Lagos on Route O, Ondo state and heading to Kano. A 73-year-old Grandpa James
14:26Urbedo was on Friday 7 November arrested in a cannabis plantation at Igbeshi Forest, Imiyakebo,
14:33Etsuko East Local Government Area, Edo state where 1,459.75 kilograms skunk was destroyed and 5.6
14:44kilograms of same substance evacuated, while 70-year-old Grandma Mrs. Comforter Doodoo was
14:50nabbed at Onoppa, Inagoa, Bielsa state with 5 kilograms skunk on Tuesday 4 November.
14:57With the same vigor, commands and formations of the agency across the country continued their
15:03war against drug abuse, WADA, sensitization activities to schools, worship centers,
15:09workplaces and communities among others in the past week. These include, WADA sensitization lecture

16:14The dismantling of yet another clandestine laboratory for the production of Colorado and
16:18other dangerous synthetic substances and the arrest of the kingpin behind it in Leki,
16:24coming barely a week after similar actions were taken against another cartel in a Jawa state Lagos
16:29shows that these are no doubt the first in the series of what will be many strikes against
16:34merchants of death who prey on the weak in our communities. Let it be known to those still
16:39hiding in the dark that the NDLEA supported by our local and international law enforcement partners
16:45will continue to hunt them and bring them to justice, Mawa added.

17:07Forfeit cash, luxury vehicles to federal government. Five members of some international
17:13organized criminal groups, IOCG, recently arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency,
17:21NDLEA, in connection with the seizure of 68.9 kg cocaine and tramadol at the
17:28Matala Mohamed International Airport, MMIA, Akeja Lagos have been sentenced to combined 21 years imprisonment.
17:36The trio of Ola Supo Michael Ola Demeggi, Muayazi Adamola Ogunbiyi, and Sola Adagoke who were leaders
17:43of one of the cartels were arrested following the seizure of 17.9 kg of cocaine concealed in
17:50textile materials and local charms going to Sydney, Australia at the export shed of the MMIA Lagos on
17:57the 26th of August 2025. In the course of investigation, 20.5 kg of Canadian Loud,
18:06a strain of cannabis, were recovered from Ogunbiyi's home in Lekie and a Black Range Rover SUV marked RBC
18:13459EJ found in Adagoke's residence in Akeja G.R.A. They were subsequently arraigned on five counts in
18:21charge number F.H.C.L. 925C, 2025 before Justice Musa Kakaki of the Federal High Court, Lagos on 30 October
18:332025. The accused persons later pleaded guilty to the charges against each of them. Delivering his
18:40judgment on 31 October, Justice Kakaki sentenced each of them to five years imprisonment without the
18:47option of fine, bringing the total number of years in jail for the three of them to 15 years. The court
18:54further ordered that the Range Rover SUV and a Toyota Venza car seized from the convicts in the course of
19:00the investigation be forfeited to the Federal Government of Nigeria. Similarly, two kingpins of
19:06another syndicate, Obunike Joseph Obachukwu and Uzuchukwu Gotspawachukwu were arrested by NDLEA
19:13operatives following the seizure of 2.60 kg cocaine and 27.90 kg tramadol concealed in motor spare parts
19:22being taken to Gabon through the Lagos airport on 19 July 2025. At the end of investigation, the duo were
19:31charged and arraigned before Justice Ambrose. Louis Alagoa of the Federal High Court Lagos on six
19:38counts in charge number F.H.C. L. 980C upon their arraignment on Tuesday the 4th of November. They
19:46both pleaded guilty and after a review of the facts of the case, the two defendants were convicted and
19:52sentenced to three years imprisonment or payment of a fine of two million nairas each in lieu of jail,
19:57while the four million nairas paid by Obunike to bribe NDLEA offices was ordered forfeited to the
