Transcript
00:00Justin Timberlake is opening up about his classic Saturday Night Live skit,
00:08D**k in a Box, revealing it almost didn't air. The musician and actress sat down for a new episode
00:13of the popular YouTube series Hot Ones with host Sean Evans and among other things discussed his
00:18five times hosting SNL and the evolution of his popular 2006 digital short while munching on some
00:24super hot wings. Timberlake explains that the short started with Lorne Michaels wanting the singer to
00:37do a sketch with Andy Samber. After struggling for an idea, the duo finally came up with a hilarious
00:42skit filled with silk suits, herringbone chains, and meticulous facial hair, which come to think of
00:47it seemed oddly familiar. Timberlake explained that they stayed up all day and night to shoot
00:54the video, however, they ran into a little problem at the 11th hour.
00:58The FCC shows up, they're like, you can't say d**k on the air. I'm like, oh right.
01:04After struggling to work it out, they finally agreed to air the digital short,
01:08but with an additional 16 bleeps added in.
01:11I think the irony of that is I think the funnier version is the bleeped out version.
01:15Sometimes it works out that way.
01:16On YouTube, the viral d**k in a box sketch has more than 5.5 million views.
