'The White Lotus' season three star Aimee Lou Wood said 'SNL' has apologized for what she called a "mean and unfunny" parody of her over the weekend. In a pre-taped sketch dubbed "The White POTUS," the NBC series spoofed Mike White's hit HBO series, swapping characters from the Thailand-set third season with President Donald Trump, his family and members of his cabinet.

00:27a pair of fake teeth in the sketch, had few lines, but did say,

00:31Wood took to Instagram on Sunday with a post that said in part,

00:40The 31-year-old followed up that initial post with a note that many people reached out to her to agree

00:50that the sketch was in bad taste, adding that she was glad she spoke up about it. Yes, take the piss

00:55for sure, that's what the show is about, but there must be a more clever, more nuanced,

00:59less cheap way. Wood also took a jab at the British accent Sherman put on for the sketch.

01:04At least get the accent right, seriously. I respect accuracy, even if it's mean,

01:08adding a laughing emoji. The White Lotus star later posted an update saying,

01:13I've had apologies from SNL. The actress didn't clarify who from the show reached out about the

01:18sketch. Wood then returned to her Instagram story soon after to clarify that the sketch

01:23wasn't Sherman's fault. Not hating on her, hating on the concept. I am not thin-skinned. I actually

01:28love being taken the piss out of when it's clever and in good spirits. But the joke was about fluoride.

01:33I have big gap teeth, not bad teeth. I don't mind caricature. I understand that's what SNL is.

01:39But the rest of the skit was punching up, and I slash Chelsea was the only one punched down.
