00:00The matchup between the Broncos and the Chiefs is one of the biggest of the season.
00:04The winner will be slated as the favorite to win the AFC West.
00:09We have talked occasionally about how the Chiefs in moments feel overpriced,
00:15but I actually think this game would be the best piece of evidence
00:18someone could use to suggest the other way.
00:21For Kansas City, despite right now sitting at 5-4,
00:23two back in the loss column of Denver,
00:25a win here would close that to one with the game remaining between these teams in Arrowhead.
00:32The Chiefs will go to comfortable favorites to win this division with a win,
00:38and they are booked as favorites here right now up to four and a half in a number of places.
00:45For the Broncos, though, Joe, an upset in their building would send shockwaves,
00:51I think, throughout the AFC, because all of a sudden now, it's not that,
00:58oh, they're 9-2 to Kansas City's 5-5.
01:00It's that Kansas City's 5-5.
01:02And there's only so long you can, as the Kansas City Chiefs, like,
01:06no, we're playing great.
01:07Like, they've got some really good wins on the resume.
01:11They've also struggled against the top teams they've come across in the AFC.
01:16This would put them with a loss to Jacksonville, Buffalo, the Chargers, and the Broncos,
01:22a.k.a. the only four AFC playoff teams they have gone up against so far this season.
01:30I love this game.
01:31I can't wait to watch this game.
01:34I know you're very interested, but just sidewise,
01:37do you find one team having an edge right now heading into this one?
01:40Yeah, I think it's the dog, and I think they have the wrong team favorite,
01:43to be honest with you, and I understand desperation game for the Chiefs,
01:49but it's sort of similar, and I hate to bring up the college game,
01:53but, you know, a lot of eyes on Texas yesterday,
01:55and Texas was terrible on the road this year, right?
01:59And so you bring up the performances by Kansas City.
02:03Oh, by the way, week one, that was on the road, neutral field.
02:06They lost.
02:07They lost to Buffalo, and they lost to Jacksonville on the road,
02:10and you have a team that's 5-0 at home in Denver,
02:13has won those games by an average margin of victory of 11.2 points per game
02:19and has won seven straight, Kevin, by 8.1 points per game,
02:23and you're getting four and a half points in the matchup?
02:25Where's the spread math with that?
02:27Because it's the Chiefs.
02:29Because it's desperation.
02:31Because it's Pat Mahomes and Andy.
02:33There's no way the Chiefs can be 5-5, right?
02:37That's the mindset going in this game.
02:38I like Denver, and I feel like the perception is, well, Denver has problems scoring.
02:45I've heard that a lot.
02:46You know, Denver, you know, against Las Vegas, they had an ugly game, right?
02:50They grounded it out, but they also put up 44 against Dallas in their building, right?
02:54They scored 33 points in the fourth quarter against the New York Giants.
02:58They put up points against the Chargers earlier.
03:01They can score.
03:03I just think that their defense at times, you know, takes games over,
03:08and sometimes they get exposed.
03:10But at the end of the day, I like the Broncos, and I like the over in this matchup.
03:15So I think it's a really interesting spot.
03:19Because you do have Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes coming off of a buying,
03:22and we know that this is going back to Andy's days in Philadelphia.
03:25He's always very good after a bye week.
03:28But that also helps Kansas City, is get a little bit healthier.
03:32Denver does come in still a little banged up.
03:34Pat Sertan's still out.
03:35No Alex Singleton in this game.
03:38Also, a shout-out to him as he announced that he, I believe, just beat cancer.
03:42He had prostate or testicular cancer.
03:45So that's an awesome thing.
03:46I'm sure at some point, you know, he'd love to get back out there with his team.
03:49J.K. Dobbins, Joe, put on the IR.
03:51So KC is the healthier team in this game.
03:55But Denver is coming off of a mini-buy.
03:58I find those still to be valuable.
03:59The fact that they were home against Vegas and home here again,
04:03I think that gives them a pretty soft landing spot in this game.
04:07And Sean Payton, since returning to the Broncos, is 4-0 straight up against the number
04:13when he is playing a game off of either a bye week or a mini-bye.
04:18So I look at this game, and I think if you are betting Kansas City,
04:22you're saying, one team has Mahomes, one has Bo Nix, give me the Chiefs.
04:28I think that's the idea.
04:30I look at this, and I think better defense is undeniably the Broncos,
04:35and I think there's some real separation there.
04:37And I think the coaching gap is much closer than other people.
